    Just popped over from Rachael's Chanel, I sewed my first pair of the Dawn jeans earlier in the year but I will be following you on your journey, I also need to work on the fit so I'll be watching with interest, I agree with you with the polyester thing, xx

    I’m in! This will be my first time sewing “proper” jeans and my first time sewing with a Megan Neilson pattern. Does the PDF have layers for the different sizes? Inquiring minds need to know. 🤔 Thanks to both you and Rachael for taking on this challenge. 😘

    Many thanks to Rachael for adding the link to you. I have of course subscribed and liked. Brilliant collaboration and thank you for talking about the denim considerations, because I don't have a clue. I want indigo denim and 100% cotton, except for the elastane, so am keen to hear what you have to say, when you've purchased. Got a posh frock to finish and then I'll be unashamedly copying you.

      @@madebykarenmarie I'm making the Lois by Tessuti. I've lengthened the bodice a little and moved the bust dart down. I've also lengthened the skirt, because I'm tall. The fabric is a linen mix of creamy yellow flowers that I've had in my stash, and wasn't expensive. Discovered there is no need to put in a zip, unless I suppose one is super busty. Off to Glyndebourne to see a performance of Carmen and of course we'll be picnicking on the lawns and planning a very indulgent spread - the Lois is perfect for pigleting. You're quite right, I should have said which dress in the first place because I know I'd want to know x

    Oh this is perfect timing. I’ve been putting off making jeans/fitted trousers for so long but I really want to take the plunge and attempt a pair of The Modern Sewing Co Worker Trousers. If I can get the fit right I’d like to make these in Denim. My plan was to follow the Stitch Sisters class on fitting trousers to get my measurements correct and then try a toile. Thank you for the inspiration and all the additional jeans info. I’m definitely joining in.

    • @madebykarenmarie
      @madebykarenmarie  2 місяці тому

      @@aljgreen1 Hi! Sure, there are many ways to do it, and the patterns usually explain this bit in detail, as it is something a lot of people find somewhat intimidating :) On my first pairs of jeans, I used the instructions on the Ash, but lately I have used a different method that I learned via The Stitch sisters. I think that method covers the zip better and prevents the zip from peaking out. I’ll link it somewhere here :)
