Good morning I am doing my research in starting a nonprofit and would like to speak to you about this. It’s a huge vision. I’m sure you have heard this before but I am serious. This is huge.
Don't forget some of the AI resources out there. I'm not good at those yet but I have used some AI help to jump start some of the materials I need to work on. Again, there's a learning curve but is a resource we have to acknowledge. Thank you again, Amber! ❤
This is such a helpful video, thank you so much Amber! I watched your 2021 version as well and I noticed that this time you did not include any tools specifically for volunteers. I actually created a 100% free tool for local charities in my area (Hudson County, NJ, USA) and I would love to show it to you! Let me know if you're interested in taking a look :D
@@AmberMelanieSmith Absolutely! I'm expanding the app to the rest of the U.S. (sorry international folks) so if you'd like to see it, I can set up a demo for next week. It's called Charity Quest. I will certainly share your resources with the charities already in my network!
Hi Melanie, thanks for the update; would it be helpful to specify that these resources are not available in all geographies? My non-for-profit operates in Africa. So I gave a go at Benevolist but stumbled where they requested my 501(c) 3 code, which is specific to the US. I then turned to Rally up just to realise their drop list of locations is confined to America. Apparently these resources would mostly benefit American organisations.
Hey there, that's a good idea! Sometimes it can be hard to tell from the websites. This resource on the RallyUp page shares the countries they support (it's not just the USA) - rallyup.com/international-fundraising/
One thing you might try is starting a "friends of" non-profit in the US. (That's what we have and our US donations are really critical.) Of course you'll need a board and it's more work but may be well worth it.

YES! I'm actually going to be co-hosting a Q&A on that soon and will invite all our UA-cam changemaker fam!
I'd like to start a nonprofit, can you recommend some kind of consulting firm who can tell me if my idea is plausible given my specific parameters?
Canva is amazing and so easy to use. I love it. i would like to request that you make a video about paper work non profits need to be doing.
Thanks! For paperwork, you mean annual compliance stuff or something else?
Everything, like meeting minutes, if we are collaborating with someone whatever paperwork needs to be done for that if any etc.
Thank you for the content!
My pleasure!
I just got GiveButter and I’m trying it out for our annual breakfast and recurring giving. So far so good 🤞🏼 sounds similar to Rally Up
Thanks for reporting back! :)
Thank you for the information.
Hope it was helpful!
