It's so fun to see you do a collab with Claudia! Both of you make such great content. I really enjoyed how you talked about so many different aspects of the formulas - from the textures to the feel, to the look. It's wonderful to hear all that nuance in the descriptions. And now I'm even more curious about those Guerlain quads than I was before.
@@TheStyleStumbler thank you Stephanie! ♥️ I think part of the reason I moved on from only seeing eyeshadow as matte/metallic was definitely my encounter with PML. It literally changed the way I think and do my makeup. And Claudia!! She has been my guru in baked gelee since day 1 😂♥️😊. Ohhh that ways I love these Guerlain baked quads…you have to put them on your lids to understand. Sorry I am enabling 🙈!
@ That‘s ok! I’ve strengthened my slow-buy muscles enough to resist temptation. But if I ever get the chance to try them, I certainly will! Those Guerlain shadows sound lovely.
What a great video, so detailled! I enjoy the Gerlain Quads a lot, the latexy formula as you call it is what I do appreciate! I also love the In Extra Dimension eyeshadows from MAC
@@verenaweisz1713 thank you babe! The latex mattes are the texture that I find is the most divisive between people. Some really struggle with it. Never had one of those but I have face powders in that finish and I loooove them!!
Thank you Mariam. I enjoyed this. I must re-watch your guide to the PML formulae. ( I don't think you linked it). Off to see Claudia's take after supper.
Lovely video! I’m feeling inspired to pull out my Motherships and try layering over other brand liquid and cream eyeshadows. I always enjoy your content. 💝
I've popped over from Claudia's video to see your perspective. I appreciate your information -- and your insight. Thank you, Mariam. I've just subscribed! ❤
I love that you did a collaboration with Claudia! I could listen to both of you talk about eyeshadows (and swatch them)all day!! I really love the Guerlain baked mattes, too. Oh how I wish they’d make more quads with their baked formulas! Pat comes out #1… of course!! Her baked shades are just next level. I love that Pat got first place in Claudia’s ranking, too. My very favorite is also Pat McGrath with Guerlain in second. It’s too bad both brands don’t seem interested in their baked formulas anymore. I’m glad Bobbi Brown is!
I actually love that both of us declared Pat the Queen. That says a lot! Guerlain is interestingly a very divisive one, some love it some find it hard to work with. Tastes differ I guess. I am also super bummed that my top 2 have discontinued their baked formulas.
@@RoseOfMadina I have the guide to Mother’s formulas if that helps. Also you will be delighted to hear that in Dec at some point I have the ambitious plan to film a series with the Motherships only. 😁
I think I may have commented this previously but I really think you would like the Chantecaille Luminescent Eye Shades. They’re very reminiscent of this baked gelee formula and stunning on the eyes.
Because of you and Claudia, today I finally ordered Sisley eyeshadow. I did find them 50% off. I had to have the blue Claudia showcased. It looked chef’s kiss.
I must admit that I have not focused on formula like you have. I think I will have to try and see. I have a lot of these so I should do that soon. As I age, I need shadows that apply smoother on the lids…so something to think about.
Def checking out those Bobbi brown. And I realised I have one of her singles! I love it but it’s not a colour I use regularly. Love the Pat style special shades. By far the best
as usual you’ve managed to give us the best content of the day week month with this one Mariam! 🤩🤩🤩 i only have Pat McGrath baked shadows in my collection rn but those original six ombré g quads from Guerlain are definitely next on my list. good thing christmas is coming! 💀 is Imperial Moon your favorite??
Ohhh tough one! I like them all. Imperial Moon is the only one with cooler tones. I love Metal Butterfly too but you gotta love the colous. Royal Jungle is also gorgeous. I have a playlist somewhere with a whole week using the Guerlain quads.
@ fair enough, fair enough. I love Metal Butterfly too from the looks of it! those two will be my first ones for sure. i found some marketing material on Saks that also categorizes Mystic Peacock and Majestic Rose along with Imperial Moon as ‘Cold’ instead of ‘Warm’ which was hilarious to me😭😭 still, the idea that the two lower shades in Mystic Peacock are supposed to represent new copper and then patina-d copper or whatever almost sells me on the palette even if it isn’t cool toned to my eye at all lol
Also Mariam, after watching Claudia's video, I'm wondering whether you will try out Florasis? I trust your opinion! I'm a bit ill (seasonal flu), but this video put me in a really good mood. Thank you!! Sending you a virtual, virus-free, hug! ❤
Ahh beterschap!!! A virus has been trying to get me all week too, I have a bit of the sniffles but so far nothing too bad. I did get the flu shot though. For now, no plans to try Florasis but you can trust Claudia, she knows what she is taking about.
I have apples and pears. Thank you for this. This is so helpful. I am overwhelmed by pears. I am looking forward to buying more pears at the Clionadh BF sale. Milly has a collaboration with Clionadh.
I was able to swatch the mega palette in store yesterday. It has an interesting formula. I’m thinking it may have been bit dried out from being open. It seemed like many colors were quite sheer and like toppers. I’m just in love with baked the formula and especially like it for face products.
If the shadows felt dry they were def dried out. This formula is super creamy. I think some of them are a bit more sheer indeed. Me too!!! Baked and baked gelee face products are sublime.
Hi Mariam, thanks for this insightful video. I've been very curious about baked gelée formulas since I tried the Patrick TA duos, unfortunately I don't hsve anything else to compare them to but I'm thinking about expanding my collection in this area. Have you swatched the Patrick TA duos? Are you interested in picking them up at any point?
I will unfortunately not get a chance to swatch (we don't have Sephora in NL) them but I get the idea they are similar to the BB/PML ones. For now I am not planning on picking up any because none of the duos really convinces me.
I had two dior quints and I didn't like any of them, one was very very powdery and expired quickly second just very lackluster. I would like to ask if dior soft cashmere is baked gelee too?
