Glad to see you back I think Larry is the hottest thing on Utube. When I first watched the first Bird mix tape Bird videos just keep coming. Now I'm 66 and I knew Larry was good but after watching all his videos you can't help but to realize how great he was.And after watching your reaction videos of Bird you have became a Bird fan he was a bad man on the court.Just think his last 5yrs he played through pain no other man could have played with, good to see you back.
One of the funniest things I ever heard was when they interviewed Magic and then Larry, when they went to a full series in one if their finals together. Someone showed the interviews back to back. First Magic: "I think everyone knew it would be a tough seven game series." Then Larry: "Well I thought we'd sweep them in four." Larry wasn't going in to play a seven game series, he was going in to sweep those LA scrubs! LOL
Those peeps that don’t have Larry legend in the goat debate is because they believe that athleticism ranks higher than bball iq….. but Larry legend wore out the nba on both sides of the ball
I'm so sick of hearing the "athletic" excuse out of yet another Gen Z who wouldnt know great, proper hoop if MJ, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Wilt AND Russell threw it at their heads with a dodgeball. ANYONE, ANNYYYYONNNNEEEE playing a professional sport is athletic. period, end of, miss me with that nonsense. 🙄
Not only 2 goats against one but the Celtics were always more beat up in the Finals because the Eastern Conference was brutal. Much harder to get through than the West back then.
FACTS. Dog fights, every last one of them. the Sixers alone were a steep, hard battle that could rival Hamburger Hill. with hand checking, hard fouls, cheap shots and bench-emptying fights that wouldn't even get called for a personal, let alone tech LOL.
Bill Walton was doing the skyhook in Portland earlier in his career. He was not as proficient as Lou/Kareem, but he was hitting about 50% of them. By the time Walton was in Boston, his %s were a bit lower, but still effective enough to help with the championship run in 86.
the rivalries aren't there now cause the league is stocked with kids that grew up on friggin participation trophies. 🤨 and I LOVE Magic. love him. LOVE. even more when I met him. personalities like his are rare, and the world could use 320 more of him. but good lord, you gotta be able to impact gameplay on the court in several ways, with and without the ball, consistently, repeatedly, and with high-level, A++ excellence to be goated over Bird. in my personal opinion anyway. I'll even allow an A- comparison since Magic was at point, his numbers certainly are a glowing report for ANY guard, and ffs, it IS Magic we're talkin about. he's one of the very few with a reserved seat at the "we're on a different stratosphere than you'd ever hope to be even if you sold your soul" table. he's permanent, OG, god-tier VIP in the superstar club, ZERO doubt, and anyone says different is delusional. but there are too many players who CAN work the court from all angles to justify Magic getting a pass on that, for the sake of this discussion at least. when you make it to the goat debate, I dont think measuring your abilities only against the ideal for your position are enough of an argument anymore. and even if someone can't agree with that overall, it sure as hell spells out the difference between him and Birdie, relatively scant as that is. Magic's win percentage is like, what, only 10-15 games higher? and he had 4 extra finals appearances, a longer career and Kareem, Coop and Worthy to do it. (dont get it twisted, Coop was a PROBLEM.) but that's speaking on the teams as well, not just the player's skills, and to be fair that mistakenly confuses apples with orange groves. if Bird hadnt been such a damn hot-head and broken his hand yet again, the Celts prob could have taken the '85 title, if not '87 too. the conversation would immediately be totally different. (I'm STILL mad about that fluke bounce off the rim, 38 years later LOL.) but again, that's data for considering the team, not one player. and for those who think math decides everything, some of Bird's defense numbers are even better, where I would have expected Magic to lead. I do give Magic a nod for his two season 20 ppg/12 apg. I'm not looking at trips cause I would expect Magic to smash that stat lol. but then, Bird avgd 20+/10/5 in FIVE seasons and nearly all of his game career highs are better than Magic's, or exactly the same.... shoulda coulda woulda, yeah yeah...but still. we're putting an iconic, all-time great for the ages against an all-around, supernatural talent that pulled off miracles so often he damn near looked bored. best I can do is 1A/1B, cause as skilled as Magic was, the flowers he demands, and considering the fingerprints he still leaves on the league and the sport, I just cant put him above Bird on this question. never saw Magic go 7 seasons with a collapsed spine and bone spurs and STILL, with freakish ability, crush ops like potato chips, either. One guess on who DID... lol.
I hadn't thought that Reese is comparable to Bird but under the bucket, yeah that's a fair comparison. For Clark, she's been compared to Pistol Pete or Steve Nash, for her court IQ, shooting, and passing. I have tickets for the WNBA all star game in a few weeks and it's going to be interesting to see them all on the court together, including A'ja Wilson, and the other great players in the league.
Angel Reese has a lot of rebounds because she’s rebounding her own misses from point blank range… so the rebounds are quite misleading…. And CC turns the ball over too much some you can put on her teammates, not being able to catch the ball or ready for it, and the fact that she gets double teamed a lot. I believe the rivalry, though is more one-sided
And when you said, Reese is like Larry the Legend Bird, nah, that's disrespectful, and if you talk about double double, Reese has double rebounds because of her own misses,😭😭😭
Bird was almost sociopathic in his competitiveness and maybe that's why he didn't need the speed or verticality that others had. I saw MJ once when the Bulls played the Mavericks in Dallas and I have never seen anyone move like that, even now. Sorry;, thought interruption there. I love to watch Bird clips because he was certainly different but Magic was just as good. My favorite is Bird but who would I rather have over for dinner? Magic, of course!
Sorry young man,the so-called rivalry is only in Reese's mind, Caitlin Clark just wants to play basketball, all of the others in the welfarenba is riding on Caitlin Clark's bud, with love from the Philippines
Most sports talking heads (whose opinions mean nothing, but nonetheless) still take Magic over Bird. You're right, of course. Bird's all around game was better, and Bird was better in the clutch. But you're going against the grain.🙂 One correction: Boston beat Houston in the Finals that year, not LA.
Magic OVER Bird straight up?? I’ve never heard ONE talking head embarrass themselves like that..whoever it was at least they had enough sense to say it very quietly
@@scottbuono2507 Send that memo to Hubie Brown. Chris Broussard too. It has changed in recent years. Bird was generally considered the best in the world in the mid 80s..then when Magic won more championships the narrative switched to favoring him. Now it seems to be going back to Bird more. Magic had better teams, but Bird was the superior player (to be fair, not by that much..both still make my top 3).
I Really Don't Want To Be Mean, O'Forget That, YES I Do. I Have NO Interest In The WNBA OR The NBA Of Today. That's A Joke When You Say I Can See The "IQ" Of This Player OR That Player, ha ha ha ... Stop It, Because They Don't Have To Think In Playing This CRAP-BB Now Days. The Only "IQ" Being Used Is Playing For FAR To Much Money Then They Give The Fan's. They Are Nothing But All About Me, Me & Me. Can't Really Just Blame Them For It. The Franchise's Agreed To Them NOT Playing True BB. All Each Game Is Now Is, Ok It's Your Turn To Take A 3 And It's Your Turn To Get To Drive For A Slam-Dunk OR Lay-Up. There Is NO Defense. And "Passing", ha ha ha ... The Spacing Is Huge So You DON'T Have To Think About How I'm Going To Get This Ball Threw OR Too. I'm Going To Be 64 & I Could Make Passes Easy Like They Get To Do. And LeFlop Having A "IQ", ha ha ha ha ha. No One Has To Use Any Kind Of "IQ" Playing Into Todays Game.
I agree about WNBA. I have nothing against the WNBA but if they were as good as NBA I would be watching. They aren't, period. Of course, if things keep going the way they are (think Caitlyn Jenner) , there will be a merger one day!
@@dedrahiggins1326 It's Not Them, It's How The Game Is Played In The NBA. WNBA Has Always Been Nothing And Will Continue To Be Nothing. They Are Just Trying To Sucker In Fan's.
No. Angel Reese is NOT like Larry Bird. IMO. They are NOT Bird and Magic. That is a HUGE stretch. Bird was shooting from deep *strategically* in high school and college where those shots counted for two like any other shot before he ever got to the NBA. He didn't shoot many "3s" when he came into the league because the culture in the league discouraged them. Bird then used them strategically just as he had used his looonnng jumpshots in college. A nail in a coffin or a quick boost for the offense or a threat for the opposing defense to open things up OR just an exciting splash for the fans 🎉
Thanks for the reaction. 👍
☘️ Larry Legend loved the game and the competition.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 "finna just bust a 3 on you guys and go home..."
His career was short as he was 22 or so in his rookie year and his back was horrible. Yet, for a decade, Larry was the best.
I was there.

Hey. Glad you could see what i was saying! 💜 I can see it's not popular .. But i think it will become clearer as their careers go along.
Caitlin Clark has both Larry the Legend Bird's and Magic Johnson's style of play,😍😍😍
