RIP another sad loss. Beautiful speakers, they look really good. I've heard he is good but I don't have any of his. Excellent Finds my friend. Glad you and Larry had a good day❤
Thanks Robert…It is always a great day when I get to hang out with Larry..Next time we are going I will message you to see if you are free to join us..
Good remembering Phil ! Such an underrated bassist in my opinion! He didn’t play the instrument the way most bassists do and Garcia once said a lot of times he will listen to Phil’s bass and fashion his solos on what Phil’s doing So sad we’re losing all those great artists from the sixties
Very nice tribute to Phil Lesh. Enjoy your new speakers!! 🙂 Yes, Marcus King is pretty talented, I liked his voice especially, but I'd rather listen to Sparks and The Beach Boys, the 2 best American bands! 😁
Nice speakers Glen. Glad you found something in the disaster known as Brian’s. Went there for the second time this summer, thinking I’d give him another shot. Couldn’t do it, too chaotic. 😂😂. Cheers.
Yeah, I saw the sad news about Phil yesterday. Amazing player. RIP. I'm with you on Marcus King. I have three or four of his cds but they just sit there. I recognize his talent and his intent but something's not registering with me. Can't wait to hear which WSP album you picked up, lol. You need something live pre 2002. That's the jam. Oh yeah. And the speakers look awesome.
Marcus King is a monster player, not a bad album, really dig his stuff. But it's sometimes a bit more on the soul side, so he does the softer tracks, but can also gets pretty heavy. Took me a few listens to really appreciate it. And his voice is probably not everybody's cup of coffee. A WSP album I listened to recently and that I definitely want to get is called Wood. (We don't have any used record stores where I can just find that stuff here.) Also listened to Hard Working Americans lately, they have Dave Schools and Duane Trucks of WSP, also good stuff, not that much though. And congrats on the new speakers🎉
@GlenKellawayfromthebasement maybe you should check out the stuff he released as The Marcus King Band (their selftitled has Warren and Derek on it, can't be bad by definition), that stuff was a bit rougher.
I have the Marcus king cd. The 2nd song is the one i bought it for " the well " he has around 9 or more albums. First saw him on cbs satuday performance. He played Claptons crossroads concert Which i want as well but its 5 cds this year and $89 U.S.. ill pass .have the others on cd and dvd ..mext couple moves youll be living in a shed lol..if its heated and electricity got tunes. ..

The secret to Brian’s is to go with a list and ask him where it is..you will strike gold..
El Dorado is awesome, that's the first time I'd listened to him. Great player, works a lot with Billy Strings. Phil was a big loss.
