IT IS!!!! and then i completed the game that night. I was so happy to finally get my used copy of Super Mario Bros 2 the next day

So the key difference between the Mac and DOS versions is in the DOS version, you get quizzed on the items you're returning by actual Mario characters, but they have the same voices in the Deluxe version as their counterparts in the Mac version. The yellow mohawk guy is Toad, the blind girl is Peach, the man with the cigar is Donkey Kong, and the guy with the grey moustache is a Dino Rhino of all things. You know, from the later levels of Super Mario World?
