I usually have good command, and when I'm off,(aside from aiming - or rather attacking - the middle and hoping my misses are strikes) is recalling one of two mechanical cues. Either I'm rushing and opening up, so I just tell myself to slow my delivery down, or I tell myself to stare at my lead elbow during the delivery. If I'm looking over my shoulder it means my front shoulder is closed longer. So learn your own mechanics over time, AND share your top 1 or 2 fix-it cues with your catcher and your coach, so in-game they can remind you too. Too often I'll go a batter or two before catching myself and with help I might catch it in 2 to 4 pitches rather than 2 to 4 batters

Excellent video as always. My sons pitching coach repeatedly tells his clients the same thing you’ve just stated regarding playing catch.

thats just a thing people say. why would aiming for a big part of the zone mean you miss big?

Yeah but the best in the world - college and pro - overwhelmingly do not.
