    I just needed to get to that pulse board, but after seeing this I’m just going to pull the whole motor and replace it off the vehicle! Thank you so much!

    Yep this is the only video that explains it i still say this is a headache of a job but then i look at all the other videos on the same repair on a pickuo or suburban ect and dream it was as easy as those.

    Great Video, much more complicated than pick-up trucks!!! Only you forgot to tell us we have to drop the motor first!! LOL, really that is a good idea if working from the "under" side!! My wipers don't park but since I live in AZ, wipers are pretty much optional and RainX works well enough when I must drive in the rain!! BUT my AC is failing (which is a real crisis in AZ) to route through the dash and trying to decode that system, I've been checking out the wiper motor problem on my junkyard visits. Concluding that a real saddest placed it where it is in vans!! Anyway searching for the vent system heat exchanger box (at the junkyard, where I do some of my best work) I discovered I needed to remove the dash (more bolts, but easy access) to get to the vent box and after I did that the wiper motor was easy pickings!!! Just FYI!! Another thought is to be sure the circuit box (attached to the motor) is OK as my research notes this is a big fail point!! Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/142tZ5MuJVk/v-deo.html GOOD LUCK!!

    I cant get to any of the nuts due to all the a/c duct work. How did you remove the duct work?

    Is that black plate on the gearside removable? Looks like my replacement motor didn't come with that part

    Mine only works when it wants to. Do these motors have a relay switch ? I'm thinking of putting an inline switch to the low side with an inline fuse. Mine is a 92 and from checking there seems to be several different collumn switches that could have fit this model. Do you know what makes the delay work on these vans?

    Where is the relay & or board ? Mine are intermittent on a G30. 1995. I need help.

    Possible fault could be circuit board under plastic cover, might be able to re-solder pins ,check other videos .

    That vent/duct didn’t come out so easy for me. Can you direct me as to why?

    • @joshuaskaplan
      @joshuaskaplan 5 місяців тому

      I ended up just cutting out that vent haha.
      Was fine. Didn’t have to take the dash out, but did that too and it was slightly easier to get my bearings.
      I didn’t actually take out the motor, just the pulse delay board on top with t20 driver and curvy extension. Worked out :)

    yes, very well done sir! The van I just picked up had been parked for many years and I found 2 wasps nests under near the gas tank...luckily they were abandoned! Sometimes my wipers will only work at high speed until I turn them down and they start working normal.....could there be a relay or something else rather than the entire motor?

    • @paulsjunkcars
      @paulsjunkcars  8 років тому

      thank you.
      try tapping on the windshield wiper motor with a handle of a screwdriver and see if that changes how the wipers work. if you notice a difference after you tap on the motor its possible the motor is going out. not sure about a relay. It could also be your switch.

    • @dalegribble60
      @dalegribble60 8 років тому

      +paulsjunkcars tried my wipers today. Turned on the switch nothing....tapped the motor and they started up. I'm in the process of removing the motor. Nice and tight up there.

    • @dalegribble60
      @dalegribble60 8 років тому

      +paulsjunkcars crap that was tight. Ended up having to use 1/4" drive sockets and getting my hand right up there. My 92 Vandura needed 5/16" socket. Now to figger how to get the board out from the motor.

    • @dalegribble60
      @dalegribble60 8 років тому +2

      +paulsjunkcars changed the pulse modular and wipers work great! One hint to reinstall. Once the motor is back in place, wire the arm under the hood to something to help hold it in place to help get the bolts started from the otherside. And listen to paulsjunkcars advice using the swivel attachment with black tape....made it so much easier to get the bolts back in and tighten. Just takes patience.

    Great video! Thanks. My wipers will come on when I assist them and then stop midway. I’m thinking it’s the motor. Should I try relay first?

    • @paulsjunkcars
      @paulsjunkcars  5 років тому

      Wouldn't hurt to test the relay. Good chance it's the motor. Just do some testing first. When my wipers stop working, I tapped on the wiper motor with a screw driver handle. Sometimes that helps get the motor going again. Good luck. Thanks, glad I could help.

    My 1995 G 20 van wiper motor mounting bolts were impossible to see let alone remove and replace. My wipers only worked on high and did not come to rest position. I was able to find the pulse control module cover T-20 screws and swap out the module. Problem solved. Less than $20 on eBay. If the wiper motor ever fails, I will sell the van as is cheap. No way could I see how to remove the motor.

    Instead of getting to the bolts from the inside of the van to unscrew and screw the wiper motor for the G20 chevy van. Can you unscrew and screw the bolts from the outside of the van if you cut the outside nuts on the outside firewall

      What year is your van? Mines a ‘95 and I can’t seem to pull any of the ducts out the be able to access the bolts holding the motor to the firewall. I’m considering cutting them and taping them back together somehow.

    • @Nimesh222
      @Nimesh222 Рік тому

      @@brycethomas1138ours is 91 and I was able to get all three screws out after a hour of fighting. You will have to use some extensions and swivels to get them out, and oh ya the duct piece on 91 is held by a tiny 7mm screw, hope that helps.

      What did you cut w a saw? I’m having a hard time getting any of the vent ducts to come out to access the screws and be able to take out the motor out. I’ve considered cutting the vents because I just can’t get em out it feels like they’re all one giant piece on a 95 G20.

      I think 1978 with the square headlights, Mine is 1976 with round headlights.
      My clip for removing wiper arms in underneath the pivot . Difficult to release.so i am leaving them off. The spline looks the same so i will hunt for his style of wiper arm with the visible clip . mine fit very tight so they shouldn't come off.

      I dont know any way to test and see if a wiper motor is working good. if the wipers are slow or hesitate. .ect the motor maybe ready to go out. if its not working at all there some videos out there to help you test to see if it is the motor or switch.
