I recently had the opportunity to film a video with the folks who create content for Dennis Kirk. I decided at the last minute to try and shoot some of it to give you an inside look at how ATV commercials are actually made.
By the time and ATV Commercial has made it to the internet or T.V., it looks amazing and then all you can think about is riding, new gear, and amazing Off-road machines! What you won't believe, is how "non-Hollywood" a lot of these types of commercials are shot. That is why I wanted to take the camera with me during this shoot. So that I could show you how much great work teams put into creating and editing something together from nothing more than a few well planned shots. Shots that were from the side of a road, in a field, or even in a truck!
Shooting this ATV Commercial for Dennis Kirk was a blast, and I would definitely do it again. Anytime you get to work with professionals and see how they do things is almost always worth your time. I hope this video provided you a unique perspective on how these types of videos are created and as always, I hope to see you on the trail!

I shot/directed tv commercials for almost 13yrs at a local station back in the day of the "old" BETACAM analog behemoth. These small HD lightweight cameras with built in picture stabilizers allow for excellent handheld shots and the editing software available now-a-days is impressive. Shot a few off-road spots years ago & I'm jealous. lol Nice job!
That's awesome! Too bad you don't have one of those cameras lying around now days! It would be pretty sweet just to have. Just think, those probably cost a ton more than the cameras used now too. If I remember right ..those BETACAMs were the old style ones you rested on your shoulder right?

It sure is nice ordering something from Dennis Kirk, and literally getting it the next day for no extra cost. Is there Tim Hortons in MN? My gawd, that audio turned out SO CLEAN! It's funny how something that can feel clunky to shoot can be stitched into something that demands your attention.
