Though porcupine fish belongs to the same family of highly poisonous puffer fish, its poison is believed to be on the skin only, thus it can easily be avoided by removing and discarding it. Many Cebuanos also know how to prepare puffer fish but only done by highly-skilled individuals who have become experts after years of experience. The liver of the porcupine fish is highly valued for its delicate taste and highly delectable. The spines of the porcupine fish are also loaded with toxin that when it pierces the skin, it can cause a debilitating pain and sometimes can cause paralysis depending on the amount of toxin injected.

Lol ang hirap iunli ng lechon. Baka maER ng di oras haha! Kaya di rin sila lugi nyan. Di ako HB pero nakakahilo talaga pag mga balat ng lechon kakainin nyo 😅. Ganyan nangyari sa lechon belly namin nung New Year. Hilo kami agad lahat, di na ko nagtake home kasi baka maHB ako ng tuluyan.😅

It's funny they call 'maize' as corn rice which is actually contradictory in itself. How could you call rice a corn or a corn rice? Cebuanos call it 'mais' or 'maize'. Only Cebuanos are known to be maize eaters in the whole Philippines as the topography of Cebu island is mostly mountains that don't allow rice paddies to grow rice. Instead, maize is the most common cereal planted in farmlands in the mountainous and hilly areas or even in limited flat lands in Cebu.
in pampanga we eat mais too as substitute with rice

But here in Cebu, especially in the non-rice growing towns and cities (which comprise 90% of all towns and cities) majority of all people eat maize as a regular or daily staple not just a substitute. Rice is often prepared during big events only like fiesta so that visitors from other places who don't eat maize can enjoy the feast.

Puffer fish pala eh😅 pero serious poisonous yung ibang ganyan. Sa professional culinary, kailangan mo pa ng license para lang makapag hati ng isa niyan dahil delekado
