LG StanByME Review - Impressive In More Ways Than One
Вставка

- This is the LG StanByME and it is honestly bizarrely interesting and definitely impressive in more ways than one. To cut to the chase, this is in essence a 27" monitor that you can take off the grid and use it anywhere you would want in a house, an office or more.
We honestly enjoyed it thoroughly and could think of a few unique use cases for it when this is just perfect. The price though... might be a little too impressive.

Well, that was a fantastic overview! Thank you for taking the time of making this video regarding the LG stand by me.
Thank you! Appreciate the view and glad it was of help!
We are getting one for our daughter (age:7) - so she can have a tv in her room that can be used elsewhere in the house when she isn't home (like the kitchen or in the nursery). It's a way to have a tv in a kid's room SOMETIMES but not all the time!!
HI
Thank you for the information. I also want to know, if the screen could be touched by using Lg pen.
And could i connect the Ipad with the
Screen.
Thank you in advance
Thanks for a comprehensive review! I am thinking of getting this for myself as a graduation gift. Love the idea behind it. I am wondering do you think they will come out with a higher resolution?
Hi. Great review. Will my PlayStation work well plugged in?
Thank you so much for this excellent review. Content was very organized and easy to follow even for a non-tekkie senior citizen like me.
Thank you! Appreciate the view and glad it was of help!
Can you only download tv apps our are there apps for example like games or drawing?
Thanks for an awesome review!!!!
Glad you liked it! We appreciate the support!
Is there any alternative tvs similar to this?
Dude! There's a a new version called the Standby Me Go! It's a suitcase version of that display! I would love to see you review it! Amazing review of this video!
I thought u made it up there is a product !!
Reminds me of that in the beginning of Tom Cruise’s “Vanilla Sky,” except it doesn’t move around anywhere and the TV set is black. The one movie that predicted this future TV set
Does connection of a windows pc allows the touch screen to still works on the windows?
Be great for visiting grandparents or by bed if you were ill or outside in garden or kitchen for cooking or homeschooling
How can I remove the computer off the stand to connect the cord? I but the stand on before plugging it in? Help
Great video! Loved the way you explained it!
Thank you! We always try to do our best and get better with every video!
can you recommend a touchscreen TV? thanks
Love your review, but you didn't plug anything into the HDMI? Does the Touch Screen work on say Windows 11 or a Mac when you mirror it? You totally forgot the HDMI port and USB port.
Awesome content as always
Thank you!
Can you pair it with your camera?
can't wait to make this my next ipad
I would do it for a our 400-500. All of my televisions are LG, so I am a loyal fan, but that price is TGH.
Awesome, my brother-in-law has this
My question is can it ps remote play app work on this LG stand by me?
Is there the web search option?
Can you connect a wireless headset on this monitor?
Hi! So can I use it while it's connected, for example if it runs out if battery and I was to continue using it?
Yes, just plug in the mains and you can use it just like any other monitor.
Malaysia sudah ada stock x??
great explanation and review. If I received this as a gift I wouldn't complain but here in Canada 🇨🇦 it cost fifteen hundred.
Just under $1294 CDN at Costco this week. Lemme know when it's $400.
Can you connect this to a Mac (HDMI to Thunderbolt) to use it as a 2nd sreen?
Yeah for sure. That’ll work.
Do you know when this will be available in the uk?
Hmmm, we can’t say for sure. You’re gonna have to check in with the local LG peeps.
HAVE A question sir and ty for this Awsome tutorial, Clash of clan is a playstore game that I have love for 8 years, My tablet that i own is getting old and i have always wanted bigger tablet or monitor. Does this play playstore games well or not really, Have a great day and thank you again for this video
Great review.. can you connect wireless earphones to this?
Can you play movies from a usb stick attached to its usb input?
Thanks for the video!
LG lost me with the height and battery life.
I guess they and the competitors will make better models as the basic idea is very good. The size of the display and the mobility is what I like about it.
Important question is it stable around kids and pets?
Can you use Bluetooth headphones with it ?
Can it be used for zoom / teams meetings ? If I connected / mounted my phone and ised airplay so i could use as a “monitor” i would love a set up in my gym area for clients so we could interact or record so i can see what my content looks like in a larger scale
Mirroring for zoom meetings is in Android only: ua-cam.com/video/PAHjc5ElvZI/v-deo.html&pp=ygUPU3RhbmJ5TUUgcmV2aWV3
Oh i Need the same Information!!!
currently use roku on non-smart tv. Can I load any channel I want...like "faith and family" or is it limited in streaming channels?
Also - is the "material" on the back wash/wipeable?. If it is just fabrice I can imagine it will look terrible in a short amount of time. thank you.
If it’s apps you want to install on the TV, it will be whatever is available on LG’s webOS, which to be honest is quite limited compared to android TV.
For Roku, they do have more offerings but mainly apps for the US market.
Does it work for cable like DStv something like that?
If it’s a HDMI connection, we guess it should.
How does move around? Is it on wheels or no? Since I'm in a wheelchair, wheels would make it easier for me to move it around. Also, can you hook up coax? That's what I wanna use it for.
RJ
It has wheels underneath. As you are in a wheelchair keep in mind you need to set it up (you only need screwsdrivers). It has no coax cable compatibility only hdmi and usb
@@VolumePerfection Is there a way to make it coax compatible? And can I see the wheels?
RJ
Can you extend your laptop screen on it? Or only mirror your laptop?
Im pretty sure if you cast your screen it will be mirrored.
If you use the HDMI in the back then you will enable to see it in windows display settings to extend it.
Of course, you can extend your PC screen via wireless connection. It's more than 10 years old technology.
Can you use in the back yard?
Yes, you can use the LG StanbyME in the backyard. It’s a portable, wireless device with a built-in battery that lasts up to 3 hours.😀

You missed another use option. Anyone that lives in a condo and wants to sit outside to watch TV on their balcony without have a power cable running across your small 7' by 10' urban balcony. Great for downtown urban living in mid rises and high rises.
I'm going to wait for them to bring out a 4k one
but, when will that be ?
Can the monitor works without the stand I would love to mount it on the kitchen wall
How much ?
Can you show how to disassemble the entire unit..we are moving…
Bluetooth to pair a wireless keyboard?
What is the mobile cradle clip for?
To use your phone as a camera and mirror it. So for zoom for instance. The monitor does not have a camera or mic.
Good bless u lg company and completely win go ahead
Can you turn off motion smoothing?
You should be able to as it basically uses the same OS as their TVs.
Does it have and can it play youtube tv?
Yeap, it sure can.
Can I put a camera on it and use for video calls?
The LG StanByME does not have a built-in camera and it doesn’t support an external camera for video calls. However, it does support screen mirroring from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Have bought one from South Korea. Live in the states. Is there anyway to convert it to US mode? Or just best to return it?
Oh? We actually aren't really sure about this. You might want to check in with LG and see if there's any way to do that!
I bought one as well and the only thing I can do is hook it up to my fire stick and watch everything from there, Netflix, Amazon prime, and search the web
Why on Earth would you want to do that? Why not switch all of America to South Korean mode? 😎
@@gen-x_dude actually bought it on FB market lol for cheap. Like new. I didn’t even know until I got it home to setup it up. Can’t do nothing but UA-cam and surf the web. Korean model doesn’t have all the stuff that American version does Netflix etc etc.
But I just end up buying the one from LG during the restock 2 weeks ago or so. So now I have both models. Lol
What is "US mode"? The monitor buys a truck, a gun and eats a diet of McDonalds 3 times a day?
Does it have an option to use it for a slideshow in an office ?
Just to check. Is the screen matte finish? Is it able to handle screen glare?
Yes, it is indeed a matte finish.
Matte is garbage. 🤮🤮🤮
Glossy has superior picture quality.
@PSYCHOV3N0M yes but the glare on glossy sucks
Can you charge and use?
Yes of course!
Do it take pictures
Can Amazon Fire stick work on it?
It has an him port, so yes
How much in UAE 🇦🇪
I would love it. Dont have tv in home. Watching netflix on laptop. So I would move it to sofa. And its beautiful design. All other stands are ugly. Unfortunately its nit sold in Europe? Also to monitor only 1080 resolution😥
The resolution is unfortunate but understandable given that it can be battery powered.
Does this work as pc too
Technically it can't function as a standalone PC but it runs on WebOS, so you can download and run some apps.
❤️
Can it play touch based games like angry birds?
It's a touch screen using WebOS, so if there are still games for WebOS, yes. I used to have a POS HP Touchpad that used WebOS and I had a great marble game on it called Sparkle.
Nice tv but since it’s an LG tv I don’t think you are able to get paramountplus on it though unless you use the airplay feature from your phone or tablet on it or not though.
Amazon has a dupe that uses android apps!
My LG CX has Paramount Plus, is it just not available on all models?
i want that tv
So do we…
Id literally order one right now for 1099 pound but I want it 4k has id watch a lot of films on there and anime
They should make this a 27 inch tablet. With the stand and everything. With enough CPU for gaming. Imagine that. Gaming on a 27 inch in bed while not needing to hold a giant tablet, while it's on a stand.
I have LG srand by me go cannot change Location or country USA What can I do
To change the location setting on your LG StanbyME, follow these steps:
Swipe down from the top of the screen.
Touch and hold the “Location” option.
If you don’t find “Location,” tap Edit or Settings.
Drag the “Location” option into your Quick Settings.
Doesn’t look like you can buy this in the uk. I travel so could come in handy. Also I have an outbuilding which would be useful
Update. It’s finally available in the UK now!
Can you watch tv on it ?
If it’s online, sure.
Almost makes me want this, but 1080p is a deal breaker

When America release?
Hopefully soon!
its now available in the us
Will it be available internationally?
Cool
whatever sounds perfect for the office!
Can you FaceTime on it? Does it have a camera?
Uh no. FaceTime is exclusively with Apple.
I think you can with AirPlay.
Does it have a camera on it so my girlfriend can use for her zoom yoga classes
No but it comes with a phone holder you can put on it which gives you the ability to use your phone as a camera.
This is wayyyyyy to expensive for what it really is a tv. The best thing about this is the stand.
The price is nutty. They should be charging half and the monitor/TV should be 4k.
No not really.. it’s a OLDD TV + Tablet + stand + battery
It’s acctually pretty underpriced, LG did a good job making it affordable
@@estebanodI’m guessing you have 10 then. Smh.
And they say it'll only last 3 years 😮💨😮💨🙄
Resolution needs to be higher.
I got one brand new for sale
Would be nice if it was 4k oled
Being 27’ no need to be 4k. 1440p would be more than perfect. I do not understand why it’s not OLED to be honest! :(
Can you play PowerPoint presentations
You can mirror and so yes you can.
Bro the highlight of movie where man fight a Giant spider what's the name. 🤔
Demon Slayer?
@@Terafied I appreciate Bro and I've subscribed your channel 😉✌️
The guy in the water fighting the giant spider looking thing? That was The Witcher. It’s on Netflix
I wonder how it is running emulators so I can play Playstation 1 PlayStation 2 Playstation 3 NES Sega on and on and on but can it handle GameCube if it can handle GameCube I'm in I'm looking for something like this that I can run emulators on and play every console if it can at least run GameCube and PS2 then you should have no problem running any other lesser system through emulation and if you can do that I'm in and I'm buying one
My friends think I'm a wizard because I can play every system all the way up to the PlayStation 4 on my phone with a PlayStation 4 controller hooked up to it running on my TV through USB HDMI no lag on playing literally PlayStation 4 PlayStation 3 PlayStation 2 PlayStation 1 PSP PS Vita Nintendo switch Nintendo GameCube NES Super NES Sega Genesis Nintendo 3DS all on my phone you don't need a concert anymore as long as you got a powerful Android phone and a wireless Xbox controller or PlayStation controller you have a system download emulators go to a ROM website download ROMs open up the emulator open up the ROM and play it and if you get the Razer Kishi version 2 you just now turned that phone into a awesome handheld that can play any console then when you get home you can hook it up to your TV just like the Nintendo switch and play Nintendo switch games when the Nintendo switch was released the processor was already five years old why they won't update the processor in the Nintendo switch I have no idea I thought the OLED model would have at least a better processor so a new Android phone will blow a Nintendo switch out of the water with Graphics capabilities and emulation why buy a Nintendo switch when you could buy a tablet and some kind of tablet controller and make that a switch it looks like a switch to I have an 8 inch Samsung tablet with a switch Lite controller attached to it it honestly looks like a switch and people think it is until I'm like nope I can play switch games on it though
It’s just a display, so as long as output via HDMI, it’ll work fine.
i would buy one if it is below $500 USD.
Is this work 1k? Just seems a bit overpriced
So this wouldn’t be the best to use with a game console
40} would be great
when he says it’s works off grid does he mean with out internet it will still work
headfones connect with tv
4:32
What is your videos so dark?
I wanned so I can dj.. used it with my virtual dj
I mean it’s cool but you could just get an iPad with a stand or use Vision Pro or wait for future Vision Pros 😂
I just bought one on line from LG for $999.
In what currency? 25 countries have their own $.
can i play ps5?
Yeah I want to know this too
It's kinda cool, I could see myself using it for UA-cam music tutorials learning guitar, piano or ukulele, but at Costco Canada it's $1300. Hard pass at that price. It's a low-res monitor on a stand. It's not worth more than $400 to me. I'm not a fan of LG products either. I own two and both have failed. A fridge and a monitor. I won't ever buy LG again. All my Samsung gear is going strong, 10 and 15 yrs old.
Needs a webcam
Would’ve been useful for sure!
So my employer is losing her sight. This may be good to replace her tiny tablet.
doesn't make any sense, better buy just a large screen and connect it to your laptop
