Speaking of "folks south of us", greetings from Texas! From Ken B's greeting, looks like he has my "southness" beaten by several thousand miles. 🙂 Nice tie. I was tying some Deceivers just yesterday. Yours looks better than mine!
You may be the first Texan I’ve had comment Michael. Typically what species are you targeting with this pattern and what colours do you find good? Thanks!!!
Deceivers are good for Largemouth Bass in the central Texas lakes around here. I'm not saying Deceivers are magic, but a bluegill-ish or silver shad-ish Deceiver can be effective. Cheers!
Gidday Mr Texan. Australia is a little bit South of you. Hope the flies you tie catch you plenty of fish. Chris has many great tying videos which probably help lots of people like me who are pretty new to fly tying. Take care and tight lines.
Just the video I was looking for as I get myself worked up to taking my first shot at tying a proper fly aimed at a striper. I can do that! (Maybe not so pretty or as fast, but, hey, the fish won't know that.) Thanks!
thanks. you did Paul proud. Nice thread control

Excellent tutorial. Very well tied fly!
Thanks dude!!
Well done! And you are correct...the fish don't care but we are all trying to impress other tyers! :)

Very nice tie
Thank you!
It's a nice looking fly that works good tiy guy
Thanks Glen!
You’re wasting so much bucktail! If you’re going to cut it in half you should choose shorter bucktail. Leave the longer for your hollow flies
