It’s so wonderful that you do this Lauren. I would decorate almost every Holiday for my daughter especially, when she was little. She’s 23 now and still remembers how excited she would get when I’d decorate. To have an enchanting childhood is precious! G-d bless you for making that happen for them! I am a stay at home working mom. I do medical coding in the hospital but when Covid hit our town we were asked to work from home if we could to reduce the amount of people in the office. I could go back to work but I'm enjoying it at home so much I might make it permanent. 🙂

Try sharpening the knives first but if that does not help I love my J Henkels set! I got that for my bridal shower 19 years ago and they still are amazing!

I would recommend Cutco knives, I’ve had them for about 10 years and they are still perfect, plus you get lifetime sharpening of your knives whenever you need it :)

I could not agree more! We finally bit the bullet last year and spent the $. (Costco reps them twice a year for more savings). This was for our home in Az. When we go back to out home in Wi. I use our crappier knives and I’m bummed EVERY time!

He is 18 but now I still decorate not only for him but because I enjoy it. We look forward to eating corn beef, potatoes, carrots and cabbage with Guinness for St. Patty’s. Working from home the past six years and a busy mum of three children. I have always worked full time all my life but since my first daughter passing I took a step back to life madness. I absolutely love working from home. My children also shared their bedroom as they love it. We don't have such a great company like Green Chef it is really a very good way to eat healthy. I got my knives from Sur La Table in Montgomery Village. I got the Henkel knives and I love them. Easy to sharpen and very well balanced.
I take my kids lunch everyday to school 🥰 I think about it how we don’t like cold food or same food all the time ! So everyday I cook and take it to them I been doing this for 6 years now . I’m a stay at home mom so I’m very blessed to be able to do this , when I visited Mexico that’s what all moms justo do I loved it ❤️

Thank you so much! Lol I didn't inherit it and it wasn't passed down for sure!! I really envied kids in my neighborhood who experienced beautiful family traditions and parents who really put love and energy into their families and homes. I always wanted that and some how have created that for my family. I used to LOVE looking through home decor magazines, books and watch HSN as a little girl. I was so inspired by women who deeply loved and valued their children and family. I knew from a super young age that I wanted to have a big family and pour love into my children and marry someone I could call a best friend, who I respected and wanted to grow old with. It's not a passive things for me, I have to work at the little things every day, even when I am exhausted and just want to go to bed, I think about the joy and love it brings the kids and our family and it gives me the energy I need!! It's not easy, everyday I am learning something new and I bring inspiration from so many women in the world since I wasn't raised with it. 💕Hopefully this is the beginning of a new chain for our family, one of tradition and sharing beautiful memories that our children will continue with their kids. I just feel so grateful to have the opportunity to love this much and create such a life giving experience for my family. Sorry this was long but thought it was worth sharing.
Were you neglected as a kid? My mom suffered depression and so we had to take care of ourselves. I feel sad for her - she wants to believe that she was this wonderful mother. She wants to be told that she is but she doesn't want it to require too much effort. When we know what we don't want, we know more clearly what we do want!
I remember starting in 3rd grade, waking myself up with an alarm clock and getting myself ready for school and leaving on time. We were a couple blocks away from the school that I could walk. I look back at that and it kinda surprises me - I was 8 using an alarm clock! My littles are 2 and almost 5. Last year was the first year my oldest was aware of the different holidays and we had so much fun! We throwing a HUGE 5th Bday for him. I'm so excited.

The BEST knives in my opinion are CUTCO❤️ My mom received a set as a wedding gift in 1945 and they're still going strong almost 80 years later. I would suggest a set that includes the forks and the sharpener. They're expensive but well worth the money. ❤️

Tips I was giving by my uncle who was a butcher. Always be sure not to put your knives in a dishwasher. Have them professionally sharpened, regularly use your honing blade on them. I find this helps tremendously.

Well I don’t have 4 to feed but I would always make and freeze ahead of time the mains. I had snack/lunch cabinets to grab from. They were/are to pack the night before.

Bob Kramer knives are incredible! You can find them at Sur La Table ! They’ve been made like the samurai swords folding metal ! Not only beautiful to look at but incredible to work with ! Just be careful they’re really sharp !

I highly recommend the brand MAC brand of knives. I use them and I have been thrilled with the quality. Split an eyelash sharp. Another tip is to NEVER put your knives into the dishwasher, it will dull them very quickly, hand wash only. A sharp knife is much safer to use than a dull one.

@@LaurenNicholsen they are on the pricier end, but ANY good chefs knife will be, you get what you pay for. But it will be a knife that you will have lifelong if you care for it and handwashing only like I mentioned. You will never need to replace it.

Cutco knives! Pricey but nice! I am currently fulltime SAHM to a 3 year old and 21 mo old. I help manage our rental properties and am an attorney who will get back at it (to some extent?) when the kiddos go to school. Time is already going so fast...in just a year I'll be registering my first born for full time pre-k!
