After a career spanning 52 years in international organisations, this is the most informative presentation I have seen for a decade. I am intrigued to see how many organisations, and management teams have the intellectual capacity and vision to " let go" of traditional management methods, concepts and cultures.

Bill - Thank you for doing this! It's a huge step towards at least clarifying the d.school's position and perspective on what Design Thinking is and how it does and doesn't work.

+Stanfordonline = Thanks a lot for sharing this knowledge. Now I understood why my efforts in India failed since FY 2011 while preaching some of the Indian business organizations to go for Design Thinking approach.
Watching this video was like learn, unlearn and relearn again and become unbiased about Design Thinking.
    I am resharing it again.
    Best regards,

I have the following opinion: Unless we run design thinking activity, we might run out of ideas because new ideas eventually translate to new products and services. The products and services can be handled by the middle management. So indirectly, design thinking team is the core team that is feeding into the hierarchy. If there is no design thinking team there will not be new innovations and if there is no innovation in an organization, the organization will not be able to grow and might run out of projects which will eventually cause the hierarchy to run out of work and lose their jobs.

a very insightful sharing and we have to take the time to sit and listen so if people and students are interested in Design Thinking they just need to take time to listen to this video and take one hour to feel and rethink, no need to short the video this information is very important to be clear and have this clearity about how, what why and when>>

The design loop that is missing is: Define---Ideate---Critically examine---check the customer, the system, the context of operations---refine definiition---ideate---critically examine.

Excellent. Then it is reasonable to attract independent partners from outside. I have a project with a guarantee of success, how can I propose it correctly? The project is for a large company and scales quickly.

This video isn't captioned. A video about inclusivity in design has excluded d/Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners (and other learners who require subtitles) for two years.

I find these issues to be true with most methods. I used to be an Agile Coach helping marketing and IT organizations learn how to do agile product development and experienced all of these challenges.

Lots of focus has been given to hierarchy/ authority & influence in the video, where it would be interesting to get some practical insights on design thinking. Title and content of the video have a huge disparity.
