WHAT A DREAM to sew with this thread
I can’t thank you enough😘
Good job matching sleeve stripes.
You are so fun to watch! These videos are helping me to gear up and be ready to try my first ever dress pattern! I've never made anything other than quilts and bucket hats, so wish me luck 😊
Alexandra Brown you’ve got this!!!! Share it with us on FB or IG when you are done!! I’d love to see it!!
I am so glad I found this dress and am making this with a nursing access now. I hope it turns out great! I am using DBP and am even stretchier version of a matching fabric for the lining. BUT I'm making it into a top version because I don't think I have enough fabric to make it a dress.
Wonderful! Hope it goes well.
I thought I'd watched all your videos and stumbled on to this one. Just ordered the pattern and will put a sewing plan together for it
TY for all your videos, they're enjoyable and easy to follow
Wonderful! I hope you love it!
Love this dress! I serge my pockets the same too :) I'm also like you. Once I start an outfit I have to finish it as quick as I can! Thank you for all your tutorials

Kathy Kitchen right!?
I started this dress today! I'm too tired to sew anymore tonight, but I will finish it tomorrow. Your tutorials are the reason I felt confident to try knits. I'm honestly having so much fun sewing with knits.
I just wanna say I love your videos! Bought the pattern and looking at fabric to make this dress.
Live your enthusiasm
Great idea marking center when gathering
Your teaching is down to earth and easy to follow. I am self taught by watching You-tube videos, so thank you so much!
thank you!!!
I'm a Baby Boomer, so I made a lot of these dresses in high school in the 60's in cotton prints or checks with a metal zipper. Anybody remember those? What a trip down memory lane!! So happy to see this pattern come back and can't wait to make it in a French Terry knit. I am going to purchase it ASAP! Thank you for another great tutorial Diana. You're the BEST!
You are so kind! I love seeing trends resurface! I hope you love it!
Wow I think I can do this thankyou for making it so easy to follow.
This is a good tutorial for sewing this dress and you do a great job. Don't worry about getting hung up on the appropriate words, the viewers "get" what you're communicating.
artisticrabbit AtEase yay! I’m glad I’m understood! I need a person sitting there behind the scenes with cue cards when I can’t remember the words I’m trying to say! 😂😂
You are fun to watch and learn from.
Just purchased this 90s dress pattern. Carn't wait to sew it together. Mag UK England
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it!
Had my eye on this pattern for a long time =it was good to see you make it up and I will definitely be making one soon!
Wonderful! Thanks for watching.
I've been wanting to give the 90's Dress pattern a try for awhile now. The release of the updated version is the perfect excuse to go for it!
I have this fabric! I think I know what I’m going to do with it now!! 😍😍
I love the fabric - may I ask where you got it? Thank you!
Julie Blake olgas closet!

I love Ellie and Mac patterns and really appreciate the tutorial videos that you post! They give so much more confidence before I start a sew.
Great tutorial - thank you for explaining the use of different types of knit for lining or under, very helpful as I didn't know about some knits sagging. Also LOVE the no neckband....yay.
Got a new serger for Christmas and trying to sew as many of my patterns as possible so I can learn how to use it! Making this one for my daughter since she needs some winter church dresses.
Got a singer serger for Christmas and this is the first project I’m working on, this is such a great pattern for beginners like myself
Just got this printed out A0 at a copy shop after purchasing last year. I can't wait to give this a try! ❤️ Thank you so much for your tutorials I love E&m for this reason I learn so much better this way. Stay safe x
I bought this pattern. Always happy to see a tutorial when I get a new pattern.
I have bought this pattern and was delighted to see a tutorial I love your no nonsense quick sew ups and the patterns are perfect I get mine printed on A0 size so easy
Pinking shears are amazing
Enjoyed your video... Thank you. Is there perhaps a full sew along that shows the actual serging part as well for us newbies?
Brilliant tutorial thank u x
subsribed and a Ellie and Mac addict hahahah
That’s a cute pattern for kids too.
I have this pattern but haven’t sewn it up yet, glad to find your tutorial.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you Diana, I have bought the pattern and going to check my stash for a suitable jersey. It looks super comfy to wear
great job
Brilliant, thank you 😊, I would love to know how you used your sewing machine to make those gathers so easily 😀
I love this dress!!!
Thank you very much it's will be my first Elli and Mac pattern that I sew ❤ Greeting from France 👋🏾
You’re welcome 😊Bonjour!
Making this dress today! super excited. Thank you for the tutorial
You can do it! I hope you love it!
I love dresses with pockets! Great tutorial 😊
I eyeball hems, too. I use a glue stick instead of pins, though. With the hem glued, you can really zoom it through the machine, and no slipping or bias folds. 😊
Elizabeth nice!!! I might have to try this!!
I like the Wonder tape.
You matched the seams up good.
I love your tutorials. You made me inspired to sew again.
Wonderful!
Hi, just found you. Great tutorial. Subscribed and will be binge watching the other vids. Thank you for sharing your skills & fingers crossed I may win the draw 🤞🤞🤞😊
Really helpful tutorial. Thank you. The explanation about the lining was really useful
❤️ you’re welcome!
I am already subscibed, I have enjoy your hacks and sewing on knits,
Thanks. I am so glad to hear that. 💙
I love that fabric choice. Would not look good with my skin tone. Is there another color it comes in?
Great tutorial, as always, I’m so looking forward to making this dress
Just bought this gorgeous design. Can’t wait to make it. Thanks for your fabulous patterns and brilliant videos. Xx
Super cute pattern
Thank you for the tutorial, I'm loving this dress too!
love your patterns
Love this dress 👗❤️❤️
Great job on your pattern matching:) I'm in the process of making my first 90's dress and can't wait to finish it.
Good job Diana! 😂 I've been thinking of getting this pattern and now that it's been updated I'm gonna do it. 😁
I have a basic Singer serger but it does the job.
I'm actually a crier myself. I also cry when I get angry!
During my pregnancy was the worst, I also had Hyperemesis Gravidarum and felt so horrible. Once I got a phone call from some salesperson and I felt so sick I just started bawling over the phone. 😂😂😂 Poor girl, didn't know what to say to me. 😅🤣
Moa Nyd 😂😂 that’s something I would do too!! I literally cry over all kinds of emotions! It’s crazy!! Haha
Thank you Diana for this video, it has given me the confidence to finally start my first dress, and answered my query about what to use for the lining :-)
You are so welcome! I know you can do it!
Thank you for the pocket tip.
Girl, you are a hoot! My son and you are cut from the same pattern.
Excellent pattern matching “Good Job” Thank You for the tutorial very inspirational 🙌🏻❤️

Cute dress ❤️
Bunchy uppy....you speak my language 👍
Jan Callahan 😂😂 yes!! Someone gets me!!
i love this, i adore your fabric, and i had to ask my grandma and she said the scissors that make a zigzag were called pinking sheers in her day hahaha ;o)
Thank you Diana, I think I’ll get this pattern. Love your hoodie what pattern is this I love the hole for your thumbs in the sleeve. Thanks again for a wonderful video
Thank you for the tutorial , I just bought that pattern, what height are your patterns drafted for please thank you
Hi! The Curvy adult sewing patterns are drafted for the height of 5'5" with instructions on how to adjust for your side waist and height. The Straight Fit adult sewing patterns are drafted for the height of 5'10".
Thank you so much
I measure and pin.
When using your serger. Are you cutting off a seam allowance?
Why not use a gathering foot?
How was that gathered so quickly?
Is there a label or any identify info on your thread catcher bag for your serger? I searched but didn't see anything as useful! Thanks!
Juki makes a great serger. I noticed on the sleeve pattern it has a triangle that says front. Am I supposed to go by that when pinning in the sleeve? Would you suggest hand basting the lining and the bodice together so it doesn’t slip around? Every time that ironing board starts wobbling, I freak out thinking that iron is going to fall off! Normally there is markings where you stop and pivot to go around the pocket. And at the top a marking to start sewing up to the top. I find it odd there is no markings.
At 9:30, they are called pinking shears. :)
Good job! Love watching your videos! What you would call the neck hole, I call the neck line...lol
Escape10mom 😂😂 and you would be correct!! I forget words all the time!!! 🤦🏻♀️😂
@@EllieandMacPatternsLLC, I forget words too. We all do 😜
Two questions
Do you have to do a lining?
And do you have to use a stretch material, could I use a woven cotton?
Am I going mad, or is this video the same one that was uploaded yesterday? I'm getting a feeling of Deja Vu! 😂😂😂 Love these 'sew along' videos though! TFS 👍❤
Hazel Kinvig-Paul you are right haha so I messed up when editing and totally left out a part of it 🙈 so I uploaded the correct version 😉
@@EllieandMacPatternsLLC Thanks 👍
Would love to win!
Went to Olga’s closet just now. First item was pride sign. Gross what I saw at capital and on the streets whipping someone’s backside while chained up.
Any other recommendations?
I wish you’d put your finished garment on a dress form at the end to show it 😞
Hi you mentioned that this pattern has been updated I bought my pattern a while ago go I do I know if mine is the old or the update x
The pattern was updated several years ago. To ensure you have the most up-to-date files, delete the current files from your device. Then, download the files again from your order. This will download the updated files.
Dumb question. What is the seam allowance. 5/8 3/8 1/4?
1/4” seam allowance for this pattern
Love this pattern! Do you have a video of you demonstrating on hemming on the sewing machine. Yesterday I was trying to hem the kimono pattern with my sewing machine on a double brushed poly and it kept slipping. I'm thinking of just leaving the raw hem, I'm giving it as a gift do you think that's okay?
juliet scheuer so knit hemming on sewing machine can be difficult. I’d make sure to hav a stretch needle, and many something to stabilized the fabric. I’d also give it a good half in hem and stay away from the edge as you foot can try to push the fabric down. Leaving a raw edge is fine with me when it comes to knits... I do it ALL the time! When I made my knit kimono I left it raw. As long as you make sure to tuck the tails in at the seams 😉
Me too
Ich bin so wütend denn das Schnittmuster lässt sich nicht vergrößern und nutzen
De ja vu lol xx
Love your tutorials.
Thank you!
Thank you. I always learn something from your videos.
