- I will be honest, this was a really tough day! We got some pretty devastating news for our son Landon. As many of you know he has cerebral palsy and the doctors have been watching his bone growth but specifically in hips. Sadly his hip is 40% out of socket and will need a very major surgery. He was devastated, I have never seen him cry like he did (which we did not record for privacy reasons). He is one tough kids but today he was justified in being down. True Landon style though he was all smiles by the end of the day!

It's so heartbreaking to see our kids upset no matter their age. He's a tough kid. He's been through so much. I think mom and dad just allowing him to chill out and just be a kid was the best idea for him. Great parenting.

Lando you are stronger then even most adults I know! I broke my foot a year ago and had to depend on others to shovel snow, drive me places, etc and it was the most helpless feeling ever, but everything happens for a reason so it must have been meant to be. I will say Lando that your balance and strength will be much improved after you get this surgery done 🥰🙏🏼
As a mom, it broke my heart for him to be scared & sad. You are so strong Landon, but even Superheroes need to cry & let those emotions out! 💙

Sorry to hear about the surgery, it sounds like a real trial. Of course you will make it through, but the comfort of hope does not fully smooth the way... Just remember that even during the hardest points people care and will be there to support you in all ways.

I had the same thing done 4 years ago on my left side of my hip and then 2 years ago I had my right side done.

My heart is with you all and with Landon especially! I’m currently recovering from my 35th surgery which I just had on Wednesday. A special message to Landon that I’ve learned over the years as an advocate in the rare disease community. It’s not easy what we go through on a constant basis with medical issues, though our journeys are different. You face them one at a time, and you face them with a positive attitude as I’ve seen you constantly do from time to time! You certainly are a very brave kid! Whatever has to happen in your future, make sure you stay positive along the way and face it with a smile! its good that he let his emotions out he proberbly has been holding in being tough but its a lot to take in the good thing when you cry your releases endorphins also happy tears are thicker than sad tears

As a 38 year old with spina Bifida and hydrocephalus, I've had 12 surgeries. They are hard to process, hard to push through, but he is one strong young man with such a supportive family. You got this!

Both mom and older sister had to have both hips replaced at a very young age. Not the same condition as Landon of course, but both had hips that wore away, something congenital with people of Swedish decent. Both recovered fully and never had hip problems again. Was a long recovery (prob. much shorter now, this was years ago when sister was in her 20's) but now have more range of motion and can run and exercise. Mom in particular was in pain most of her adult life till she had hip replacement. I feel so bad for little Lando, but you will be better for it Lando. This time will pass and you will be better after it for sure. You are a trooper and nothing can get you down! Kudos to Justin for the day out,. Lando was blessed with a wonderful support system family. God bless you all.

Long distance Hugs Lando my Warrior Pal of mine I know how you feel bud I had to go through similar things with my mom having to undergo both hips having surgery. They had to do what's called " resurfacing " not replacing but she knows how you feel about pain bud. Keep your head up and know I'm Always in your corner fighting with you

Landon you dont know what an inspiration you are to so many people. The fact that you went to therapy yesterday and worked your hardest when u were having one of your worst days was so admirable!
My heart just feels for you Landon. Oh how I know how you must be feeling. I’ve been in those kind of doctors appointments talking about major, major surgeries that I was going to need. I still remember being 4-10 years old and terrified of every single one of them. I know it’s hard and scary now but it will pass. I remember that it always sounded much scarier than it actually was. Doctors and nurses are always so kind afterwards and they are really good at making you feel as comfortable as possible. How I would love to just give you a big hug. While I don’t have CP, I do have another rare syndrome and neurological issues that come with it, and I have a little understanding about how scary this is for you.🙏🏼❤️
