    Mompou is the ultimate master of the tenderness of childhood, especially in its infancy. No music is more deeply moving, no music is more sensitive. Its beauty is beyond great. He is really a dazzling treasure in the entire history of music and he happens to play his music to absolute perfection. If one wants to experience the most intimate inner fabric, there is no better source than the oeuvre of this more special than special artist/

    Mompou's piano peices are an expression of longing, of dances in a otherwise silent ballroom. The music clings to the soul and moves the spirit and is beyond metal analysis.

    This is easily some of my favorite piano music. He has such warmth in his playing.

    It is my first time to listen to this tune played by Mompow himself. Calm yet dynamic; delicate yet casual, which I like to have in a piece of music.

    You're right I just got mixed up. I mistakenly referred to the Occitan languages spoken in Southern France as "old French." Old French refers to northern French dialects spoken in Paris or possibly Norman French spoken in Normandy or England.

    No, actually, it's not. 'Federico' is the Spanish version of 'Frederic', which is indeed Catalan. Especially years ago (because of political matters), people tended to translate Catalan names into the Spanish ones. Therefore, his real name was 'Frederic'. Regardless of whatever type of reasons, t's more sincere and correct to respect the original names rather to translate them. Greetings.

      Right. They did it also with Pau Casals. Spaniards says "Pablo".

    • @rogervilarnau5409
      @rogervilarnau5409 4 роки тому

      Unfortunately there are is no sheet for this music, as Mompou's family has still allrights reserved for his music. It isn't been more than 50 years of his dead, that's the reason.
