    Athan how can you talk about the Steelers' defense and don't mention TJ Watt?

      He goes without saying. If someone needs me to mention TJ Watt, this video probably isn't for them lol.
      I guess I should add that this is more highlighting the changes to the teams than the guys already there. That's all implied.

    Cleveland has the mystery card what will the offense be like

  • @jayshulan762
    @jayshulan762 3 місяці тому +2

    Cleveland will likely improve this coming season. Second year under Schwartz, so we should see some more variation and an improved red zone defense. I also think that defense got fatigued after not having an effective offense through the second half of the season. Given the losses on the front line, I would have put Ravens 3rd. Steelers 2nd, Browns 1st. That said, all are very good and it should be a fun season.

      As someone who enjoys great defense, I genuinely want to see Cleveland prove me wrong.
      It's certainly fair to say the D may have run out of gas by the end with the offense being so up and down.
      Looking forward to seeing how it plays out!

    I think my list is probably Ravens third, Steelers 2nd, Browns first. Ravens benefit from having a really talented offense, whereas the browns and Steelers managed to get where they did with just....not great offenses to say the least.

    • @AthanHristodulu
      @AthanHristodulu  3 місяці тому +1

      That's fair. I think the top 3 have strong cases to be made 1st. Hell, even Cincy could surprise having Burrow back and simply being motivated to go knowing they have a real shot. And I certainly respect what Cleveland & Pittsburgh managed to do last year with offenses that felt like they were playing for the other team at times. This is one of the divisions I'm looking forward to seeing play out the most.

    If you didn't watch the Browns you'd never know the poor situations that the Browns offense left the team in. In in Flacco's best days he still threw 2 pick sixes in the regular season and two more in the playoff loss. Add in the poor play of the PJ Walker and DTR and every one of these guys left the defense in a poor spot. Starting 5 different QB's, injuries to the OT's and key defensive players all season long effected the defenses proficiency. matter of fact, the Browns and Steelers both had such poor QB play most of the season and the stress this left on their defenses had a prolong effect on both defenses. Look at the QB play and then look at how each AFCN team's defense was affected by this. If you aren't a fan of any of these teams and just looking at the final scores, you'd have a poor perception of each team's defense.

      I'm well aware. I watch a LOT of football. More than most fans because I do this. I'm not reading box scores and calling it "research."
      I was ridiculed by the same Browns fans when I picked Houston to bounce them in the playoffs because of Joe Flacco and how his TDs were blinding people of how poorly he was playing at the same time. On top of the cracks that were showing in the defense in the back half of the season.
      You don't have to be a fan of a team to know what they were doing. There are people out there who love FOOTBALL, not just a team. I'd put myself in that category. I won't sit and act like I know everything. No one does. But I'm not going to have people who exclusively watch their favorite team tell me I don't know about them because the team isn't who I exclusively watch.
      I genuinely hope I'm wrong at this point because clearly some Cleveland fans are going to struggle with the reality that regression from last year's performance is more likely than matching or surpassing what was an unreal run the first half of the season or so

      @seansimmons6932 I'd make the same argument for Browns fans and their views of Baltimore and Pittsburgh. And vice versa for those fans and how they look at Cleveland.
      The difference is that I'm not a biased fan of any of the 3 teams. I'm just sharing what I saw and am expecting to see as someone from the outside

      I mean...did you watch the Steelers offense? Baltimore should be third but let's not act like the Browns had the worst offense in 2023, when the Steelers, Jets, and Patriots played .... whatever it was that was last year

  • @seansimmons6932
    @seansimmons6932 3 місяці тому

    That’s actually insane you put the Browns #3, nah the Browns have the best CBs, the best D-line, arguably the best safety duo in the AFC North as well and good LBs. Any person who knows anything on the AFC north roster puts Cleveland #1 in defense. Simply because of the number of elite players and depth in those positions as well. So goofy, Ravens and Steelers can fight for second place but it’s definitive the Browns have a better defense than the other 3.

      Cleveland was 3rd in PPG allowed in the division and had the league's worst Red Zone defense. This isn't Week 6 of last year.
      This told me nothing except bias fan takes.

      @@AthanHristodulu This told me everything I needed to know about how much you actually looked into what you're talking about. Like you say I said nothing except bias fan takes(Which is extremely hypocritical considering this entire video is you giving your opinion lmao) yet I said solid claims which you had nothing to say back with besides PPG. Dude the offense on the Browns gave up points half of the time last season, you'd know that if you were a browns fan. But like you said it's not week 6 of last season yet you base all your claims on last seasons stats, like our entire mini-camp training camp isn't surrounded in red zone defense drills. Cleveland's defense will be better than last year's peak, based on how the players will be more familiar with how Jim Schwartz runs his defense. That's not a bias fan take as much as your hater brain might want to think it is. Maybe actually do some research into what you're talking about then redo this video.

      @@AthanHristodulu no, you are uneducated in your response. The Browns lost to the Steelers by 5 points in game #2 on TWO offensive turnovers that were both returned for TD's. The Browns gave a TD to the Ravens on their first offensive play of the game and later on a muffed punt inside the twenty-yard line. You looked at the points allowed and assumed that was all on the Browns defense when if you looked game by game logs of each game, you'd understand what the poor play at QB did to the defense all year. Flacco, the QB savior still gave up 4 pick sixes, that will reflect on the points allowed. I'll flatly state that no offense in the NFL in 2023 left their defense in worst situations during the season. You can't start 5 different QB's and expect solid QB play. That this team won 11 games is a reflection of how good this defense really played.
