I honestly wish to thing my biological father thinks about me when he’s in prison... after a two year sentence he had, I finally got to message him for the first time in my life. I even got to say happy birthday to him for the first time. I tell my mom just getting to message him once or twice was good enough, but... I want more. The “father” I grew up with was physically and mentally abusive to me and my whole family. My own bedroom isn’t even a safe place because of him... all I can imagine, is him walking into my room angry and drunk. He haunts me in my dreams, all the fat shaming, that time he nearly threw me down the stairs when I was ten. Because of that, and because my bio dad had it, making it more likely to get it. I have bipolar. But it hurts me so much that the only times my mom compares me to my bio dad, is when I’m mad and physically harming myself. She says I really remind her of him. And that’s why she can’t handle when I am angry. I hate that my childhood trauma makes up most of my personality today...
