I used to think strangerville was the worst but it's the only world that has a storyline and genuine lore. With the scientist and army walking round with the alien van driving round makes the atmosphere. And the western vibe you can choose whether you want to live a normal Sims life or if you want to be involved in the strangerville mystery.
@@ReginaTrans_ You will need to have a guide open otherwise for both knowing what to do and how much of it you need to do. I don't know if you can even do all the quests without it. You also can't sure someone who is infected outside of the world I think. You can't ask a military person anything if you aren't there at least.

I own all the packs. (I know, I know. It’s a sickness.) Strangerville is genuinely my absolute favorite. I’ve only played through the storyline twice and I very much wish we could turn it off, but I think it’s pretty fun. More than that, I love the look and feel of the world as well as the CAS and build/buy items. My only complaints are not being able to toggle the story on/off and how ridiculously small the world is. Otherwise it’s perfect. I wish they’d update it and give us a new story to play. That would be fun too. Edit: To answer your question, it’s set in a Sims version of Roswell, New Mexico.
I literally LOVE stangerville, journey to batu, bust the dust, eco lifestyle, get to work, outdoor retreat, party stuff, etc, the ones that nobody likes, whats wrong with me?? my sim is a gay guy like myself who sometimes dresses as a woman, he is married to a fat straight man who has an ex-wife, we adopted all the babies, I loved acquiring get to work to see my chubby husband become a detective and follow him to work, I love taking them to the outdoor retreat forest every other weekend, I love doing house chores while I dont follow him to work and stay with my sim self cleaning the house and bust the dust gives me that mood, I have trouble making parties so the party stuff pack does wonders, when my sim husband reached its max detective level, he was sent to strangervile with all his family, its literally the next game pack I dreamed about, like the continuation to his detective career and my sim self is so proud of him, then after that I played like he was sent on a spaceship to discover Batu and he take all the family again, we were so proud of the husband,..... lol. now we moved to the eco lifestyle town and I just love the whole brown sky vibe and industrial city Mostrar menos
It honestly isn't really that small? It has 12 lots, same as the growing together. In my opinion, it's just a shame that 5 of those lots are on the cliff/outlook part, as I'd definitely prefer having more lots in the town part. Most of the lots in the town are rather small, which I personally do kinda like, when I play in the world, feels more realistic to the depressing lives we live irl

I don't mind strangerville at all, it's an ok pack. but to say it's the most creative is really a long shot. it's less mundane, but could have been an awesome pack if there were more quests and epic things to do. for a gamepack the gameplay is underwhelming.
Sims 4 is way too expensive overall especially if you're first getting into it. I understand why it's hated since it's not necessary at all and there's only gameplay if you're in Strangerville itself
Think most ppl may not like it cause u can literally finish the whole gameplay in an hour and most games that cost 20 dollars last longer and include much more than what sims 4 puts out

I have to disagree. As en extreme builder, its an amazing pack to have! The debug objects are insane, the world is gorgeous and build/buy catalogue is 10/10! I can see why so many people don’t see its potential but its there. Strangerville is one of my favorite gamepack!
Yes something like filthy from city living.challange: nature reserve .This lot seems to be some sort of green house with all the plants growing here and some of those plants dont look so satisfactory. Lot trait:"Wierd" hangout (for public community lots) this lot seems to atract some ,"wierd" sims here.And they dont look so good.oh and gis is a cross pack play feture i thought of but what if the scientest carrer crossed pack with stranger ville so you can automatically get clearence to go inside the building and if you have enough logic skill ,make the cure first try.But any ways a hope i hurt somebodys head with all these words
Had this pack for forever but haven't completed the story once 😅 however, I really enjoy some of the build/buy stuff for decorating abandoned houses, especially nice for rags to riches gameplay but maybe that's just me and my love for apocalyptic/dystopian aesthetics 😬
Honestly, I absolutley love this world. Like all sim worlds it lacks things to do, but something about it just appeals to me so hard and I enjoy living there. If only there were more lots and things to actually do. The gameplay is very "meh" at most and i'm not a huge fan. It's fun for the first time, but after that you'll never touch it again lol.
I wish the mystery had connected to Bella Goth. HOWEVER… it’s a game pack with a decently-sized world and unique build/buy items. Moreover, it isn’t full of bugs. It plays as it should. I think Strangerville is underrated.

I remember when I got this pack, I had no idea it even existed, I randomly stumbled upon it- and I LOVED it. The only downsides are the lack of replay value and the usual empty-shelled world. But it genuinely is one of my favorite packs to come out of The Sims 4.
I love Strangerville! I use the CAS and the build mode items all the time! Buy items somewhat less often, but it is great for grungy/rags to riches. I believe it’s the cheapest tub/shower combo. The world doesn’t exactly have “nothing” to do, it’s just that the things to do are all related to the storyline (the weird plants, the possessed Sims, and the little curio stand) I do often play in the starter home trailer lot (not sure why you said you couldn’t do a trailer?) but yeah… the townie homes are particularly terrible in this one. 🤣 I’ve played the storyline dozens of times - there’s a lot of different ways to approach it. My favorite so far was as an investigative journalist. I also sometimes deliberately play in the world without completing the storyline - random Sims out at night behaving oddly and plants growing in the toilet can be sort of living in a bad neighborhood with mold and suspicious characters. 😏

So long as your Sim is infected before discovering the Mother, you can actually befriend her without killing her first to get all those wishes, and if your Sim is under the "possessed" emotion they have the option to plant bizarre fruit anywhere off lots, even other in worlds causing you to notice infected sims spawning in on other worlds, it doesn't work on all of them, especially not the newer ones because Maxis abandons packs but I tested it in Willow Creek an Oasis Springs. The Aspiration isn't a set guideline on how the story must develop, it just teaches you the ins and outs of the pack and its unique mechanics, there's actually a heck of a lot to do around it
This is one of my favorite packs. I love that there's a quest and I love the whole spooky mystery vibe. I love desert terrain, too. The builds are not good but I like remodeling/decorating so I don't mind. I like the NPCs in this world. I created Mulder and Scully Sims and had them complete the Strangerville quest together like it was an X-File. XD
I really wish the Sims got more content creators to help them design new packs because content creators understand what people want much more then they do
Tbh, I like strangerville cuz this pack feels like what dlc should be. Fan favorite packs like seasons should not be dlc but a pack like this works well since you don't really need it for the game to feel complete.
I have been playing the sims 4 for awhile now and I have to say, I loved strangervilles storyline/gameplay... It really felt like I was playing The Sims Bustin Out when they had all these goals they needed to hit before moving to the next location... I have said it before and I will say it again The Sims Bustin Out was the best gameplay in the sims franchise... Of course I am a console player too, so I get that the PC play was different...
this pack really gives off stranger things vibes so i'm not that shocked that i love it. i love almost everything in this pack besides the world. it's an okay world but like satch said most of the lots are un-playable. the cas and build buy are really excellent and stick to a consistent theme. it's a fun pack to mess with from time to time, so if anyone is considering buying when it's on sale, give it a go!
I recently completed Strangerville's story as one of my legacy sims is a scientist. I honestly thought it was cool, although it is annoying that after you complete the plot, vines still come out of all the utilities scaring your sims XD I loved the conspiracy guys shack. I agree, introducing trailers would be so cool, especially considering there is an actual trailer park there.
Honestly I don't feel that you have to explain why you are calling out the sims 4 teams for the lack of updates, DLC and etc. I don't think you are negative I'm so over simmer youtubers acting like everything in the sims 4 is so great when in reality none of us play without mods. F whoever is saying negative stuff about you.
I actually LOVE the build stuff, I use it A LOT. The doors are absolutely beautiful, and I love the windows too. Not hugely big on the buy stuff, but I do appreciate some of it for cluttering an attic space 🙈
I actually like Strangerville because it reminds me of the very first sims game I have ever played, and that's the Sims 2 on PSP where I think is set on Strangetown, or at least a version of it. It makes me wanna play it again. It's so different from the Sims experience it might as well be it's own thing honestly. And since that was my first game, it was actually a shock for me how different the main Sims line is when it comes to the controls lol. (The PSP game is in 3rd person view where you only control one sim)
Man I usually agree with your opinions, but ....... 1. The world is gorgeous and it looks better than Oasis Springs, also I think it's the most lots we have had in a stuff pack. 2. The build mode items have those gorgeous windows and doors and also all the grungy stuff.
I completed this pack more times than I should have, mainly to get the free aspiration points. Once one of your family members completes it and you obtain a cloning machine from the science career, the rest of the members can essentially breeze through it like a cakewalk.

I don’t know if I’ve said this yet, but -my unpopular opinion is- packs shouldn’t come with gameplay. Most of the gameplay should come in the base game so that they can build on it over time. The packs should just come with new worlds, sims, BB, CAS, etc. Basically the small things that flesh out the game. For example, imagine if the entrepreneurship skill was added to base game. Then it could have incorporated into get to work. Or oceans were added to the base game. Then we could have those bodies of water in Willow Creek made swimmable. I could go on and on. Pets and bunnies in base game worlds. Updated townies with all lifestyles and sentiments. The game really suffers because of the disjointed pack system, as Satch described it so aptly. I love creating worlds, but I shouldn’t have to go through and place every gameplay object one by one. I feel like starting a sims 4 game is crazy overwhelming because I have to go through and fix everyone’s sexuality, relationships, jobs, and edit the lots/use twisted mexi mods to edit the world. IT’S EXHAUSTING.
The thing that makes me sad about this pack is that bring back Strangeville just for a storytelling adventure is unfair. Strangeville is an epic and memorable world that has been on our memory since forever... I wish they had put more effort in building it at least similar, but upgraded, to the original one.
Honestly I love this pack! Probably my most favorite gameplay pack next to werewolves. I had the time of my life playing it and I also integrated it in my NSB Challenge. It is really unique, something we literally never had before in the sims. And I like new and unique.👍🥰
I do kind of like when the pre-made lots don't have a TON of stuff. I absolutely hate building and almost exclusively play pre-builds, and I think it's nice when they have SOME stuff in them but with room to add my own stuff to fit my specific sims.
Wish they went all out on the apocalypse side of it. Like the sims that were infected attacking you left and right, you have to hide from them and stop yourself from being infected. They could’ve also added more fun side quests to make the final boss feel more final boss like. Have some magical chickens running around at the beginning point of the story and you track them down and notice their strange activity which will culminate in the end, have sims acting oddly in town, walking around in a daze. Have loads of odd things happening like purple smog filling the skies and people coughing a lot. Finally you find the first infected sim and you have to find a hazmat suit before it’s too late. It would be so much better to have a more fleshed out story. Maybe even more different kinds of story, maybe you could even be the villain if you so choose! So many ways the story could go.
I get not liking build/buy, at least most of it anyway, however the windows, doors, and columns are BEAUTIFUL. They are the best thing to come out of the pack. I use them for every suburban matchy neighborhood I make. They are so stunning, and the woods swatches aren’t the best but if you have color themes like blue, or green, or just plain white it’s fantastic items and they are fantastic. I don’t have the pack for anything but those windows, doors, and columns tbh. Which does seem like stupid cause it’s 20 bucks blah blah, but I got it on sale, and used my birthday money so it negates it. 😻💪

6 months ago you had strong feelings for this pack, calling it "underrated" --- See what a few days playing a pack does to us = we get bored real quick and then struggle to figure out what to do with the "clutter" assets outside the world and story. I agree, it deserves no more than a 6 out of 10 :)
All Sims packs whether it be game packs, expansion etc. They make the world so small and there is always almost no buildings to go into which sucks. Or as you mentioned, not many lots which is so annoying. EA has cut corners in so many ways. What it’s now about is all about money, not the player anymore. In the early 2000s, with Sims and Sims 2 the player was always number one same as number 3. The Sims 4 has gotten lazy. I mean when they first released it, they didn’t have toddlers nor pools. Some of the most basic things. It’s the little things that make a game good.
This was the pack that made me reflect on just how much money I was giving EA for something I didn't necessarily enjoy. When it first came out I was super excited for it but I was ultimately disappointed by the gameplay. I did really enjoy the doors and windows!
Strangerville is one of those games I will play through once and just use the world for my TS2 remake of Strange Town. ...not high on my priority list though. 😂

I love this pack! I love the architecture, world, and gameplay! My super rich creepy trump style political family lives there and they’re corrupt and try to control the town and they’re the owners of the big mall I have in del Sol valley!
I love the build mode but not necessarily the buy mode. The windows and doors, fences and the spandrels are very pretty. I don't often wish for more things (more gameplay yes, more of the buy mode we already have nope) but I do wish we had a few more spandrels, foundations and some matching gates for fences. Even just more spandrel and guttering colours. I like the game play but it is a grind. . . and did Satch call the colander hat a coriander hat!?! lol
I like the world and the storyline is okay to play through once or twice I just dislike having to play it everytime I start a new game file. So I just don't bother.
I do wish there was the possibility to toggle the story on and off because I don’t live in the world as much as I would like because all the infected sims around are kinda annoying
I think it’s a fun pack, just not worth the money.. at all. It’s a linear, one-time gameplay. At it’s 20ish dollars/euros? No way.. there are other that cost the same but add actual replayable gameplay. This is effectively just purchasing a world like the sims 3 store.
I LOVE the Build/Buy of this pack. So many fairy houses were made with this windows! Just right up my alley. I don't need a new bar with every pack. That annoys me. Why is there a damn bar in every town?!

There is actually a very small cross-pack feature in that if a vampire drinks from a possessed sim, they become possessed for a short time.
idk why it's so hated by the community. strangerville is the most creative and sickest pack!

My sims lived in a bunker under a junk yard.
This was one handy pack if you don't enjoy the "pristine" look in Sims4.

My favorite game pack. Great world and CAS.
I have been playing the sims 4 for awhile now and I have to say, I loved strangervilles storyline/gameplay... It really felt like I was playing The Sims Bustin Out when they had all these goals they needed to hit before moving to the next location... I have said it before and I will say it again The Sims Bustin Out was the best gameplay in the sims franchise... Of course I am a console player too, so I get that the PC play was different...

this pack really gives off stranger things vibes so i'm not that shocked that i love it. i love almost everything in this pack besides the world. it's an okay world but like satch said most of the lots are un-playable. the cas and build buy are really excellent and stick to a consistent theme. it's a fun pack to mess with from time to time, so if anyone is considering buying when it's on sale, give it a go!
I recently completed Strangerville's story as one of my legacy sims is a scientist. I honestly thought it was cool, although it is annoying that after you complete the plot, vines still come out of all the utilities scaring your sims XD I loved the conspiracy guys shack. I agree, introducing trailers would be so cool, especially considering there is an actual trailer park there.
Honestly I don't feel that you have to explain why you are calling out the sims 4 teams for the lack of updates, DLC and etc. I don't think you are negative I'm so over simmer youtubers acting like everything in the sims 4 is so great when in reality none of us play without mods. F whoever is saying negative stuff about you.
I actually LOVE the build stuff, I use it A LOT. The doors are absolutely beautiful, and I love the windows too. Not hugely big on the buy stuff, but I do appreciate some of it for cluttering an attic space 🙈
I actually like Strangerville because it reminds me of the very first sims game I have ever played, and that's the Sims 2 on PSP where I think is set on Strangetown, or at least a version of it. It makes me wanna play it again. It's so different from the Sims experience it might as well be it's own thing honestly. And since that was my first game, it was actually a shock for me how different the main Sims line is when it comes to the controls lol. (The PSP game is in 3rd person view where you only control one sim)
Man I usually agree with your opinions, but .......
1. The world is gorgeous and it looks better than Oasis Springs, also I think it's the most lots we have had in a stuff pack.
2. The build mode items have those gorgeous windows and doors and also all the grungy stuff.
The storyline was fun !!
I completed this pack more times than I should have, mainly to get the free aspiration points. Once one of your family members completes it and you obtain a cloning machine from the science career, the rest of the members can essentially breeze through it like a cakewalk.

I just learned strangerville is basically stranger things! Or like the monsters and town, the details, are inspired by stranger things..
military, lab, and “stranger” alone have always made me think this but i’ve never heard anyone say it! the demogorgon’s mouth looks a lot like a plant too haha
I feel like the vibe from this pack it’s like low-key Kansas, or Nebraska cause they’re just like low-key give me old west vibes

I don’t know if I’ve said this yet, but -my unpopular opinion is- packs shouldn’t come with gameplay. Most of the gameplay should come in the base game so that they can build on it over time. The packs should just come with new worlds, sims, BB, CAS, etc. Basically the small things that flesh out the game.
For example, imagine if the entrepreneurship skill was added to base game. Then it could have incorporated into get to work. Or oceans were added to the base game. Then we could have those bodies of water in Willow Creek made swimmable.
I could go on and on. Pets and bunnies in base game worlds. Updated townies with all lifestyles and sentiments. The game really suffers because of the disjointed pack system, as Satch described it so aptly.
I love creating worlds, but I shouldn’t have to go through and place every gameplay object one by one. I feel like starting a sims 4 game is crazy overwhelming because I have to go through and fix everyone’s sexuality, relationships, jobs, and edit the lots/use twisted mexi mods to edit the world.
IT’S EXHAUSTING.
The thing that makes me sad about this pack is that bring back Strangeville just for a storytelling adventure is unfair. Strangeville is an epic and memorable world that has been on our memory since forever... I wish they had put more effort in building it at least similar, but upgraded, to the original one.
I play Strangetown in Sims2 so Strangerville was my favourite pack.
Honestly I love this pack! Probably my most favorite gameplay pack next to werewolves. I had the time of my life playing it and I also integrated it in my NSB Challenge. It is really unique, something we literally never had before in the sims. And I like new and unique.👍🥰

There’s some crosspack features. Vampires who bite an infected sim also get infected. You can craft juice and nectar from the fruit.
I do kind of like when the pre-made lots don't have a TON of stuff. I absolutely hate building and almost exclusively play pre-builds, and I think it's nice when they have SOME stuff in them but with room to add my own stuff to fit my specific sims.
Wish they went all out on the apocalypse side of it. Like the sims that were infected attacking you left and right, you have to hide from them and stop yourself from being infected. They could’ve also added more fun side quests to make the final boss feel more final boss like. Have some magical chickens running around at the beginning point of the story and you track them down and notice their strange activity which will culminate in the end, have sims acting oddly in town, walking around in a daze. Have loads of odd things happening like purple smog filling the skies and people coughing a lot. Finally you find the first infected sim and you have to find a hazmat suit before it’s too late. It would be so much better to have a more fleshed out story. Maybe even more different kinds of story, maybe you could even be the villain if you so choose! So many ways the story could go.
I honestly love this pack! I really wish the sims team did more packs like this, I just really enjoy how weird and hilarious this whole concept is
I get not liking build/buy, at least most of it anyway, however the windows, doors, and columns are BEAUTIFUL. They are the best thing to come out of the pack. I use them for every suburban matchy neighborhood I make. They are so stunning, and the woods swatches aren’t the best but if you have color themes like blue, or green, or just plain white it’s fantastic items and they are fantastic. I don’t have the pack for anything but those windows, doors, and columns tbh. Which does seem like stupid cause it’s 20 bucks blah blah, but I got it on sale, and used my birthday money so it negates it. 😻💪

100% recommend eating one of the bizarre fruits so you can have a member of your family wake up and snapwalk all over town at 3am every night.
Just in time for me to watch this at work and forget I have things to do and meetings to attend.

I actually really like strangerville not a must have but I even do the gameplay once in a while

I always wanted to make a modpack for strangerville, I think it's one of my low-key favorites
6 months ago you had strong feelings for this pack, calling it "underrated" --- See what a few days playing a pack does to us = we get bored real quick and then struggle to figure out what to do with the "clutter" assets outside the world and story.
I agree, it deserves no more than a 6 out of 10 :)
I do like the CAS - the maxi dress is a go to for me and I enjoying the boots. 🤷🏻♀️

All Sims packs whether it be game packs, expansion etc.
They make the world so small and there is always almost no buildings to go into which sucks.
Or as you mentioned, not many lots which is so annoying. EA has cut corners in so many ways.
What it’s now about is all about money, not the player anymore.
In the early 2000s, with Sims and Sims 2 the player was always number one same as number 3.
The Sims 4 has gotten lazy. I mean when they first released it, they didn’t have toddlers nor pools. Some of the most basic things.
It’s the little things that make a game good.
I bought back then this pack most for the items and the 'alien' flowers
This was the pack that made me reflect on just how much money I was giving EA for something I didn't necessarily enjoy. When it first came out I was super excited for it but I was ultimately disappointed by the gameplay. I did really enjoy the doors and windows!

I love this pack! I love the architecture, world, and gameplay! My super rich creepy trump style political family lives there and they’re corrupt and try to control the town and they’re the owners of the big mall I have in del Sol valley!
I love the build mode but not necessarily the buy mode. The windows and doors, fences and the spandrels are very pretty.
I don't often wish for more things (more gameplay yes, more of the buy mode we already have nope) but I do wish we had a few more spandrels, foundations and some matching gates for fences. Even just more spandrel and guttering colours. I like the game play but it is a grind. . . and did Satch call the colander hat a coriander hat!?! lol

I like the world and the storyline is okay to play through once or twice I just dislike having to play it everytime I start a new game file. So I just don't bother.

I think it’s a fun pack, just not worth the money.. at all. It’s a linear, one-time gameplay. At it’s 20ish dollars/euros? No way.. there are other that cost the same but add actual replayable gameplay. This is effectively just purchasing a world like the sims 3 store.

I LOVE the Build/Buy of this pack. So many fairy houses were made with this windows! Just right up my alley. I don't need a new bar with every pack. That annoys me. Why is there a damn bar in every town?!

I personally found the storyline extremely boring but I liked getting the cas/build buy and the world. Even though it is still one of my least favorite pack.
Military dogs would have been good cross pack play
Imma be dead serious, the lack of usable things in this world actually works for military town. So for once ea didn't break reality on that.
The world is very much like Roswell, New Mexico. Near by is Area 51. There isn't a lot to do in Roswell either! 😂
