it was supposed to be a placeholder until they got lyrics in. but at the request of flea's daughter they kept the scat singing in the song as the last chorus.

I was a freshman in HS when this came out. If I remember right it was part of the Beavis and Butthead movie soundtrack. Back when MTV was still MTV and music videos were a big deal. Just a short few years after this it started to go downhill.
I feel sad that Navarro's years was too short, OHM is a hell of a album, solid tracks there. But happy that we got John back

Few guitarists can keep up with Flea's insanely beautiful bass lines, Dave Navarro was/is one of them. Saw them at the United Center, fanfuckintabulous show...my ears rang for 3 days and I loved it.

It’s amazing how music is a form of time travel.
I remember the first time I ever saw this video. I was about 7 or 8 and I woke up with the flu in the middle of the night. I didn’t want to wake my mom up so I just went to the living room, laid on the couch and turned the TV on. The channel was on MTV and this song came on immediately. I remember thinking to myself “am I dreaming or is this real?” Lol
It’s been one of my favorites ever since, and when see it, I remember that night perfectly.

Hard REALITY pill to swallow for some: “One Hot Minute is actually a Top 5 RHCP all time album. This album actually shows musical maturity and working with Dave actually got the guys out of an “artistic comfort zone” and demonstrated that they can be successful w different sounds”
it's actually for me their best album with Blood sugar. The rest is average or not that original. Like the radio -standard pop rock they are doing now... just good for teenagers. After this punk-funk style they lost something.
pe battistini I’m considered a millennial and I think is honestly up there with the best. I would say 1. Blood Sugar 2. Californication 3. OHM.
The other albums have some bangers but the albums as a whole are not very solid. Plus it is debatable that overall the best guitarist that the band has ever had is Dave Navarro (technical and skill wise). Johns sound and soul make him the better fit for the band though.

this is the quintessential RHCP song. Its my favorite. It contains all the chili peppers elements. Slow melodic start, Melodic chorus, Funk vers and awesome middlepart and a great outro. If you would show chili peppers for the first time to someone this is the song to start.

Andrea S it kept getting rescheduled at the time of release. Even RHCP themselves called it the "year of nothing". Anthony was on drugs for a start. They had been without john for a couple years too. Just was a shit hole of a time for them

Better than hillel (R.I.P and no offense to him he was great too) better than Navarro and better than klinghoffer. He just fits them and they need him. Guitar Jesus is what keeps the chilis popular. Every non frusciante album is rated lower than the frusciante ones. It ain't a coincidence. He's a genius musician and a beautiful guy
