    Le Creuset sponsorship yes queen

      You need to be pretty rich (or sponsored) to have that many Le Creuset pots. I just bought my first one after agonizing about whether a knock-off would be just as good. One Dutch oven will work fine for me.

    The crusty stuff on the bottom that you wiped away is called fond. It's delicious because the maillard reaction, you should deglaze instead with wine or stock to retain that amazing flavor. If you're worried about the oil or fat you can always skim it off later!

      not if you burn it like she did lol (but then she didn't wipe out the burnt fond either hahaha)

    From a Frenchman: it's coq au vin, not coq au "van"! :) And if you can get your hands on a rooster, you should use that instead of chicken. That's what "Coq" is. But if you prefer chicken, try Poulet au vin jaune with morrel mushrooms, similar to your recipe, its an amazing French classic for winter and spring! I love your videos!

      @@martinlyle2328 do you have any french dish recommendations? Beginning to explore french cooking :) Made ratatouille and I'm planning to make boef bourgingnon and coq au vin, but theyre both a little intimidatingg. Do you have any simpler french classics or a youtube channel that does french cuisine?

    Gotta say though, Lodge makes an excellent alternative to the vastly more expensive Le Creuset. I bought one for$40, in beautiful blue and it's a treasure worth passing down.
    I am very jealous of some of your more uniquely sized le Creuset.
    Also plan on testing your approach to coq a vin. Looks delicious!

    • @JacksonWalter735
      @JacksonWalter735 3 роки тому

      Same. Got a 6QT Lodge enameled Dutch oven at HomeGoods for $40 (a red 7qt one was $60). It's been excellent so far if you don't want to drop so much money on a Le Cruset or Staub. Costco currently has a promotion on their Tramontina Dutch ovens where you can get a 4Qt AND a 7 Qt for $45. Great deal and you get Costco's return policy if you don't like them.

    Great recipe! I've tried making coq au vin a few times in the past using red wine and never liked it. But I think the white version will be awesome. One of my favorite recipes to make with chicken and wine is chicken marengo, which is similar to this recipe, but it's a tomato based sauce, vs a cream sauce. And whoa!!! you were sponsored by Le Creuset? That is super awesome! But I don't think the new colors really match the pretty pastels you had in the past. Especially that dark one in the back. LOL! I'd flip if I got a whole new set of Le Creuset pots/pans!

      That’s my fav one!!!!! I love the deep purple with the gold knob. In person it goes well with the pink (and I’m not just saying that... I love purple / pink / gold like our wedding colors 😄). The chicken Marengo sounds awesome! I need to look into more chicken stew variations. Yum!!

  • @rons479

    Amazing recipe but I placed the pan in the oven and baked for an hour uncovered and it reduces the sauce which intensifies the flavors and browns the chicken even more. Stovetop and covered felt too steamed.

    Coq au vin is one of my favorite dishes! As a french girl, I can tell you this is really close to my family go-to recipe. I usually skip bacon and mustard, but everything else is pretty similar (a good Riesling is the best! This is my Alsatian side talking). Though I recommend you to try rooster instead if you can, it tastes much stronger and really adds a nice depth to the dish. And congrats for your partnership with Le Creuset! Another french national treasure, you're totally right about the durability of this stuff. I subscribed to your channel many years ago and this is my first comment, you do an awesome work! 👌🏻
