Hello, i hope you don’t mind helping me clear a doubt of mine. I am a british citizen, born and raised in mexico (mexican mother, british father), only studied years 7-9 in the UK. Haven’t done GCSE’s or A-Levels as I moved to Mexico. I want to study university in the UK. What can I do to make this possible? Since I am a british citizen I can take out student loans, right? It’s mostly a problem since I am currently being homeschooled - I can’t seem to find any information on how to meet university requirements apart from paying to do all my missing exams, which seems very expensive. I am going to be 18 in a couple of months, will that be a problem? Thank you for your time.
Thanks for getting in touch Sam, hopefully I can answer your questions! First of all with the fees/loan, when you apply to study at a UK university, they will do a fee assessment. Even if you are a UK national, to be eligible, usually you have to have been living in the UK for at least the last 3 years prior to starting your course. So if you have lived outside of the UK for the last 3 years, you would need to pay international fees. However you would not need a student visa, as you are a UK national. As for homeschooling, most universities will still require you to take public exams. Students who are homeschooled in the UK will usually take public GCSEs and A-Levels if they wish to study at university. If you took a limited number of exams, you could apply for a Foundation level course, however this would require one additional year of study in the UK. Apologies if this isn't exactly what you were hoping to hear, however hopefully it helps you to understand your options. Thanks, Jack

Hi Shubham, thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately I can't let you know, as mentioned on the offer letter, the university is still finalising the scholarships that will be available for September 2021. As soon as they are known, you should receive an update. Thanks for your patience, Jack
Hello! I am lekhana and I am studying 11th grade right now and I am from india , I want to apply for uk universities as an undergraduate for business management , what scores do I need to get in ielts to get fully funded scholarship
Hi Lekhana, it will depend on a lot of different things - which university you are applying to, which scholarship you are applying for, the competition you are up against, and others things too! I would recommend you work to get as high a score as you can! Having said this, your academic score is more important than your IELTS - with an IELTS you really just have to get the required score, whereas with your academic score, the higher the better! Thanks, Jack
Hi
I'm from India and I have finished my bachelor degree last year. Ik planning to do Masters (MBA) in Cardiff university. The fees is almost 20 lakhs INR which is something big amount for me. How can I know if I'm eligible for scholarship or not ? What am I supposed to do for getting the scholarship from Cardiff university.
Thanks for the videos above.💯
Please get me back once you read this
Thank you !
Hi Usman, thanks for getting in touch, and glad to hear you are thinking about coming to study here in Cardiff! So you may already know that Cardiff Metropolitan University is a different university to Cardiff University - but they are both in the same city. At Cardiff Met, the fee for MBA is currently 14,000 GBP, which is around 13 lakhs INR. You may be eligible for a scholarship of up to 3000 GBP, which would bring the fee down to around 10.5 lakhs INR. This may be a little more affordable! To find out if you are eligible, you can get in touch with the India office at Cardiff Met on india@cardiffmet.ac.uk, and send them your bachelor transcripts. They will then let you know which scholarship you are eligible for. I hope this helps! Thanks, Jack
Hey!
First of all , alot of love and respect from India.
I wanted to know that whether I can get scholarship for under graduate courses in Cardiff or not.
If yes , what are the requirements and procedure too.
With regards.
Hi Sehajdeep, thanks for getting touch. We do have a part scholarship available for our undergraduate courses. When students make an application to the university, they will automatically be considered for this. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Thanks, Jack
@@cardiffmetropolitanunivers7174 May I know that when the institution is gonna open the applications in 2020?
Regards , Sehaj
@@sehaj89 Applications are open now! We're still accepting applications for September 2020, and students will be able to defer if they can't join us. Thanks.
Thank you, that's a very informative video! However, as per my knowledge, Cardiff Metropolitan is not a part of the eligible universities under commonwealth scholarships.
Thanks Areeba, I'm glad you found it informative! You may not be able to use all forms of the Commonwealth Scholarship at Cardiff Met, however we've had quite a few students study here under the Shared Commonwealth Scholarship scheme, which is part of the same programme. Particularly in STEM subjects. So it may not be possible for all students, but worth checking if your subject option is possible at Cardiff Met. Thanks for the feedback though, it's appreciated 😄 Jack
@@cardiffmetropolitanunivers7174 Thank you, Jack, I will look into it. I appreciate your instant response.
You're welcome! Happy searching!
Hello areeba Fatima, are you in cardiff? I have some queries regarding Cardiff so reply if you are in cardiff
I m an indian,nd I aspire do LLM from UK but problem is scholarship do not allow international student to stay in UK after completion of one's course. Can u suggest me a scholarship which can cover full or maximum of my tution fee nd still allow me to stay back in UK.
Hi Kavya, as far as I know, if you have a scholarship to study the LLM in the UK, you should be able to take advantage of the Post Study Work visa in the UK. I doubt a scholarship would cover the costs of staying in the UK afterwards, but you should be allowed. I could be wrong, so if you know differently, and want to share the details of the scholarship you have found, I'd be happy to take a further look. Thanks, Jack
@@cardiffmetropolitanunivers7174 yes please I need to know.only I want scholarship for LLM in UK and permission to stay there afterwards,I don't want any amount to be paid for my living after my LLM.I want to become barrister in UK.nd I don't hv parents so,I don't want to return back to India. At present I m student of BA LLB (Hons).
@@kavyamorya1258 In that case, I would say that unless you get a scholarship from the Indian government requesting that you return to India after your studies, you will be able to stay in the UK with a Post Study Work visa after your studies. This is the case for all international students. If you then got a job as a barrister, your chambers could sponsor you to stay in the UK after the end of your Post Study Work visa. I hope that helps!
@@cardiffmetropolitanunivers7174 Thank you so much it really helped me.Information given by you will really help me to achieve my dream. Thanks again
