  • Beth Turnbull Morrish, Potter and Teacher Extraordinaire of Turning Bull Pottery demonstrates how to reclaim clay by hand without a pugmill. This video is part two and begins with clay that has been dried to a soft consistency in a plaster sink. Beth shows slam wedging the clay to mix it to a homogenous consistency, remove air bubbles and impurities, then hand wedging the clay with spiral or ram's head wedging. Finally Beth shows how to merge the wedged clay into a big "pug", bag it and store it for future use. Turn your clay scraps into fresh, usable, FREE clay that is just as good as pugged or boxed clay.
