I used to have nightmares about those little goblin things and all their sounds they make. Nightmares where they'd drag me into those holes and eat my organs.
Even though the games aren't canon, they really helped foster my love for the series; it made Hogwarts seem so much bigger, magical, mysterious, with so many new mysteries to solve. All those puzzles that could kill you on the game reminded me about the dangers of magic and such. Really fun exploring. Like, when you feel in one of those "bottomless pits", where did you go? Why did Dumbledor not fix that? stuff like that haha
According to one of the developers, this level was planned to be part of the actual game, but they never got round to implementing/finishing it off. Nice that it was left in instead of being removed completely however
I think it was scrapped after the map was completed as it has all parts working correctly, but the map has secrets located next to secrets, which are too close and in one place rather than scattered around and the music is wierd choice. But, its undertandable if it was like after-credits bonus challenge map, because the map is called chapter 7 Gryffindor in level selection, which is after bonus wizard card map (gold cards), that map is chapter 6 in level selection
Hey you cheated on the rafters!! If you cast alohamora on the blank wall where the beans were you can go upstairs without cheating and get the star. In the same way, the star with the 2 ropes and barrier gate has 2 secret areas if you also cast alohamora on the walls near the chest.
I'm trying to get the debug/ghost mode working, but it doesn't. I don't see any green lines on the screen, nor can I enter the secret room in the gryffindor dorm. What am I doing wrong?
now i find out you can do this cool stuff after i got rid of the game and went to battlefield...... WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!! my sister and i thought we knew all the secrets... aparently now
Is this place real?? Because I have played this game for years and I checked the gryffindor common room many time, but I never found it. How can I enter this room?
It's actually unused in the final game, you need to activate debug mode to enter it. I actually found it out myself and was really surprised, I too owned this game for years.

By the look of map design in gryffindor common room, the door itself from outside looks fine, but behind the door with teleport scrpt to this map (shown on video) has design on door and around it poorly, which indicates that it was scraped in "last minutes" (or in other words, during development).
You have to turn debug mode on to access this level, you can't play it by progressing through the story normally, which sucks. Would've been a good reward for completing the game 100%.

Why did you go ghost to grab the beans from the ceiling. The secret area to getting there is on the bare wall. 4:04

How can I even go there with the debug menu, if it won't allow me to save the change in the .txt file, when I set the debug menu on?
Go to properties and find a panel where there is ADMINSTRATOR,user and group, then edit user and enable full access

Or you can use the teleportation cheat to go through the door of the dormitory. That is the actual entrance.

@@sportakus3 Yeah I replayed the game recently and turns out I was confusing it with another secret in the common room
