Hasn't sinked in yet...l hope the Broadway community will find ways to remember him with,l don't know, events,performances, that celebrate his life, his immense talent,his passion,political activism. It's so rare to see a person whose soul shines so brightly and clearly. I traveled multiple times to NYC and London for work or to see friends and always made the dates coincide with shows l wanted to see,so l've admired him in different productions through the years. My thoughts go out to his family and friends,can imagine the pain they're feeling losing someone so special ❤
I am heartbroken but truly grateful that I got to see him many times in the show that he loved this much. I am sure he is performing it in theater heaven now.
I was lucky enough to meet Gavin in L.A. last week after an amazing performance by him in The Book of Mormon. I was such a dork; I was just like, "I'm such a huge fan, you're amazing!" (word vomit), and he was just so nice about it. He asked my name, shook my hand (he was standing on a table and couldn't give any hugs, though that would have been nice), introduced himself, thanked me and was such a sweetheart. I was nervous, as he is pretty much my idol, but it/he was simply incredible.
My heart breaks hearing in this interview how he wanted to get married and possibly be a dad I’m devastated cancer took these experiences away from him 💔
I didn't know he did a reading for Pippin, I loved his cover of corner of the sky I wonder why he didn't get it? I guess it was good news for me as I got to see him as Elder Price in book of mormon!
Well, my family didn't want to wait around to stage door, so I literally walked right up to him while he was asking for donations. He was standing on a table. He was like 10 feet tall. It was weird.
After I wrote the above comment, I saw online that he is now dating Andrew Rannells, and they've appeared publicly together. So he's all the way out at this point. :)
Indeed. And why did he stop himself? I really don't get why there are 'out' entertainers who want to keep their romantic partners in the closet. Cheyenne Jackson posted the beautiful wedding picture of he and his partner Monte. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have shown beautiful pics of their children. Christopher Sieber and Kevin Burrows had their wedding announcement in the Times, and even did a sexy routine together for Broadway Bares. C'mon Gavin...come out all the way, babe.
