    Man I was too late in the game to discover you before my Step 1. But at least I finally understand enterohepatic circulation once and for all.

    Awesome explanation and really like how you used a curser and a simple sketch to allow us to follow what you were saying. Ill have to show this to my professor who had a hard time explaining it to some students.
    It would be awesome to include soluble fiber's function in binding to bile during the excretion of feces which therefore lowers the individuals overall cholesterol. My nutrition teacher really thought that was important. But you just earned me as a subscriber loved the video and look forward to seeing others that im not understanding in class.

    It would have been nice if you had added a discussion about what happens to the phase 2 metabolites excreted into the bile by the liver. How much of the hormones, drugs, and toxins being excreted are being reabsorbed along with the 95% of the bile that is reabsorbed?

    How are hormones, their metabolites and endocrine disrupting chemicals recirculated into circulation vs being eliminated safely?

    • @CatalystUniversity
      @CatalystUniversity  4 роки тому +3

      It really depends on the rate of absorption through the gut and back into the mesenteric veins. If the moIecule has a high rate of diffusion through the gut into the blood, then less will be eliminated in feces, more will be reabsorbed into the blood, and it will take longer to fully eliminate.

      You should check out Karen Hurd’s theory on the effect of beans/fat soluble fiber on enterohepatic circulation and how that affects pathologies for the better. Very interesting

    Bile acids contain all fat soluble exo and endotoxins as well as bilirubin, and they need to be excreted or they will be reabsorbed causing all kinds of degenerative health problems and inflammation. Soluble fiber is the only thing that binds to these toxin-rich bile salts that must be removed. Western diets are virtually devoid of soluble fiber compared to diets before the advent of grain milling. Legumes contain the highest amt of soluble fiber and regular consumption of them can cure a myriad of health conditions mediated by reabsorbed hormones and toxins. Check out "the bean protocol" for more information. Knowledge big medicine doesn't want you to know about.
