The number one part-time job for retirees is making UA-cam videos about retirement.
Hahahah! For us it’s a great part time job!
😅
Please keep working….I need your donation into Social Security….
lol
I started reselling vintage clothing, accessories and home decor online. Finding items to sell at estate sales, yard sales and thrift stores is like a treasure hunt and the extra income supplements my retirement funds. I set my own schedule and make my own decisions. I love learning about brands, fabrics, designers, etc...and sharing that knowledge with my customers. It's the perfect side gig for anyone who likes to shop and wants a flexible schedule.
Reselling sounds fun!
Finding items at flea markets and garage sales then reselling them
This is great !
Where online do you sell? I used to sell on ebay but would rather not ship items. Do you sell on Facebook marketplace?
This is such a great idea. Thank you for sharing it. Sounds like fun too!
@@ellenwoelfel5688 I'd love to know as well. I looked into selling on Amazon but there is a carrying cost until you make some sales and not sure it's for me.
Those are smart ideas 🤗
Love the fresh ideas and inspiration. Thanks for sharing!❤ - Lhiamel
You’re welcome 😊
I'm 60 not retired yet. Retiring age 67. Right now I'm just part-time as a caregiver. I also run a flea market booth over the weekend. I also know how to repair PC's and Laptops. I even know how to build websites. So love to hustle for a buck. Kinda retire right now, but I'll slow down even slower at the age 67. So relax more, but still hustle for sure.
Great story. Thank you
I am an insurance broker and I have talked to so many of my clients who have decided that going back to work in some capacity fulfills their need for money and meaning. I also have clients who are facing pressure from their employers to go ahead and retire even though they don't really want to. Corporate pressure on older workers creates a very toxic work environment and so they move toward retirement with a resolve to find something else to do as soon as possible. I think it's really sad, and so I am working to create a channel that helps people caught in those situations to move into a satisfying role of their own choosing. I like this channel!
That sounds great. What is the name lf your channel?
@@RetirementTransformed Well, when you ask a question like that, I can see I am just going to have to gird my loins and jump in the deep end! No name yet but there will be one in a few days. I will be back here to tell it too!
I agree and am one of those. However finding something new a different is what I'm doing. I don't need a new big career, just something to feel like I'm contributing and more time to relax. I'm not going just sit around . I watched my parents do that. It was scarey watching them decay before my eyes. Stay active - body soul and spirit.😊
Wow, fantastic timing. I am struggling with what to do and have been racking my brain and the internet on ideas. Love this channel!
Glad it was helpful!
Hola! I am from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 I retired 17 years ago and I help my daughter’s with my grandson. Know they are grown. This podcast

Your welcome
Great inspiration. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Stopped by, by accident, decided to subscribe to check out your next videos.
Thank you!
love your channel
Thank you!
Great information. I got my teaching licensure during Covid after 30 years in pharmaceutical sales. Although working more than I want right now the school year offers a lot of time off. I work for a teaching contract company, so it offers more flexibility than a full-time teaching assignment with a school district.
Awesome!
What do you teach?
How and what kind licensure in pharmaceutical?
Great ideas. A part time job provides money, entertainment, social life, purpose, brain exercise and so on. It's also important to keep a schedule, not to become too lazy or bored.
Thanks for the comment
So true 💯
Been retired for a little more than a year - 30+ years with a fortune 100 company in a director position - i'm "only" 57 seriously considering pursing my elementary teaching certification through an alternative certification path and teaching a few years.
I think that’s fantastic. Influencing this age group with your wisdom and experience can make a huge difference in their lives.
You forgot one pet sitting in dog walking is also fun because it's really good exercise can you get to be with a really good companion who appreciates your every moment❤
That’s so true. Thank you
Just found your channel. Nice work on this. Subscribed! My channel focuses on start up coaching for over 60s.
Welcome aboard! Checked out your channel, it looks great.
I like whisperers! I liked your video. Many great ideas. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Hello from Washington State. I am so glad I came across your video! Lots of helpful information.
I am 61 and working a very part time job while looking for one with more hours.
My dilemma is the response I get from every job I apply for is the same.."we are going with a different candidate" even when it's a position that I am currently doing. Very disheartening 😢
Yes it must be difficult to hear that. Hopefully something positive will happen soon. Don't give up!
Has to confirm with " Ticket To Work " program, and there is a " cap " on what you can make...I'm coming out of battling COVID 19/positive)2x, and injuries from a auto accident.. I'm on " pain injections ", meds, chiropractors, and physical therapists..Keeping the pain down is a " goal " in itself...
Sorry to hear about your ailments and pain. Im hoping for a speedy recovery.
#1 Mystic Seaport Village. #2 The person/occupation you were thinking of is a blacksmith (anvil/bellows).
Thanks!
I could not imagine spending my retirement slacking off for the rest of my life. Most of my career, I have loved the work I've done, but I've always known I would be doing something else -- something more meaningful -- if making money wasn't so important.
So now this is the time I finally get to pursue all the projects I've conjured up over the years that may solve a problem that a lot of people are trying to solve, help others pursue an art I am advanced in, help people enjoy life a little more, or just make their lives easier in some way. But I can pursue them without having to worry about whether they'll be "profitable" or not -- maybe they will, maybe they won't -- but I'm just having the time of my life now just getting to see how all my "little ideas" turn out.
This is great. Sounds like you have an active life planned out
Bed & Breakfast - wouldn’t do it nowadays… “Squatter Invasion”. Also, heard recently that crime cartels are staying in AirBnB’s while they run home burglaries then move on to the next area. Think carefully on this one.
I suppose there are risks inviting people into your home. But it may work for some people.
If you have your health which many don't once retired. So working part time isn't a possibility for many.
You may be right. But it depends on the health issue as well. There may be some stay at home jobs for those with computer skills for example. But having your healtth makes all the difference in the world.
Jodi said her dad worked in Harrisburg pa. I work for state government in Harrisburg Pa, too, just across the street from the Capitol where she said her dad worked. Small world.
Yes it is a small world. He was the Mace bearer at the capital for a number of years before retiring.
Lots of fab ideas. Another one is selling flowers! Oh my goodness, my friend is making a killing selling posies of flowers each day for $10 each. ( she actually works full time but makes up her posies before work)
Great idea!
Selling flowers? How? I mean there are florists or flowers are sold in my grocery store in my immediate area. Can you explain how you do this? I'm wild about flowers!!! Always wanted to own and operate my own flower shop in my youth.
I am 76 and I retired similar to the human being I was when younger. I taught English-Literature to Middle and High School students for 33 years. Upon retirement, I did what most who teach this subject really want to do - I have written novels and short stories. After my first years of retirement at this, so far, I have made about 20 dollars in sales. In the grand tradition of the eccentric writer, I remain the eccentric as I was in my youth. I remember reading someone famous who said what other profession is there that you spend gazillions of hours doing and in the end you don't know if you'll make any money.
That could be. I just published my first book and it took nearly two years to write. It’s quite a journey but I will do it again I am sure.
Congrats published writer! Well, you know how it is, I've got four on Amazon. Publishing not a problem Making money is. Any advice?
As a library assistant I must let you know that there is no whispering and no calm especially during the summer😂
Thank you. lol
yep!💯
Is there any updates on running online library.
I'm not sure what you mean. Did we mention that in the video?
When my Husband and I retire, we are going to relocate to Myrtle Beach so my husband can get a job at a golf course. I am considering either travel vlogging or I am going to look into how to become a narrator for audiobooks.
Sounds great! It’s so helpful to have a vision and a plan for this phase of life.
Teaching is one of the few jobs where there is almost no Ageism; and age=experience, is a plus.
Great outlook on teaching. Thank you
Becoming an author is a great option. I'll be publishing more soon 🤗💛📚
I just published my first book. Quite a process but worth it.
It's the Mystic Seaport Museum
Thank you.
I like to whisper. What a great idea! 😂
I missed the part about whispering, but happy it made you laugh.
I would like to find a part time job working 3 days a week and having 4 days off, are these jobs around? with my pension and Social Security I think this would work out fine for me. I would not have to dip into my investments until I would really need to.
I believe jobs like that exist. But you will have to search your local area. If you have special talents such as working with a computer you might find something that you could do from home.
How to and who to contact for bookkeeping services
I’m not sure I understand your question.
😂I cant do a blog. I wear pjs all day + showering only 1-2 week having chronic pain/chronic fatique syndrome/cancer ie can't look presentable.
You could blog! Just you and your laptop! Sorry to hear of your pain and fatigue. That’s hard. Will be thinking of you
blog not vlog, no appearance necessary
i followed the advice if you love your job you never work a day in your life, but what we do not hear you may have to work till you die, i have no retirement, yes my own fault, but just barely made enough money to live on much less save enough to retire on i am struggling to find something not just to augment my income but full income, now about physical fitness centers, i work out every day but the certification and licenses and bonding ... eats up any profit ...
I am sorry that you found yourself in this place financially. Hopefully you can find a source of work that aligns and supports your lifestyle.
Doctor, lawyer, teacher ? What if you were a porter, a cleaning lady, or a bike messenger?
I think the same would apply. The point of our video is to get us thinking about some level of part time work even through retirement or at least in the early phase. We have friends who are part time and even full time grandparents.
Do you know there are whole vlogs on cleaning. It's quite a cult thing you know, talking about how to clean and tidy like a professional.
Pet sitting … “I wouldn’t let her?” Glad that was corrected quickly.
Yes. That cannot of nowhere. lol
I AM A RETIRED PROJECT MANAGER FOR RESIDENTIAL HOMES IS THERE A DEMAND FOR THIS FOR PART TIME HELP IN NC ?
I would not know about specific opportunities in certain regions of the USA
There is some clutures that dont even have a word for retirement. I just plan to change my hours and type of work.
I think over time we will see the word retirement disappear. That is my vision anyway.
why not the pet walking, is he allergic or is it you could fall and get hurt? The beautiful lady seems to light up when you brought up the subject.
I love dogs. But I don’t want a house full. Jody on the other hand would probably be ok with that.
Open to interaction in noida city India specially
Ok. Not sure what you mean by this. But thank you for being here.
I'm 69 years old and collecting social security, my company (just me). I have heard that I can work as much as I want to and can make as much as I want. But do I still have to pay the IRS?
We do not give financial advice. I’m sure you can find a financial planner or your accountant to answer this
It depends on which state you are living in because there are some states don't do income taxes
I lived in california and this state if you are working at the end of the year we have to fill out income taxes
All about cats and dogs ,travel and food ! This is how they are lead by someone’s hack 😜Good remind though!got inspired!
Thank you
Believe it or not, doctors, recommend YMCA, courses and pool/hot tub..
Thats a good thing!!!
Yeah I know people who make money teaching piano.
That could be fun for sure
Why is insurance so expensive? Insurance companies are greedy b’s
Insurance costs are definitely an issue
I recommend delivering for DoorDash
Good idea. One of our children's friends does that and its pretty lucrative for them.
Do a UA-cam search for this topic and read the comments
@@jc4evur661 - great food gig to make some extra money!!! Is it gonna make you rich? No! But if you play it smart you can earn a few bucks and get your exercise. Perfect for Retirees!
Trucking companies are always looking for help.
Thatts a good idea
As drivers? or???
Blacksmith
Interesting idea. There are plenty of museums that you could do that. Mystic Seaport in CT is one that I know of.
BLAH BLAH BLAH
Sorry @hoza626. We do the best we can. Hopefully there are some videos that give you what you are looking for.
