Looks like it has a remote sport passenger side mirror. Those can be hard to find. If it still works might be worthwhile to grab and save.

Whoa Nelley, 1977 and going to Heaven. These "A and G body" Colonnades really rusted out in certain climates and this one is no exception. This is technically a "G" body, but to keep things straight, either saying "A" or "G" body in these years is OK as it's complicated to some. The doors on these cars weighed a ton and eventually would droop when the hinges got wiped out.
We got the tag, we can brag: ST77 for 1977 model year, 2GK57 for Pontiac (2) Grand Prix LJ (GK) two door Colonnade (57) A for Atlanta, GA assembly, 71H for Firethorn Lombardy Cloth interior trim, A51 for bucket seats, 11L for Cameo White lower exterior paint, 03C for the third week of March 1977 production, 36T for Firethorn vinyl top, CB4 for padded rear vinyl top, Y83 for Grand Prix LJ option, the 71 at the bottom is possibly for a Red tape stripe, among other codes.
No VIN, can't win, but easy to figure out, no doubt: 2 for Pontiac, K for Grand Prix LJ, 57 for two door, Z for 400 CID V8 with four barrel, RPO code "L78", Pontiac produced, aka "King of the Chiefs for 1977", aka "Last of the Breed", aka "Tried and True", 7 for 1977 model year, A for Atlanta, GA assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Atlanta, GA plant that assembled this car was in Lakewood Heights and closed in 1990. The last car made, a gray square body Caprice sedan was given away to one of the workers on the last day of operation in August of 1990. This car would have the 180 HP version of the Pontiac 400 in 1977. There were two version of the 400 that year, this "L78" version rated at 180 HP and a high output W72 version used in the Trans Am which was 200 HP. You could also get the 180 HP version in the Trans Am as well. Both had a VIN code of "Z" in the VIN. The W72 would get 220 HP in 1978-1979.
Whoa Nelley, Colonnade about to go off into the shade. That's it, time to quit. "A/G" body looking very shoddy. In rust we do not trust. VIN code "K" soon to go away. Grand Prix and it's for me. ViN code "Z" and it's over for thee. L78 used to be great. Poncho needed a new honcho. Going to be flat and that's that. "Rag" top took a big flop. Vinyl top of Firethorn is looking very forlorn. Please don't get squished, because the GM faithful, many here, Benny perhaps and no doubt the Google Man are all going to be very, very, very, very, very pissed.

I had a friend who had a 76 Grand Prix, and I think it had a 350 Pontiac engine in it, but after 40 years l am not saying that it did.

I had a metallic blue base model, with no vinyl roof. One of my fave cars ever 🤯

My Dad's friend (in his 70s) has owned nothing but square bodies, box Chevy's and a few of these colonnade cars for as long as I can remember. Some were mint, others just beaters. He doesn't own a cell phone, which should explain why he drives them.
We chatted with him at a coffee shop recently, and he was telling us how he swapped a 700R4 on his own, which is impressive at that age, since my Dad's slowing down.

Sharp GP back in the day. Some good parts. Remember when they were all over the roads back then in 1977. Good old days Benny!

if close to home, would ve pulled the motor and the brackets and ac compressor, carb off this one, it would interchange with the firebirds of same era. even had wire wheels new, these noses are getting hard to find with good grilles and plastic headlight surround with good center pontiac turn signals. Shame this was nice car in it's day. Thanks for the video, a fav car for me too. the gauges even without a tach are hard to find, most had warning lights.

Interior crocodile alligator, but it's not a Chevrolet movie theater. Had a college friend who had one of these. Smacked a tree. It was totaled, but he drove it for a while. I sat in the passenger seat but couldn't see over the bent hood.
