I’m worried my breakthrough period won’t come. After drinking almost daily for close to 8 years it’s almost like I’ve completely forgotten who I really am. I’m gonna have to learn all over again. Alcohol free for 11 days now. Feeling better! Let’s do this!
Can I get some of your notes like what are you experiencing I have drank everyday for three years and working really hard to a final drink. Im scared and nervous I
I stopped drinking for one month and a week now and what i found was that my mood is so much steadier and i do more things i truely wanna do. I was never addicted but i justed stopped for stop smoking and my life actually got way better
Just like I reframed my attitude towards alcohol and shattered my illusions about the perceived benefits, so too did I have to reframe my attitudes towards this crazy world where people drink poison for entertainment. The breakthrough definitely came from within when I started on the path to recover just as you describe. All of the steps are exactly as you describe. I recently also thought that I was finally becoming who I was before the demon drink stole my acumen.
Hi Leon, thank you soooo much! I watched one of your video about the mindset when you're looking at the alcohol, it appears to be DRUG, which really hits me on how I should view the beer I hold basically everyday of my life ever since when I was 15, and now I'm about 25. And I really believe that I regarded it as "water" , simply for hydrate purpose , literally "drinking like horse" when I was a stupid kid, sadly drinking beer has been a habit. For past few months I've been preparing my postgraduate entrance exam of China and trying to be healthier and maybe a couple of weight loss, but then I realised I just CAN’T, the beer plays a role of counteracting all the effort I made and of coping mechanisms to stress related to things requires willpower (as if I’m drinking whilst I damn sure having good reason to procrastinate and just lie down on couch and binge TV series) As you said, it’s holding me back, I could’ve done so much more and become the person I’ve always wanted to be if it were this DRUG. I’m done with alcohol of any strips, it’s drug for body and definitely bloody poison for brain. I genuinely consider what you do make this world better place, well, at least for those who wants get better !
30 days sober from weekend binge drinkkng normally one or two nights a week plus holidays , xmas etc.. I feel great, ive slways kept fit at the gym and been very active , so get a buzz uit of that...The more videos i watch on the science of drinking amd the damage it was the less i want to drink, fed up of the endless cycle...i turned 51 on the 27th jan this month..Ive wanted to stop teally for the lasr 20 oiut of 35 years on and off of drinking...
WOW !!! 82 days. Oops, I'm not supposed to count, LOL. First week was hell. Flu like symptoms, freezing hands and feet. Now it's great. No more deadly hangovers, 95% less mood swings, normal blood pressure and no more meds to screw up my liver. And as an added bonus, $400 to $500 savings per month. Oh yeah, I drank the best (or should I say devious) red wine ! And most importantly, as far as friends and family goes, the real ones stayed firm with me, the others I could not care less !

What do you do about mental intensity? I think it is a combination of mental clarity and higher energy, but whenever I quit drinking I become super intense.
I have quit lots of times, after 2 or 3 days I feel really good until 10 days. At 10 days I hit the most awful lethargy and brain fog and even if I try to ride it out it stays and stays seemingly permenantly. What could it be? A hormonal deficit? As soon as drink again it all goes again and I do not just mean whilst I am drunk. Right now I am in a mild hangover after a 3 day binge after the above scenario played out for about the 15th time again and I still feel better than I did on day 10 of not drinking. Could it be that the alcohol tops up some kind of transmitter?
