The following excerpt from the 1984 novel is possibly the most accurate description from a work of fiction that I've ever seen of the times we live in : “We are the dead. Our only true life is in the future. We shall take part in it as handfuls of dust and splinters of bone. But how far away that future may be, there is no knowing. It might be a thousand years. At present nothing is possible except to extend the area of sanity little by little. We cannot act collectively. We can only spread our knowledge outwards from individual to individual, generation after generation." And stemming from that excerpt, I have a few thoughts. First off, I personally want to extend my gratitude and support to both Morgoth and Endeavour for doing what they can in extending the area of sanity. Also my deep desire is that our true life in the future is not a thousand years away but within our lifetimes, after all history does move more quickly in our age. And lastly, the only solution is to act collectively.
“We cannot act collectively. We can only spread our knowledge outwards from individual to individual, generation after generation." Unfortunately the New Right are bad at understanding this. They are so infatuated with their ideologies and reactively against what they regard as “individualism” that they never grasp the way out of our malaise.
The northern town I live in, the centre now looks like a cross between Afghanistan and Soweto on a weekday. In university term time, looks more like China and India. They are pulling down historic buildings and rebuilding them to accommodate 'new arrivals'. Its happening at a rapid pace.

Whenever I hear the words diversity and multiculturalism and how it's a mantra for the desolate ones, it makes me think of 1984 and the psychological weaponization of language.
Diversity and the Multiculti, is our now and future dystopia. Nearly all past sci-fi is euro centric and of course, why wouldn't it be? Only the obscure French book, 'Camp of the Saints' predicted this misery correctly.
I have to disagree with Endeavour to a point as I think the manipulation of language is just as much a theme today as it was in the novel. One could argue in the the latter it borders on caricature, but nevertheless the deceptive use of it as a form of control is the same.
Yes. There was the terms 'antiwhite' and 'antiwhiteism' in a dictionary long ago that were removed so white people would have no words to describe the ideology victimizing helpless white children. The 'sytem' erases words and replaces them with nonsense terms like 'woke'
I just came into the comments section to post the same thing. Subversive slogans are used on us frequently. Often depicting the opposite of the real intent. Orwell drew a lot on real experiences and what was going on in the world at the time. 'Freedom is Slavery'- Mid century Germany used the propagandic slogan 'Work will set you free'. It was used above the entrances of several concentration camps. In modern times there have been several wars which have been morally justified by the claim that they're being fought in the name of peace. Perhaps Endeavour simply doesn't recognise these slogans when they're right up in his face? Even 'Affirmative Action' could be perceived to be one such slogan. There are many like it. It's not the case that people wouldn't believe this type of slogan, they would and they do. Politically motivated legislators draw up bills using these types of questionable euphemisms all the time. With the Orwell slogans you need to use your imagination to see how the slogan was arrived at and how a plausible double meaning could be extracted from them. In Animal Farm it's not as if people just instantly accepted these slogans on day one either, it's demonstrated that over time the meaning of words gradually changed or were replaced with similar words. This is something we see happening today in the real world, either as a gradual natural process or maybe even with subversive intent. If the criticism of Orwell is that he was too cartoonish, well he was a creative writer writing a fictional novel and he's going to use what he believes to be the most effective means of getting a message across. He's going to be writing differently to how he may write an academic text. But I have to say that right now in 2024 we have people believing in the most absurd reality-contradicting slogans which are printed on protest banners.
No regime was ever overthrown by too much oppression. However, many regimes were rendered incapable of defending themselves against other states due to too much oppression. For example Democratic Kampuchea and the Roman Empire. And many regimes backed away from oppression a bit to make themselves more capable of fighting foreign enemies. Such as Stalinist USSR. Some of these regimes actually went under when they loosened the grip to become better at defending themselves against foreign enemies, such as Gorbatjov USSR. Or the Ancien Regime in France, the whole point of calling the national assembly was to get participation to protect against British Empire. I think what was lacking from your discussion was an awareness that there actually is a cost to oppression. And that is less capacity to produce military violence.

Notice that theme?
Looks like I missed this during my own stream.
1:15:30 1984 is not based on USSR, it is based on British Empire.
Endeavour obviously lack real relationship with this book so it was an odd choice.
Do "The Night Of The Hunter."
Another nice happy movie 😂👍
Trump... ketchupGate!
I know there must be a cabalistic or numerologic meaning to 1984...

Language DOES matter. It is antiwhiteism, not anti-white-ness, woke, racist, etc.
Antiwhiteism os the ideology these managerialists insist upon.
It's called "Loxism".
@@Occident. No. If we want to end the dehumanization and demonization of innocent White people, we need to make clear what this hateful ideology is: ANTIWHITEISM.
@@goldenhoneybee8128 Spot on!
The normies and rebellion? Take a look around any western urban centre...think THAT can rebel?
1984 isn't a warning it's a threat 😅
Wambuh
I think "Brazil" is better
Shouldn't you call them Skiffs then, instead of small boats?
I always saw the anti sex league as an allegory for feminism. I haven’t finished the stream so I don’t know if you brought this up.
What do you think now?
Read 1984 in 1984. #TrueStory

i'm from america and i'm all for people coming in, but why do i all of a sudden need to speak spanish to have certain jobs and why am i constantly hearing spanish options for phone sht? if you're coming here you should have to learn english i shouldn't thave to learn your language, or is that wrong think
Why are you all for people coming in?
@@bigwinz if they are freedom minded and leave me the fk alone why would i care
Thats a 1980s argument, when was the last time you heard the word assimilation? The argument has now moved on to whether its acceptable to be opposed to your complete replacement. Your noticing spanish eeverywhere shows how successful the regime has been at even preventing this discussion of replacement. The language now is not assimilation, its how we are a melting pot and nation of immigrants. A hodge podge grab bag of nothing in particular. Which would have been a surprise to those british colonists building a first world nation out of nothing. And to the original immigration policy limiting to white of good moral character who would not impose a burden economically on the citizens.
Hate speech alert! 3 years hard labour in the reeducation camp for you pleb.
Because… -you shouldn’t be all for people coming in. You should also ONLY be for wasps holding positions of influence or authority.
