Which one you think is the best on this list. I got koala recently, but looking into getting digistix. Do you have the first review (Digistix) as top 1 or the other way around where the last review (sidekick) the top 1. Like best for last, or the best one is right in the beginning of the video
Apps are never in any particular order in our top lists, if they make a top 5 list you can bet it's a great app. As far which one I use personally I use digistix 2 more than koala.
@@MobileMusicPro Nice, and have you used all lot of 4pockets apps. I bet the multi compressor works good with Digistix. And the chameleon sampler looks dope too. They have a lot cool stuff. I’m having a hard time choosing what else to get from 4pockets. They probably have the biggest catalog for AUV3
Love this... thanks y’all... I’m an old school country/folk (acoustic guitar) musical artist. After watching this video, and several other orienting videos, educating myself on current iPad app drum groove machines, I feel confident with what’s going on here. I selected one of the above.
Learned a lot in this episode Vortex! Happy to discover all of the capabilities of these drum apps for iPad and iOS music production. I'm an Android and windows user, so I have to get my mind around getting into iOS, but I'm willing. Thanks for the great content production. You're a great, clear and concise speaker. Impressed how much information you pack into each precious moment!
Thanks so much for the kind words! We do try really hard to pack alot of info into a small amount of time :) iOS is really many generations ahead of the game in terms of music production when compared to android, but they're not too different these days really now that iOS has a file system :)
Thanks, great video, so clear. As I am hopeless at programming my own beats, does DigiStix come with inbuilt midi grooves? EG pulse does I think - would that be a good choice for acoustic drums?
I don't believe so, but it does come with a boat load of sounds :) And of course there is a ton of amazing drum midi packs out there from people like Cymatics, Illmind and many other producers that can really help when first learning drum patterns. And we'll also of course have drum midi packs coming out soon :) I'd say yes digistix is an excellent choice for any kind of drums :)
hey bro maybe you can help me. I'm looking for drums that are like "Drums Affair". which AUV3 would you recommend? drums affair goes in the direction of 80s / 90s
@@MobileMusicPro thank you for the very quick response. then i have to test the apps. i didn't know that ipad was so powerful with so many sounds and possibilities. I still have a little question. for music productions, would you rather recommend an ipad pro 2020 or the normal ipad? do you mean it makes a difference which ipad you use?
@@gino9010 I would always recommend the pro mainly because they have more space, if you don't care about space the processor and ram is the same for all 2020s :)
@@gino9010 Like I said they have the same cpu and same ram so any limits hit with regular ipad would be hit with pro as well. But of course there are ways around limited cpu such as freezing tracks.
Hey Vortex, just wondering what you think of the cubasis internal purchase options that are on special today. Machines, arp, fx 1+2 and the waves bundles? I have a eg pulse, ruismaker, noir, patterning 2, synth drum already ;) oh and fabfilter bundle and a koalafx and a bunch of other fx options. Thx for any advice loving your videos :)
The waves bundles are fantastic though I do mostly prefer custom AUv3s like the fabfilter mixing plugins instead. The arps are certainly fun and the fx bundles are absolutely usable and of course don't take much cpu b/c they're built in so I end up using a few of them pretty often.
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 So DigiStix for sure let's you add your own samples, and technically you can just use the sequencer within DigiStix to program drums. However it's also an AUv3 midi effect allowing you to just use its sequencer to control midi within your DAW and not use any sounds within DigiStix at all. It's up to you :)
Hi, is there any DRUM VST or ANDROID APP that serves as accompaniment? the one like in physical Keyboards Synths, there is drum ready to play, with variety of fills (Yahama or Roland keyboard synth)
There is a huge variety of drum apps for iOS but android doesn't support the AUv3/VST standard so you could not use the app inside of a DAW like Cubasis or Logic on Android.
Man! You guys are reading my mind. I got Cubasis 3 last week and have been trying to figure out what drum app I wanted. So awesome! I also have a question. Do you know how to gain stage in Cubasis? Like if I pull in an audio clip from an old GarageBand session and I want the volume to be overall lower on my meter before going into any plugins. I know other DAWs have a gain control. I can’t find it on Cubasis. Any ideas?
Thanks! We've got a ton of top apps videos on the channel and more to come :) But I highly recommend you checkout our Cubasis 3 for beginners video where we go into alot of these questions. I believe you're just looking for the mixer to adjust volume on the track or the ability to adjust volume per clip/region on a track, and of course on the mixer you'll also find the master channel to adjust volume for entire project. Apologies if this is not the answer you're looking for, if it's not perhaps you could go into more detail :)
Also there's a new app that just came out with a ton of tools to inspect your audio and your mix which I highly recommend here: apps.apple.com/us/app/id1525484137 and then there's even an app to read your LUFS here: apps.apple.com/us/app/analyser-tuner-auv3-plugin/id1436332576
And then finally there's the entire suite of fabfilter tools available for iOS as well, sorry for all the comment spam :) apps.apple.com/us/developer/fabfilter/id421796789
MobileMusicPro it’s pre fader. So that your fader can be set at zero and you can adjust how loud that audio is. It helps during mixing because there’s a sweet spot for audio volume when going into a plug-in. Actually now that I’m thinking about it, I think there is an option to put a plug-in on a track pre fader in Cubasis. I bet I could just put in a flat eq on the pre fader side and use the output volume to do what I’m talking about. DAWs like ProTools and Reason Etc. have a little adjustment knob in the corner of each track called gain. It really helps with your mixes because you don’t end up with a “roller coaster” on your faders. The closer to zero you are on a fader the more control you have over the volume. You can be way more precise with volume changes when you’re starting at zero. I’ll have to go check if I’m right about that pre fader plug-in thing. I’ll let you know. If it turns out to work it may be a good topic for one of your videos! Thanks for getting my gears turning.
Let’s start a new thread so everyone can see... Have you tried any of the drum apps by LumBeat like Soft Drummer or Jazz drummer etc. ? There’s a bunch. The demo video in the App Store sounds great. Little expensive but if it’s compatible with Cubasis 3 I would pick one or two of them up just based on their realism. Any thoughts?
They're not AUv3 compatible so you would have to pipe them into Cubasis via something like audiobus. Those apps are really fantastic. We feature the drummer app in our top 5 apps with a random function here: ua-cam.com/video/jHxG7QdE-J4/v-deo.html
