Interstate 820 (I-820) is a loop of I-20 in Fort Worth, Texas, of approximately 35.17 miles (56.60 km) around the city and some of its suburbs. Exit numbers begin at its intersection with I-20 in southwest Fort Worth, and continue in a clockwise direction around the city until it ends at its intersection with I-20 in southeast Fort Worth. A portion of I-820 in the northeast quadrant is cosigned with State Highway 121 (SH 121) as well as SH 183.
The northwest segment of the loop is officially designated as the Jim Wright Freeway after former United States House Speaker Jim Wright. However, the name is not commonly used, the colloquial reference by the general public is "Loop 820", or simply just 820. Additionally, the area of the highway is given based on its direction from downtown Fort Worth, for example: "North Loop 820" or "East Loop 820", respectively specify the areas to the north or east of downtown. These colloquial designations do not refer to the direction of traffic flow.
Thanks for the memories. The west side has not grown since I lived there in the 1980s but the East side has and visited a friend in a north Fort Worth suburb and the town had grown on the north side then. Keep doing videos, great work. Enjoy them from OK.

At the end of the video, I’m sure you noticed all the construction going on at the I-820 / I-20 / US-287 interchange! That is my daily commute into downtown Fort Worth every morning and as much as I hate to see the continual doubling down on car dependency, it is an infrastructure project that is sorely needed.
Commute times through the area during rush hour are in excess of double what they are at non peak times. TxDOT says 5 years, but if the I-30 / SH-360 interchange project which is a much smaller project than this and has been under construction since 2016, is any indication, this area will be under construction for the better part of the next decade

What toll transponder do you use across the country? It seems like Florida's sunpass pro covers most eastern/central states
On most of the east coast the Sunpass will work as it’s compatible with the EZ-Pass. I use the NC Quickpass which is also compatible with that system. In North Texas they have the Texas Tag which is its own system and Houston has a different system. The good thing about Houston is that you don’t have to buy a transponder and can just download an app and register your Tag in the system.
