    I purchased the base MBP M2 Max with 1TB and 32GB Ram. I do photo editing and LOVE it. With how snappy it is, it can't be beat. Coming from the 2019 i9 version, its like a dream. It's made me fall in love with editing again. It felt like a chore on the i9 Mac, now I'm excited to get more project cause its just so smooth and the battery is INSANE!

    Great video fams. What a beastly laptop. $10,000 is a lot. That's a lot of dollar slaps on the pokies tho. Keep up that awesome work

    As a current windows user it’s nice to see Apple doing well in this regard. Competition is always healthy for the industry. The energy efficiency of these M1/M2 chips is really attractive, and even when used as a desktop replacement you basically get a built in battery UPS.

    I upgraded to m1 MacBook pro for app development. Its been close to a year since I've heard the fan kicking on... With intel based i7 macs they were full on 9-5. Absolute no brainer for a professional workload and I wish you talked bit more about the power usage (instead of mentioning it's delivering this performance on battery). My whole setup with dell 27" monitor and macbook pro consumes 35-50W which blows my mind every time I see it.

    Spot On Assessment!!!! I've been on Apple's site to configure different Macs and the prices are ridiculous. I agree that $6800 US / $10000 AUD is way too much for ONE laptop. I just bought two laptops just recently, ASUS ROG Strix 18" and the ASUS ROG Strix 15" for about $5300 US / $7800 AUD for both. The 18" version only cost me about $200 US more and has an RTX 4080 while the 15" has an RTX 4070. I originally only wanted the 18" ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18", but I wasn't willing to pay about $4000 (+) for it.

      It totally depends on what you do with your device.

    I've been in the market for a laptop for the random times I travel for work and stuff and apple stuff is just a sleek and with the new soc its become even more competitive but for that price it makes it hard to justify given the MS options. Also love the content.

      The air m1 is still at an incredible value. Mac laptops at the high end are super niche but if you fit that niche it’s the perfect laptop

      @@sentryion3106 thanks, I really didn't realize how much cheaper the m1 has gotten. Lol sometimes I get to obsessed with the latest and greatest for get past gen. Just locally found a m1 pro laptop for 800$ and about to hop on it

    Cost-wise what is the cheapest spec of that same machine that you think you could use? For example, it would be interesting to know how much of the 96GB you were using (you can save $1000 AUD if 64 GB is enough). “Settling” for 2TB SSD will save you a further $2700 AUD.

    Again, with Apple, price will be the barrier for my entry. I did by an iMac once, like an early Intel Core version, actually lasted quite a while, used by someone other than me. I think it was an i900 something, replaced it with a 12400 last year.

    I was thinking about buying a Mac (never owned or used one before), but can't think of a legitimate reason to spend even 2 grand for the base m2 14" model. I know I can look for a used M1 macbook pro but even those are a bit much for my channel. I don't post a lot of videos but when I do edit I use my 11 inch ipad pro with the M2 in it. My windows laptop is WAYYYYY to slow for video editing.

    It's only $6,799 for the same top of the range spec MacBook Pro but with a good 1tb of storage. 8tb is a massive amount of space and you yourself couldn't even utilise it all for your editing trip. Most people won't need to go 8tb at $10,099.

    The loaner MacBook pro is way over spec for what its being used for here.Dropping the storage and RAM down would significantly reduce the price, while making zero difference to its performance or to this workflow and I think that should have been taken into consideration when summating the value equation on these laptops.

    Not sure why would you want so much storage. Just change only one option - instead of 8 get 2TB (still plenty of storage for footage) and you instantly have A$7.4k laptop instead of A$10.1 with the same power and capabilites.

    You would be better off with Mac Studio with the M2 Ultra. M2 studio with the ultra is equal to the M2 Mac Pro. The Mac Pro cant add GPU’s i think

    As long as im paid 10k per week or per contract for work, i would pay that for this dragon gadget but if not, i will keep that money for when the tax man wants it from me becsuse they want my money instead of corrupt corporations. Big think. 😅

    Yup. Laptops only Apple. Mainly for resale value.

    • @nsuinteger-au
      @nsuinteger-au Рік тому +1

      you need to get out of that mindset of buying mainly for resale value. If you don't you're doing it wrong. For instance, I wouldnt buy a pixel device not because the resale value sucks, but because it becomes a dog $hit of a product after few months into using and you will be looking for upgrading before you actually need one.

      when the tech get outdated too fast, then the resale value will bite itself back

    • @ghost-user559
      @ghost-user559 Рік тому

      @@baoquoc3710 No. Resale value holds very well for Apple. And at the 5-10 year mark collectors can even pay you more than you paid for some things. People all over the world want this stuff and collectors are out there looking for something basically all the time.
