Lillie Palmer had one of the most beautiful of bone structured faces and beautiful voice, how lucky nature was to her. She was also an artist who worked in the Picasso way and had a great eye for colour. A talented lady.
Excellent interview with one of the loveliest, most intelligent actresses ever! Not as well known or remembered as some of her contemporaries, she puts the dream factory to shame. The interviewer rose to the occasion, quickly following her intelligent responses with yet more intelligent questions. Bravo!
I loved "Change Lobsters and Dance" and "The Red Raven" when they first came out. This was my introduction to Lili Palmer. I just saw her late last night in "The Pleasure of His Company," a totally forgotten gem of a movie! Everyone who loves Lili should see it. I can't find a review of it anywhere. But, it is here on UA-cam for us to enjoy.
@@karenboromeo899 She was a Jewish German. I read one of her books two years ago. Lilli was raised in Berlin. At the age of nineteen she had to leave Berlin and emigrated to France, where she lived with her sister Irene. Later she went to England and started her acting career.
I read Palmers autobiography and her first novel, Red Raven. Her intelligence and education and sensitivity are obvious from the first page of each. Her views on life are often unexpected (for example, remarkably understanding about then husband Rex Harrison's infidelity with Carole Landis that appeared to have resulted in Landis's suicide with consequences to Harrison/Palmer's careers). Calamities occurred in Palmer's life - and yet she's overcome their effecto n her life and her outlook. She's wonderful to read- thanks to Ms. Prose for this sparkling interview - Eileen Prose was so well prepared! And thanks for posting on the internet.
I understand your first part of your sentence saying, I love this woman. But I translated the remaining part from German to English and it says, Since I can think of another one of you Lilli. What did you mean by that?
I am very shy to write what you wrote. But I can write this. She was very beautiful🙄 I hope I could write all my feelings towards her. Very talented, honest and , kind hearted woman.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful woman, such a shame we never heard more of her

You never know what a person is like behind closed doors. You see as lucky, being married and living with someone, not so lucky
