- Thieves arrested after 2 hours of surveillance.
They use a garage remote to jam the signal from car remote.
The owner walks away thinking the car is locked. "Foreign" cars are targeted because they are more likely to have valuables in them. They are after laptops, cameras, iPad's of anything of value.
Being a pro theif is all about patience as the narrator said like a spider waiting for the insects to walk into it's web

Security and crime is a massive part of south Africa.
I at many times experienced this, where my vehicle didn't want to lock at certain shopping malls... I am no fan of locking the car with just the key, and also thought it was the batteries, but what didn't make sense was it works well in other areas... so i did the Following. Put the remote under the Arch of the front left wheel, or right. no way they can jam it then.
the signal should be strong enough in my opinion to make direct contact with the system. Works every-time for me.
Stay awake and take notice of people...when you think you didn't lock go Check!!!

Last week in Cape Town - Long St I think someone was jamming the signal from my remote. Fortunately I went back to the car to lock it manually. Oddly enough as soon as I locked manually the remote started working again. Watch out folks!

Good work, though sounded like a documentary. I understand you had securities on standby in your shop, but what would you have done if they managed to steal something from the car park (SAPS on standby)?
When "Buttons" was pressing the button next to the red car, was it meant to force unlock the red car or they were trying to block signals for the other cars not to be locked so they can go steal from them?

Since these scambags know they will not stay in jail and can just callously continue to this, next take their picture with a phone or camera (clear ones) and put them all over the net or Facebook where their families and community would see. Ruin their lives since the justice system will not hold them accountable for their crimes.

Beautiful surveillance work. I would hire you instantly to work for my company; government looks for lazy cheap scamp bags most of the time to run security in the country.
foreign cars being targeted is very true. we were in KZN over the new year, and being from Limpopo our number plate is L. Lots and lots of inquisitive eyes on our new Polo Hatch everytime we stopped at a place, especially suspicious "car guards" offering to watch it for us.
Do they target foreign cars because people from out of town don’t necessarily know where the crime hotspots are? I would think it would make them easier to spot if police chased them- it’s easier to blend in with an MP plate.

So obvious. I see these kind of crooks cruising around wal-mart all the time.
This very same car with the exact registration followed my family and I on the road from Breyten to Ermelo, Mpumalanga at speeds of over 220km/h after attempting to cut us off at a junction and utilising aggressive overtaking manoeuvres to slow us down. Once we reached the town of Ermelo we fortunately managed to avoid them.
All the damn patience and time it takes to steal they could just get a fucking job and make an honest living...
