- San Gimignano, Italy is a medieval hilltop town in Tuscany, about 1 hour and 10 minutes southwest of Florence by car.
The city is famous for it's tall towers, remnants of a time of great wealth when whoever had the biggest tower had the biggest...you get the idea. Of the 72 ancient towers, 14 still remain. You might recognize the towers from the video game Assassin's Creed 2, which was based on the city.
The medieval architecture, stunning views of the countryside, and the best gelato shop in Italy make San Gimignano well worth a day trip. See all there is to do in this beautiful Tuscan town in the video.

And yes! That is some of the best Gelato I have ever eaten!
It really was! We still dream about it! 🍨
My husband and I packed light, so Mike pulled the carry on. I said "what are you doing?" We washed our clothes in a laundry mat in San Gimignano. Great fun!!
Haha great memories! I'm sure it wasn't easy to pull on those streets!
We knew you wasted 10s of thousands of dollars on your poly sci degree before discovering the gelato school, Stevo
You knew and didn't tell me? That's on both of us then! 😊
