Thankyou kindly sir and welcome aboard. Yeah have had a little break but a new video should be up shortly, almost finished our latest episode. Fair winds 🤙
The Quartermaster* This was our first anchorage in our Pacific crossing from the Galopacos in 2008! We loved the island and spent 3 weeks there. Point of interest: Our 1996 Beneteau 40 C/C had a Yanmar4jh2e diesel. I noticed when you were swapping out your battery, on the bulkhead to the left in your e gine room was a Volvo Penta fuel filter. That is the exact same fuel filter that came with our boat, only ours was mounted in the aft cabin under the queen size bed. That was a very peculiar spot for such an important filter. I replaced it with a duel Raycor 500 unit and mounted it in the engine room with a manual lift pump. It worked out great! Thanks for another terrific video!
I could not wait for your next EP. For one I am glad you are well. Secondly, no other cruising vlogs capture the essence of cruising like the both of you. I am so happy for you. I am without a sailboat at the moment for the first time in 15 years . Cant wait to get back out on the sea! I have learned much from your experiences, keep them coming. God Bless and fair winds.
Lost my last boat to Wreckers in New York Harbour in 2016, fingers crossed new boat Next Year. Hoping we’re both back afloat in a boat soon. Best Wishes. Bob. 👍🙂
Thanks for those beautiful pictures and video. Metting local habitants is the best Thiago to share their way of Life ! Still waiting for your next episode !
Absolutely enthralling footage. We love your laid back attitudes and how appreciative you are of the local culture. Well done. Hope to see more of you soon.
It's so cool seeing different channels hit the same spots. That's the 3rd sailing channel I've seen have dinner with the same guy cooking. Great video guys!
what a beauty they are lucky all the effort they have put in has had its reward ... may God take care of them and send them good sea........ a big hug from Venezuela
Cruising Meraki was there THIS year (2023) and a large rock came crashing down coming very close to Kate's parents. There are risks everywhere... buses while you cross the street...
Love this channel..and you all...!!..note to self..replace ALL batteries before a Pacific crossing...You all are such a lovely, nice, kind, sensitive couple..I am not sure I would ever leave..
Oh wow, I never expected to see this amazing island on UA-cam. Stopped at Nuku Hiva during my once in a lifetime around the world trip in 2018, what a beautiful place. The scenery with those mountains is absolutely stunning, you can only appreciate it fully in real life. So remote as well. The locals loved having visitors, rare to feel so welcomed in these modern times. This was our first port of call after leaving Panama so it was a first taste of the Pacific Islands for me. Memory rekindled seeing that archway at the cathedral, after I'd explored the cathedral and its gardens I was chased and told off by a rather indignant cockerel as I walked away from the arch! We were only there for a day and a half unfortunately, could have done with a much longer stay. Wishing you fair winds and following seas for your adventures.
Omg ! How long you been off grid in Kiwi? Been waiting for this. I'm planning the same trip thru to s.e.asia. Thanks for holding me over til it's my turn!
Could've knocked me over with a feather! First video in FOREVER! Whew, gorgeous island & I must admit that I don't understand the 'family invitation' for a meal to visit the absolutely huge, towering falls? But, it was modestly priced & they were incredibly giving with local fruits, along with (I'm guessing) a delicious tuna lunch! Sam- you seemed a little uncomfortable with those cliffs overhanging you- I TOTALLY get it! Insanely beautiful- I think one just needs to go there to actually understand the stunning nature of the location. Did you throw Rob overboard? He is kind of shy, but- after all of the travel to Nuka Hiva- he seems to have disappeared? Hope he was able to get home safely, or is still on good terms with you folks. Can't wait to see if the adventure is still on- or, is the draw of home being so much closer drawing you in? It's a long journey either way... Look forward to new content! Glad to see you BOTH, fingers crossed & safe travels on your incredibly seaworthy ocean going vessel started by Beneteau and finished by you.
Haha yeah it’s been a little while but on a roll with the editing and plenty to come. Rob got a flight to Tahiti for some surf and then home to Australia 🇦🇺. Lots of videos on the way as we make our way through French Polynesia 🤙
Not even close to the most remote. But still fabulous. I met Daniel in Daniels Bay in '89 and have been back on three subsequent trips. The Marquesas are still one of the best destinations in the world...but very rolly anchorages
As always thank you for sharing the Adventures! I'm curious as to what the native language ia there? Their english was quite good! This is the 1st I have seen of this magical place. So thanx again.
Your are welcome, thank you so much for watching!🙏🏻 They have their own marquesan dialect of the polynesian language I think. Such a special place! Take care
Thanks for tuning in. Hard to say but out in the pacific it’s just insurance, food and fuel with some navigation subscriptions really. Until something breaks that is….
Please remember: “Positive off first, Positive on fi 10:45 rst.” This reduces the chance of sparks. Lead- acid batteries produce hydrogen gas which is flammable. I saw a spark on a battery lift a 325 pound mechanic off the ground, break his glasses and spray him with battery acid. Pretty far from a good time. Thanks for your sharing your amazing experiences.
Hey man I’m hoping to head to Barbados this winter and saw your video titled “kite sail surf Barbados” and there is a really fun looking left… was wondering if that spot had a name or any more info? Didn’t wanna comment it on that specific video hoping this is more discrete! Lol looked so fun
Hey, Barbados was epic. The A-frame and right point were right next to each other just a couple miles north of Carlisle Bay on the west coast. Don’t remember the name but there is a nice bar there easy to find. 🤙
Thanks for the videos. The most remote island on earth is actually Rapa Nui alone for thousands of miles. AKA Easter Island. Was there in 1978 ans can say its not beautiful but unique.
Finest sailing channel I've found in UA-cam. Y'all may be dormant for the moment, no worries, signed onto your patreon anyway. Cheers!
Thankyou kindly sir and welcome aboard. Yeah have had a little break but a new video should be up shortly, almost finished our latest episode. Fair winds 🤙

Hello guys, I really enjoy your videos as I am finishing my boat setup. Would you mind sharing what is your yearly budget?
Thanks for tuning in. Hard to say but out in the pacific it’s just insurance, food and fuel with some navigation subscriptions really. Until something breaks that is….
What a place. Hows the no seums there??
Yeah beautiful place. Haha we left with a million insect bites unfortunately.
Never put the neg battery cable on first

There were rumors that you guys had been captured by pirates or a tribe in the South Pacific. Glad to see that’s not the case.
Haha that rumour is definitely true. They let us out on good behaviour.

The Maori call that sweet potato Kumara. From South America originally.
Ahh ok was a little more starchy but yeah similar. Cheers 🤙
Does south Polynesia require vaccination.
