Great video. As a die-hard Strat fan, I appreciate content like this . The Micro-Tilt adjuster was carried over from the 70's. However unlike 70's era Strats, the American Standard and its descendants stick with the traditional 4-bolt (vs. 3) neck attachment. The Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Plus is (or at least was) exclusively made for Fender.
Super legit. I have a 97 that is actually an Elite or Deluxe: Fender lace single coils and the roller bridge with the stacked tone pot that kind of did the Clapton strat thing, but w/o the preamp, it was cool, but not that cool. I put classic 54's in the middle & neck. The bridge PU was made by Sonny at Sonny's Custom Shop in Plano, TX. It is quite similar to the Seymour Duncan SSL-5 but not quite that hot. Kind of has an almost P90 thing with gain, but generally a more subtle top end (not spikey). It still plays well with the middle. I also have the bridge you have in this vid. It is the best thing I have done to the 97. Can't say enough. I do also have an 83 STRAT with the X-1 (quite hot) PU in the bridge - and whatever Dan Smith and Co were doing back then. It's heavy and has gold plate brass all over the place. It had a 2 way switch disguised as tone knob. It gave every combo you could imagine in conjunction with where you are on the blade selector. The coolest: all 3 in series. It failed, but I found an answer years ago. It's not quite as easy as the Tone Shaper approach. I am totally getting their SSS Blender. Thanks for sharing!
That locking Gotoh is a decent bridge for sure but still lacks the gentle finesse and range needed for a vibrato. The Vegatrem offers tuning stability, transparent tonal character and vibrato range that equals the FR. It was a plug and play install on my 2012 American Dlx hss. My strat never sounded so sweet. It’s worth a try! You can always return your strat to stock if it doesn’t meet your preferences. 🙏🔑✌️🇮🇱
I have a 1996 Big Apple Strat like yours it has a Pearly Gate in the bridge and a 59 in the neck. I have lowered the bridge pickup all the way down that cured the over output of that pick up I also have a trebel bleed which I think is really important. I use a Schaller Sure Claw in my spring cavity, and installed the LSR roller nut. I'm able to keep my trem floating and have no issues however I am looking for a locking tuners and I'm going to take your recommendations thank you for your help my other Strat has three single coil pickups that's my next project for upgrades
Vega trem stays in tune just perfect as well.
Great video for those looking to improve their strat, highly recommended!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making this one!

Not subjective. Five way Strat selector switch is bridge position 1 through neck position 5. Appreciate your upgrades and playing!

My first guitar is an 🇺🇸 strat ( still got it) . I just got a 2018 butterscotch Fender player telecaster and it's awesome guitar ‼️
Well Jeff Beck and the strat is like peanut butter and jelly ‼️ I don't think anyone else can make a strat sing like Jeff Beck 🎸🎵🎶
You should check out Vola OZ RV TNC guitar . A strat on steroids ‼️

Good tips, and I love your Les Paul too! I have one just like it - is yours labelled as a "Special?"
Micro tilt should be on all guitars made.
Gibson and other set neck/ neck through guitars. How would that work?
@@BryanClark-gk6ie it would only work on bolt ons.
