Great vid. In the roller step, you could just skip the vinegar and bicarb and just add salt water, since that's essentially all that's left once the acid and base have neutralized.
I imagine it smells way less now that you've removed the dead rat from your drain.

Thank you sir. Never knew how the bathtub drains worked but your tub drain unclog video and a couple screwdrivers (tools but i could use the other) and my snake and i was able to retrieve the rat someone tried to put down my tub drain and the drain ran great after. Thanks again.
More than usual odor coming from on top of the roof, the vent pipe
We had a septic tank Why would it be more smelly through the vent pipe on the roof?
Our shower drain smells awful but only when dry. We called a plumber and he said the trap was fine and snaked the drain without any issue.
Unfortunately it didn’t help the smell. I read that it could be a toilet leak but this is VERY clearly coming directly from the shower drain!
Will try this method, however, we didn’t this once before! Thanks! Any other tips would be so much appreciated!!
I had an issue with my drain about a month ago, it stink like sewe but only when the water is running. I had to call a plumber, they cleaned it up (they used a vacuum) and smell was gone. A week ago the smell started to happen again 😢 do you think it's some build up again causing that smell so soon? Or maybe os something wrong with the p trap?? Again smell is only present when water is running
Did you open it and look at it yourself? Maybe since they only vacuumed the larger particulates and hair, there may still be a film of build up and sludge on the interior of the pipe that smells. I would suggest the baking soda and vinegar like this video, and let it sit for 5 minutes, then rinse out with hot water.
Clean the dang floor too😂
I do cleanings for people who have hit rock bottom and are unable to do it themselves. Recently I encountered a bathroom with an overwhelming smell. I removed and disposed of the toilet seat and cleaned and sanitized the toilet, washed the floor twice and still could smell it. Then i opened the shower door. It's coming from the drain and I don't think I can do it. Is this a job for the plumber?
I would follow the video first. You can probably get rid of the smell with this method. Otherwise a plumber can perform a smoke test
My drain is about a year old and has never been used and stinks. I think they call that a dry socket??? When I let the shower run, it goes away. I just have to make sure that I run the water every now and then.
Sounds like the water in the trap evaporates and allows sewer gas to enter the room. You can pour a little water down the drain every week or so, or pour a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the drain. The oil will rise to the top and theoretically prevent the water from evaporating.
Same here. Only our smell comes back after 12 hours or so.
It was fine until the shower was not used for an entire week and ever since then, it smell by shower time again. Trap is apparently wet?
Was there a water trap? I didn't see one.
@@jamesm9534 I'm not sure we are on the same page here! The trap is glued in and that is on a slab...there is no removing it
I m watching the video and my hand is closing my nose and holding my breath LOL..I bet that smell like something death animal YIKES. Can you put clorox solution to the pain brush so that it will kill the potential bacteria or any dangerous pathogen and mold?
Yes it stunk! As for bleach, I suppose you could but it is a constant source of germs. I think you will find that by cleaning it like in the video, you won't have to do it for awhile (I haven't had to).
Is that a mouse?? 😮
LOL! It certainly looked (and smelled) like one, but it was just a giant bunch of hair!
Unless a person is disabled, and unable to organise help, there is NO excuse for this level of unhygienic filth ! It is part of every normal house cleaning routine. Just remove hair/soap every 1 or 2 weeks and pour some disinfectant down the drain. It's just lazy dirty (and a health hazard) - like many car interiors.
thats a really nasty shower. guess people who doesnt clean their bathroom get that
Great video love the paint roller idea
It's gross but it works well!
