This song is another level their best one yet! Nemophila is on another level!
Saki's lyrics dip into literature and Buddhism---"adabana" basically means a blooming plant that fails to flower, but has various metaphorical meanings in literature. She's packed the Buddhist concepts of cyclical rebirth (輪廻, "rinne"---familiar to Band-Maid fans) and impermanence (諸行無常), as well as Shakespeare, into the lyrics for good measure. Saki and Hazuki said in an interview that they recorded their solos separately without hearing what the other played, but because of some deft mastering by composer-arranger Kensuke Akiyama (who's worked with Nemophila before, Band-Maid, various other artists) the solos fit together neatly. Hazuki said she tried some three-finger picking for the first time, during recording. Saki said she was in touch with Akiyama remotely during post-production because she was busy with her Mary's Blood duties. Give credit to Akiyama for some great work on this song.

@@hiawatha.g Thanks. Likewise I always enjoy reading your comments. I put slightly more detail based on the interview into the comment on Mr. Rock and Roll's reaction to Adabana. Saki studied Chinese at an elite Japanese private university and has a literary side to go with her music side (you don't get into that university unless you're quite bright). I've long been a fan of Saki and am glad she's getting into lyrics (she wrote a few for MB but mostly it was Eye). Her commitment to her instrument and her music is so admirable, whether it's the classical guitar she learned in her school days or the instrumental club gigs she has played with both a rock trio and a jazz trio over the years. She represents the best of her profession.

After the Revive album came out I wondered how crazy good they were going to be in a few years. Well here we are 6 months later and they are already blowing my mind.
I already liked the song when I heard it for the first time during their last live-stream concert. But since the release the day before yesterday, I like the song even more with every listen. And the message of the lyrics and the video are just fantastic. For me, it's their most polished and mature song so far. 🔥🤘🏻

I just discovered them while I was listening the band Lovebites. They are so talented, they’ve got hook, rhythm, tightness, so easier to do in studio but you have to play the damn song. They’re songs are so top notch, even in Japanese I don’t mind at all. Music is universal. Forget this, when you are on the spot that’s the real thing, hearing them live you see how good they are, so incredible and pleasant to look. Top Japanese band for me. First song I heard from them, Maiden’s Aces High. ❤️

I'm not much of a musician but that was excellent! These ladies never disappoint! Ever since I first heard Oiran, I knew these ladies were going to make it big. I guess that's what you get when you get some of the top female musicians and put them together!

But that is a matter of personal taste, of course. I am in Metal heaven each and every time I listen to this.
Iron Maiden and Lovebites produced many Metal masterpieces, too, but this is my personal favorite.

You definitely should check out "Embraced by the flames" from Undead Corporation! The vocal is beautiful, the guitar riff is phenomenal. I think you will fall in love with it! Highly recommend to dig more in with Undead Corporation band if you are a mental head, just like me. Sadly they don't have any music video
