I never watch all these money saving tips or any videos that has money involved fully cause I don’t learn. But this video stood out for me and found it way to gain information without any confusion. Got a new sub!!
Do you know what software they use to round up? I have an idea but looking for infrastructure that has low transaction fees (for a roundup app idea). Do you know what Open Banking infrastructure they're using or how I can find out?
The money is held in a digital wallet with Barclays, so if Plum goes bust you’ll still be able to get your money from Barclays. However it’s not protected if Barclays goes under. It’s different in the interest accounts as they’re with Investec and protected up to £85k via FSCS
Hi Andy do you know of an app like plum that can be used out side of Great Britain as we have heard about this app but as we are in Aus we dont have acsess to it.
I noticed you can save by DD linked to Amex. Does that mean that I can get points on Amex and interest in Plum for the same cash? I will just pay back amex from plum every month end
Hi. Thanks for the video, great job. I'm using Plum up for the last couple of days. Can I still open ISA account somewhere else or is Plum the same thing as the ISA? Sorry if that's silly question.
I’ve opened a Plum account and linked it to my Barclays Current account, I then opened a second pocket in the hope that I could link that pocket to a different account, but it’s linked it to my Barclays, so with the free version can I have multiple pockets with DD’s from different banks? How do I close or delete the second pocket that I don’t want unless I can link that to a different bank? Many Thanks Steve
You add different accounts use the chat bot on the app and they will guide you better. I've done it for my daughters bank account too so I can put money in from my investments so she has money when she is 18
Hey Andy, It’s not allowing me to set up another pocket other than the primary pocket that’s opened when you first start up the account? Have Plum changed something that you don’t need to set up another pocket to get the 0.25% interest rate? Or have they removed the feature? I’ve literally just setup the account, so don’t know if it takes a day or something to show up Thanks!
Hi Braski, you can still set up the Easy Access pocket with the free Basic version of Plum. Maybe it does take a short time after opening the account to verify things?
You can use the app chat online and get answers within hours I use that every time I have an issue and it gets sorted within 24hours more often than not.
Looking at this after being with chip. I thought chip had the round up feature but it doesn't. Can you just choose the round up only method or do you have to use the AI function as well. Also are features like the LISA or investments not available on the free version
I applied for an aqua card a few days ago, only for it to be denied. I am 18, have no debts, no payments to make and I expect to increase my net worth. Why was I denied? This annoys me as I can’t even get the basic credit builder cards straight away, which prevents me from being able to prepare for any future morgage. Please help.
Have you looked at the eligibility checker to see if there are other cards that might accept you? I’ll do a video soon on other ways to boost your credit report, but registering to vote is one. Do you rent? There are services which will use those payments to help
@@BeCleverWithYourCash yes I used a comparison site I can’t remember which, I think it was go compare. The few it had pop up were aqua and marble and the cards apart of that group. I filtered to cards aimed to build credit too. Tesco I already checked beforehand and I wasn’t eligible. I can’t even be eligible for cards liek Aqua or Marble. I am registered to vote, and I live with my parents with no rent payments. I cannot see a reason why as to why I can’t get the most basic card right now.
Totally. I'd say go for something like the Virgin Money M Plus account as a separate savings pot as you get 2.02% interest on the first £1k saved - maybe a good place to move the Plum savings each month?
Any advice on the plum savings account 2 years on from this video? I've just started plum and I'm just using primary pocket what can I use for better interest?
Just save you money in a bank - open a saving account within a bank. I would question all these flashy apps that keep popping up. Ultimately it's about money discipline, better to learn that than put money in a plum pocket.
I’m with you - but I know lots of people do struggle to do this, so I really like this innovation. It’s not a bad idea for good savers too as it can help add even more to your savings pot
I get you but for younger people I believe this app is helpful. I’m only new to the workforce and my money came from my parents for a long time. I don’t want to struggle saving money till I get used to it or go through something that required me to have saved money. I think this app will help me save some money without struggling too hard and probably be able to save on our own in the future. That’s just my opinion.
@@divineakande6654 Fair point. Ultimately you do what's best for you. But if I could go back in time I would tell my younger self to save money early. Thanks for the reply and all the best for your new career.
Ese tipo de negocios son muy riesgosos. Colocar el dinero alli podria causar inconvenientes a futuro. Tendria que asesorarme bien con un experto para decidir invertir.
Savings ? What the hell are savings? We’re living in hand to mouth times , don’t come to us with false ideals and unachievable goals. Stick your app in the bin with the rest of the spam.
Thanks Mark. Yes, I'm always aware that we've a very divided country on savings - something that has been stretched even more by the last year. But I do think apps like this can help people prioritise where their money goes and hopefully build up some savings. Of course it won't be possible for everyone.
Wow who hurt you. Some people fo save money if you cant save that's fine but I found this as valuable information. Just cause this isn't for you Mark doesn't mean it won't be for someone else. The app has helped me save alot never noticed cause I had forgotten about the app.

Hello! Can I just do the savings but or do I have to do the investment part as well?
I've been using it since October and saved 1k without noticing it at all. Great video Andy.

Informative video, thank you! Can you cover the investing bit of Plum as well? Thanks.
Thanks! I only downloaded the app today and wanted to know whether it’s any good. I get nervous about those things. But you have reassured me, thanks!
Is the plum Cash ISA any good?
Thanks Andy I have my first job and want to use an app to help with savings that is better than just using my bank
Happy to help
Very helpful.Thank you
I dont like the combo saver. How do I turn that off!? Its taking way to much money on my current account.

Andy do they do a credit check and if they do what sort of check is it soft or hard? Thanks
Hi Rarr. There's no credit check as you're only opening a savings account
If you set up Automatic and Payday is that classed as two separate direct debits
What's better free-trade or plum?
Very helpful thank you.
Anyone used the risk features such as savings and investments. Is it worth it?
Great review thank you, ver clear and decisive 🙏
Can you stop interest when saving?
Very Very Helpful Thank you 😊
Hey I'm trying to set up a direct debit on this plum app for my nationwide switch and I can't find an option to do so on plum where is it please 😢

Hi Soumitra. As long as you're on the basic Plum tier you won't get charged for using this Primary Pocket or the free auto-savings feature
