This is amazing. I love it. I want it. But I BEG you, The Lord of the Rings: Blueprints is a book that needs to happen! Get those gorgeous drawings out into the wider world! Star Wars and Harry Potter did it!
We're thrilled you're as excited about Edoras as we are! And wow, what a fantastic idea-a blueprints book for The Lord of the Rings sounds like a dream come true for fans. We'll definitely pass that suggestion along to the team-it’s always great to hear what sparks inspiration in our community. Who knows what the future might hold? 😉
Could be an XXL Archives. Similar to what Taschen did with Star Wars. A 3kg extra large book filled with everything there is to know and to see about The Lord of the Rings . The Star Wars book is phenomenal and I’m dreaming about a Lord of the Rings one.
Edoras has such a powerful, authentic presence-it truly feels like it belongs to Middle-earth. We're so glad these collectibles capture that same sense of realism and beauty. ❤
I remember 3D modeling Edoras for one of my college projects. It was no easy task. All the insane little details that I picked up studying it. I appreciate the insane work that goes in to this. True art!
LOTR trilogy sets the benchmark for great film making, practical effects helped by CGI is the best a movie can be. Will we ever see a blockbuster with so many amazing practical effects ever again ?? I will throw my wallet at any movie studio who can make that happen.
One of the most beautiful and impressive sets built in the history of cinema. I mean, I know the hill is a protected natural area, but I wish New Zealand had kept the set there..
Absolutely, Edoras is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and breathtaking sets ever created! 🌄 The original set may no longer remain, but the spirit of Edoras lives on through the memories and the incredible work the team put into it. At least we can hold onto the magic through pieces like this collectible, which bring a little piece of Middle-earth to life. 😊
Beautiful piece ^^ have been this year to the Workshop and meeting a few of your talented people. Now happy having an incredible model of the Fellbeast with the Witchking on my desk and remembering the trip to NZ, incl Weta, Weta Auckland and Hobbiton. Your love of Lord of the Rings keeps shining through everything you guys make. I cannot praise you enough.
Thank you so much! The team poured their hearts into bringing Edoras to life, and they’ll be thrilled to hear your kind words. We’ll be sure to pass it along-your support means the world to us.
Thank you, we're so glad you think so. Helm's Deep and Edoras together? Now that's a collection worthy of the Riddermark. Can't wait to see them side by side on your shelf! 🙌
Looks like a winner to me :) God you guys are good at your jobs, I wish I had even 10% of your skills to be able to create like you guys can. I will be getting this for certain. I already have multiple environments gracing my fair sized collection now and love them all. The beautiful Helms Deep my personal favorite (so far)! Side note / request... Have you guys ever considered making a Radagasts house environment with a spider on the roof?.
“What is the house of Eorl but a thatched barn where brigands drink in the reek, and their brats roll on the floor among the dogs?” Just a joke! Don't hate! Seriously, I'd love to have either of these!
This is Amazing! I'd Love to Review it on my Lord of the Rings UA-cam channel! Keep up the Amazing Work, Weta! As a Tolkien UA-camr, I love the work you do!
like the dimensions - a bit easier for me to find room for than my Helm's Deep. Dimensions: 12.2" x 6.18" x 19.1" (W x H x D) 31cm x 15.7cm x 48.4cm Weight:7.76 lbs (3.52 kg) Helms Deep: Dimensions: 21.65" x 10.62" x 15.74" (W x H x D) 55 cm x 27 cm x 40 cm Weight:23.149 lbs (10.5 kg)?
Agree. Sometimes humans CAN improve upon the natural world and there were so any reasons to leave some of the film sets in place. New Zealand is middle earth for so many people and a real shame tue authorities didn’t have the foresight to see what a legacy they could’ve created
@@davidro77 I'm sure it was strict environmentalists who forced common sense and reason into the basement, then locked the door. I would love / paid to dress up as horse underling and live in a 3 X 3 foot hovel for a week. " .. I've seen more cheer in graveyard .. " m
We hear you-display space is always the ultimate challenge for any collector. Maybe Edoras could take pride of place as a centrepiece-it is the Golden Hall, after all! If not, perhaps a reshuffle or a little annexation of extra shelf space could be in order? 😉
Weta really should sell the STL files for their Environment sets after their limited physical runs. What's the point of locking away something cool like Helm's Deep if it's not being actively sold anymore, you know?

As a collector and LOTR fan from Germany and I think I speak for all of us, please dont you dare to stop making them 😂
@@wetaworkshopnz I'm a hobbyist woodworker and would love to use blueprints like that as inspiration for a project!
@@wetaworkshopnzI’d 100% buy that book 😍😍
This looks like another incredible release. As someone who missed the boat for the Helm’s Deep environment, I shall not let this one pass!
Edoras was just so undeniably REAL. Absolutely beautiful.

Off to revisit this beauty on the big screen in 36 hours. Very excited!
Purchased mine yesterday! So excited. This is my 2nd collectible after acquiring the white tree of Gondor.

Beautiful. If only I could afford some of these incredible environment pieces. Will have to continue to settle for my Hobbit Holes no doubt.
We’re glad you love our Hobbit Holes too! 😊
RIP Bernard Hill ❤️❤️
Gorgeous. I visited the Edoras location at Mt. Sunday from the UK earlier this year. It was a dream to stand where it was built. Also very windy 😂
Can't wait to pre-order. Beautiful
We're counting down the hours with you-just 24 to go! We can’t wait for Edoras to find its way to its new home.

Great job Weta, can’t wait to get this one
Was hoping for more of, if not the whole city. But to get a nice level of detail this is still awesome, and I will definitely be ordering one
Very Beautiful hope to be able to snag a preorder
A true work of art. Very well done to your whole team! :)

Another one I cannot afford.

Imagine the $$$$$$$ they could have made if they left Edoras for tourists to visit.

City? It's barely big enough to be a small town...
Yet another environment without lighting, easy pass. Stop being lazy.
Huh? How often do we see Edoras at night in either film? And when we do see it at night, are there notable lights?
