Seen will always remain beyond legend in my eyes. His pieces look AMAZING and are so legible unlike a lot of new writers, even myself, making crazy pieces that are just average and completely illegible yet stun people that aren't used to seeing graffiti a lot.
Wiesbaden, Hessia, Germany.... i don't remember the exact year. One of my most beloved memories. Getting close to all those legends of Graffiti, HipHop and everything around....gives me the shivers, seeing this video! Thank you so much for uploading.
Top 3 things about Wildstyle. 3. Seeing all the elements, colours, etc. they put together to make it 2. How awesome it looks. 1. Seeing your friend spend 20-30 minutes to figure out what it says.
hi! i took the footage and i talked alot to him. this event was the third time i saw him that year! he gave me an interviews for my bachelors work about the influence of the media on hiphop culture worldwide. but you are right,.. people gather around him and stand there for hours - but they think that he is a legend they are not allowed to talk to. cant understand this... he is one of the nicest "legends" i ever met during my media & hiphop life! ;-)
Cope and Cone were heavy bombers, on the 4 and 5's but Cope didn't get style until the trains were over. Cope and Quik KD were among the first all city above ground kings. Others were Veefer,Joz,Josh,Smith,Sane,TK,Trap, Edge,Enuf,Cect,Fib,Bio,Per,Med,Fayde,Saint,Ghost, and Chino. Time is a funny thing.
i cant agree more. back when i was little i rember seen, t kid, zepher, cope, magoo, skeme, and cats like futura and samo and even cats like phase2 all in the graff fix section of the source magazine (it dont have that section anymore) and it really blew my mind. i never thought graff could be like that and it just put the lust in me. now i have roughed up fingers from caps and paint in my veins all thanks to cats like that. especialy seen
Fayde, Saint and Chino were far bigger above ground than under ground. I went to school with Saint, this is like 84-85. After '86 the trains were done. Which is around the time, TMR got rolling, Saint scrapped that ugly "S" and developed the throwee he's been rocking since.
When I got to the Bronx in 95 cope2 was everywhere I mean everywhere I stayed mainly on the 1 and 4 rooftops and all and even beefed with some of the people that hung with cope2 in 2000 I went to the Army did a whole career came back and I still see cope2 around jesus im in my 40s now🫡🔥
HUGE TIP---> when you want to do a thin line.. you turn the spray can upside down.. spray untill no more colour comes out.. and only gas.. then you turn it upside down again.. and spray the line you want. the first line that comes out after this proccess will be reaaaaaally thin.!!!!
this is quite beautiful. graffiti is pure art and should be treated like one. not as a crime. stick it to tha man, taggers! i luv u all! u bring art to these dul streets!!
I met Zebrocski a good few years back when he and the legendary Martha Cooper came to Magma Book shop in Manchester UK... Martha Cooper aka Marty C was promoting her new book The Hip Hop Files... I bought the book and got it signed by Marty and Zebrocski.. Great day in my life!.. Two very nice human beings! Also apart from Zebrocski being a sick graffer he is also pretty neat with the beats and breakin skills.. ;) As for Seen and the other heavy weights...Enough said! Skillz ;)
Maybe Seen is to Graffiti Writers what Jimi Hendrix is to guitar players. I wish he is still smiling. I will try to reach him for a interview as long as his lungs are not to sticky by varnish. thx for the video
SEEN has been painting in Sweden in some Urban Exploration places and in our local graffiti store, just thought you might wanted to know ;);) );;);)))))))

@TheReptileRob I don't know about all that stuff you said, I just know one thing that is the driving force and it's true origins and that's the subway trains. Walls don't do it for me and I get no motivation from it. It's fine for other heads but the wall stuff doesn't do anything for me. It's the subway trains where graff really shined.
