Wow... interesting. I like the color palette of the VIZ release enough because I do like that it actually HAS vibrant color, unlike most other versions, where the colors seem really muted to my untrained eye. The color is delightful too, I actually still need to pick up R part 2 and S part 1 myself. And now that I have a PS4 that can play Blu-Rays, I can actually play the Blu-Rays AND be able to appreciate VIZ's amazing menu work! And no, I'm not a paid shill for Viz, I just happen to really like their work on both Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2, the only releases I've gotten from them thus far, even if they claim to have gotten awful masters for SM season 1, which I actually can believe, because TOEI and, unfortunately, Ms. Naoko Takeuchi herself probably still remember how the North Americans kinda screwed with the property the first time around.

Sailor Aije Tortilla to date there's only the part one of Mexican S boxset (Talk Box Venus), the second one is waiting approval from Toei Animation since late 2014, I'm kinda disappointing because Viz's S second part was released first than the Mexican one
When it comes to quality comparison it really confuses me. The VIZ one looks nice to me. Box set does look clean...a little too clean lol. What one are we supposed to get in the US then when it comes to quality...? It seems like when it comes to getting masters from Japan to the US it's hard. Even with DBZ also. The new 30th anniversary for it doesn't have good japanese audio or something. Box wise the talkbox one looks pretty. And now I understand why it's called talkbox lol. You kind of sold me on the French one lol.
Watching these kind of comparisons gives me life lmao Yeah, well, I'm mexican so i own all the talk box they were released back then. I've been working these past 5 years like "re-remastering" the mexican dub cos as many of us know, the talk box sets had a very bad quality spanish audio. But then Azteca 7 aired the whole show again in 2017 and it seems the audio had a remaster which is good!!! So i'm now tv ripping all those audios, and well... i'm working in a AI remaster using the Ita Dynit DVD's and they are coming out pretty damn good. It's currently a private project, but if you want to know more about this lil project, pls contact me :3 i already used some of the AI remaster in some of my vids.
I realize I'm 6 years late coming in and watching this video, but I'm actually very fascinated by the differences in the various releases of Sailor Moon. Honestly, the ADV version has a lot of nostalgia for me, because it was my first experience watching Sailor Moon since seeing the DiC dub on TV as a kid in the 90s. The dark blue box with the gold inlayed moon and stars with the silver silhouette of Sailor Moon is still so iconic to me. As washed out as the ADV version's video quality is, it's still better to me than the VIZ release, because it's like VIZ took what Toei gave them and decided to brighten, re-colour and almost oversaturate the video. It's really quite disturbing to me how weird the VIZ version looks in comparison. The German dub version is highly reminiscent to me of the DiC dub edit that I saw as a kid. So much happening there with the colours and also with the loss of detail. The French and Mexican releases are the most pretty, and I don't think VIZ is telling the whole truth when they say that they got "bad masters" from Japan. Especially given that everyone seems to have gotten the same masters and they all look beautiful, except for the ones VIZ got. It just seems sus to me, even all this time later. I feel like VIZ, for whatever reason, didn't like how it looked and decided to do their own in-house remaster just because they could, and then used an excuse. I honestly also feel like VIZ didn't really try all that hard when putting together the Blu-Ray + DVD sets for Sailor Moon. Flat ping background, maybe a little design on the edges, and then a flat, rather boring pose for Sailor Moon, as you pointed out in the video, Sailor Tortilla. All in all, I think after 6 years, this video still stands up and is very detailed in the comparisons of each of these versions. It's so well done. I also have to say that even though I have the VIZ release of season 1, I definitely still want the ADV version, simply because it's still epically glorious and iconic looking as a box set, and I think I'd prefer Sailor Moon to look washed out than what VIZ did.
@@SailorTortilla You're welcome! I enjoy your videos, and yes, they totally resonate years later. And honestly, the ADV box set is still gorgeous. They put so much thought into it.
I've read on Sailor Moon news that the show can't be fully remastered in HD because Toei did not save the original film. Do you know if that is true? I find it crazy because by the 90's with home video well established most companies knew better than to discard their master sources. But more than that, people knew HD would be a thing, especially in Japan. Because it already was. MUSE Hi-Vision was the first home video HD format, released on laserdisc and only in Japan. Given that Sailor Moon was released on regular laserdisc and there were HD movies on a premium version of the same format, Toei had to know there would be a future potential for the show in HD, didn't they?
I also heard the same thing about the film reel being tossed. Toei must've retained them for the movies though, which look incredible. The best master you'll find is the Japanese Bluray release, which came out after I made this video. The Australian Blurays also use this master.
I guess my best bet is to buy the official French Version even without the English Subtitles or is a really nice version can you explain the difference between. 2913 collector Version antd new update French Release you told me about? Thanks! Neil Barron ⭐
I can't believe you have trolls already that must mean you're doing something right! I'm with you though VIC lied to their consumers I don't appreciate that because I followed S from the viz the most and that's my favorite season I just don't understand why they charge people $60 for low-quality Blu-rays and if they're so great about North America distribution why don't they just borrow the masters of the other countries are getting
Fun fact: Kazé Germany and Kazé France are independent labels that just share the name. Their parent company on the other hand is "Viz Media Europe", a sister company of "Viz Media". In other words: Kazé = Viz
I'm happy to hear that Viz Media released some of my childhood anime onto complete DVD like Pokemon, Beyblade, yugioh series, and Sailor Moon, still I would like to see more anime that didn't have a chance to released into complete DVD yet like Spider Riders, Ultimate muscle and Yo Kai Watch in the future maybe in 2020?
🌟 Hi, Sailor Tortilla; I was wondering What is your opinion of the French Dub in general for The Kaze DVD Set discussed in this video? , and especially What is your opinion of the French voice actress that played Usagi for The Kaze DVD Collector’s Set shown in this viiseo? Thanks, Have a great day!….. Namaste!….. Your Friend!….. Neil 🕊️😊 🌙
Timing is off due to regional playback standards. Europe uses PAL at 25 frames per second, and North American releases are 23.976 frames per second. And yes, that does mean if you live outside the original region of release for a piece of media, the version you watch is usually going to be very slightly faster or slower than it's really supposed to be.
hey we've talked before about buying the old version from D.I.C English dubbed. are ADV DVDs still good to buy that had the D.I.C entertainment voices and music or is that the new Viz media crap they selling in Walmart?????
I can confirm it is a large improvement! I've now found myself in a unique situation where I DON'T own a disk drive in any of my computers so I'm kinda SOL on getting the footage off the disks XD
It's good that Viz Media made a lot of Sailor Moon and Pokemon series in complete DVD collections over the years but I still wished they have done something interesting for a changed like released some anime series which were seen in the past shown in UK/USA/ Australia like: Cardcaptors, Spider Riders, Yo Kai Watch and Ultimate Muscles. I know a few of them were released inti DVD in the past but none of them were in complete DVD collections like Sailor Moon and Pokemon. I think it's about time that Viz Media should think of making them into DVD because that could make them successful. But maybe not on Blu-Ray as some of us like myself don't have a Blu- Ray DVD Player.
Call me crazy, but I actually prefer the Viz cover to all the others. The ADV looks dated, Mexican talk box is way too busy with random stuff all over it, German has the atrocious big ass age rating (Not sure if that is actually on the box or just the plastic?) and random logos on the corners, French has random crap all over it too. Is it so hard for them to just release something as clean as the VIZ release, but with a different more exciting pose? The pink makes it seem kind of young, but I think all the other releases (minus ADV) look childish as hell due to how much is going on. I like sleek and simple designs. You'll never see a say sex and the city release with a bunch of random stars, characters, colorful shapes etc all over it. There are ways to convey femininity without looking like an ad for a hello kitty store. Sailor moon alone with a maybe shiny pearlized white background and the logo would be perfect imo.
Viz is more nice colors and bright and closest to HD like the German but with soft modern colors. The case can do some work compared to the others but it’s quite nice
6:58 Actually ADV did release Boxsets for the DiC dub the ones for the first season had CDs. Each of the four contained 16-24 Episodes on 3-4 discs. Sorry just wanted to clear up something.
Hi there! 👋 Your video looks really detailed and fantastic! Great job in the way of comparison. But what I realised that the Australian company Madman Entertainment released the Sailor Moon series and films in Remastered HD version weren’t included in your review. I believe that they were released later after you uploaded your video, and I want to ask you if you purchased and checked them out? If so, how is it compared with the other regions? Thank you for your effort!
Australian's Blu-rays from Madman Entertainment is simply Amazing! 🤩 I hope they'll be able to reacquire the sailor moon license and release all of sailor moon sailor stars 😭
The best quality is in the early episodes of the Classic series on the Italian DVD. I do not know why subsequent episodes were poor quality. There are rumors that the Japanese sent to the Italian original first master, and it was lost somewhere. There, the image quality was significantly better than on any other DVD release.
Yeah, it's so sad we don't have the German dub (which is pretty good) with good looking footage. I think it was done because the German TV footage was speeded up a bit. So I guess it was too hard to edit it? I don't know if you could just slow it down, or if that wouldn't work. But aside from this I like the German boxes. We're getting our first BluRay release soon with one box per season!^^ (Stupid thing is, I already own the 10 DVD boxes - and I'm a student, so... I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy them since it's obviously a lot of money.)
Germany finally got the Japanese hd masters too. The reason for the German dvd in this video is that the German tv version, wich is on the dvd, runs a bit faster than the Japanese version. But finally we in Germany can watch it in hd with German dub or Japanese
they actually have a description of the bad guys! Instead of the Bad Guy... just sitting there my favorite part Also, not sure if i could get used to black Luna instead of purple Luna
+Cucas Nerdy Corner I have a link to the review for that one in the description. When I filmed this I didn't have it yet and the other video has pretty good comparisons already.
For the first two American boxes do you happen to know if the VIZ one (smaller pink box I think?) Do the dubbed voices sound different then the voices in the blue box? Like different voice actors. Edit: I just re watched the video and the blue is only subtitled correct? Do you happen to know which company made the first American dubbed version before Viz?
Well I'm glad viz is improving sailor moon blu rays. Planning on getting sailor moon r blu ray re-release. Are you planning on making a review when all 5 seasons get re-released blu rays?
A 9:29 ACTUALLY the Italian company that released Sailor Moon is I though owned by Viz!! So how did they get good masters and the US get bad masters??!!
Sailor Moon 90s Anime I am not happy with the Viz Media color Quality If the Official French Dub does not have English subtitles Can you. recommend a seller that uses the Original unedited Japanese good high quality master discs with English Subtitles and the original Japanese Language? It does not mot matter if it is bootleg copy with English Subtitles Just as long as it is a high quality product with beautiful art artwork Thank You So Much for your time as well as patients I am a anime fan as well as a big Sailor Moon fan as well as an artist this is why I care so much about quality Neil Barron P.S. I am interested in the 90$ anime movies as well as the series I hard thiete Iis even Sailor Moon special movie about Ami or Amy but I think this aired only in Japan 😁
Sometimes it's what you get when you watch something dubbed (crappy transfers) when talking to the German dub.... It was hilarious to hear Usagi's voice in Spanish 😂 when I think of Sailor moon's voice to me the only one that comes to mind is Kotono Mitsuishi's voice.... I do want to buy the actual DVD releases but for now that I really can't do much I'm going to stick to my bootleg version of season 1 the online one I transferred to phisical media (from the Australian blu rays and hardcoded English subs)
I know this video is already 7 years old, but German here. The reason why the German disc has 2 different video files is because the German video & DUB are slightly faster than the original. A German episode of Sailor moon lasts about 19 minutes, while the original about 23 minutes. So they simply put in the video files as they where first shown Ono German TV in late 90s. The rights holder of the German DUB and video masters (TV broadcaster „RTL2“) didn’t store them correctly resulting in the bad quality. The video however is except for the bad quality and the different opening, exactly the same a the Japanese one just slightly faster (unlike in the US where the first TV release had a lot of editing). But Sailor Moon also got a new German Blu-Ray release 4 years ago (by the same publisher). This time not only does each box included a whole Season (not just half of it) but they also edited the German audio files to fit the Japanese video, so it now comes in a fresh HD remaster. :) By the way the German Anime Label responsible for the sailor moon disc release „Kazé Anime“, is technically also Viz Media. Like they changed their name like hundreds of times since the 90s but the company technically stayed the same, they were first called „Anime Virtual“, then „Viz Media Europe“ then „AV Visionen“ then „Anime Video“, then „Kazé Anime“ (as in your video) and nowadays „Crunchyroll Germany“
i just saw some of your Moon stuff. its pretty dope. do you have that 4,000 sealed box set that I saw on ebay? And do you know how often this company reprints their DVD's and trading cards?
Thanks! I do have those sets but whatever you do, don’t buy those. That listing is extremely overpriced. There are no reprints as Viz owns the license now.
@@SailorTortilla was it true that the reason Sailor Moon stopped coming on in the states because the creator fell out with the company. btw I saw the creator and shes fine as hell...
sgr7th That wasn’t a possibility in the early 2000’s. Toei stopped international licenses altogether until about 2014 when Viz and Funimation were bidding for them.
ok im going to straight in the japanese names than the usa/european titles the japanese titles are pretty soldiers sailormoon. in japan just like resident evil and megaman . biohazard and rockman in japan thats where they got it from. originally.
I really enjoy the new french stars dub. The classic french dub sounds really good too! Did you know that in SMS Haruka is a man in civilian form in the french dub? I am still scratching my head over that...Would love to have the french sets someday.
It's because they didn't want to let child know about homosexuality (yes it's stupid) but it's strange in France cuz some episode it's a girl other it's a man, SOmetimes it's like he is a civiian man and woman once transform...
I hate the viz artwork on the cases/discs. I'm really loving the australian release but I don't wanna buy a new player just to watch an r4 disc :( Other wise I'd totally buy the australian version. I know i could watch it on my pc but I prefer using my ps4 and wish we didn't have to deal with these different region movies.
Oh interesting! So if I bought a DVD I could either get Japanese subtitled and the new English voice actor dub; Another foreign language and Japanese subtitled; or the old English version without any additional Japanese subtitle version. Right?
@@SailorTortilla I thought you said that bu you really didn't clarify things for me, are you saying that there are 2 video transfers, one for the German. or Deutsch track and one for the original Japanese track?
I am looking to buy the complete set of Season ! for my nieces in Ireland - do you have any idea what release or company make that would be? I'm having a really hard time trying to sort it out. Thanks!
I'd love to have an answer, but the best resort would be to buy the Australian version (it has English subs and dub) and play it on a region-free DVD player. Madman (madman.com.au/) ships them internationally.
Very cool comparison video, love it. The French version looks pretty cool. Well I think I know why the german version became off sync at the end, because they played it for some reason a bit faster. That's also the reason why kaze did put two masters on it, cause they said if they would use the german dub on the japanese master they would have had to slow down the dub and then it wouldn't sound the same. Do you know that the headcompany of Kaze is VIZ Switzerland?
Not quite accurate. Kazé was founded in the 90's as a french independant company which released anime on VHS and then DVD. They were bought out in 2009 by Shueisha and Shogakukan which own Viz Media. Now Kazé is affiliated to Viz Media Europe which has its HQs in Paris, France. Not Switzerland. You are mistaking with Kazé Deutschland which is actually not Kaze at all. They were formerly known as Anime Virtual and got renamed to Kazé Deutschland the same year Kazé was bought. KD is indeed affiliated to Viz Switzerland for language reason as they manage everything for german speaking countries. They may share names, shareholders, licences and stuff but they are different companies with different history and markets hence why there are so many differences in the end products.
+Tobias Moser Oh really? Sounds like it's a PAL-related issue. I recall something like that happening here with Bandai's old releases of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence because they included both the original Manga UK dub (which was recorded here in the states and mixed in PAL) and their own redub (with some of the same voice cast) but they screwed up the UK dub with voices being distorted and not sounding right at all. This reasoning actually makes more sense than what I previously heard elsewhere about the German DVDs ("German master included because of dub fans who wanted it like the old TV broadcast").
A similar thing happened with the region 1 dvd of Kiki's Delivery service from 2003. If you watch it subtitled, it plays better quality during the credits because they didn't have a good source to use for credits redone in English text. The songs were also changed for the english dub but are now identical to the Japanese release in the 2010 dvd/2014 blu-ray.
+Knightmessenger That sounds more like Alternate Angles with the credits, was there an option to change it with the remote's angle button? I know FUNimation was known for doing this with their DVDs up until 2008 when they stopped.

i didn't think the French version when it comes 2 marketing they nailed it. they've got the nice artwork.
Love your channel! Also, Germans usually have great blu-ray as DVD sets for anime. They look just as great as the Japanese releases.
Exactly what I was looking for. The US Blu Rays seem like very nice quality. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the thoughtful response, I’m really glad that my points still resonate a few years in!
@@SailorTortilla You're welcome! I enjoy your videos, and yes, they totally resonate years later. And honestly, the ADV box set is still gorgeous. They put so much thought into it.
I'm always happy to see new videos from you :)
Thanks!

20:51 "MexCIo?"
Please review/compare the 2022 set and hope you're doing well
Wow, the non-American packagings are all so pretty! #jealous
Love this video! , cant wait to look for the french dvds when im in paris later this year !
🌟 Hi, Sailor Tortilla;
I was wondering
What is your opinion of the French Dub in general for The Kaze DVD Set discussed in this video? , and especially What is your opinion of the French voice actress that played Usagi for The Kaze DVD Collector’s Set shown in this viiseo?
Thanks,
Have a great day!…..
Namaste!…..
Your Friend!…..

Ahh great video ^3^. I'll have to say the Mexican is the best because I'm Mexican hehe, viva la Mexcio!!!
When the new NA blu-ray set comes out can you do a comparison (hopefully it uses better masters)
I really hope it does have better masters! However, if it did it would likely be slapped all over the advertising…
@@SailorTortilla I'm holding onto hope lol!
I think I might end up getting rid of my S1&2 LE box sets regardless just to free up space
Lovely sailor moon collection
Timing is off due to regional playback standards. Europe uses PAL at 25 frames per second, and North American releases are 23.976 frames per second. And yes, that does mean if you live outside the original region of release for a piece of media, the version you watch is usually going to be very slightly faster or slower than it's really supposed to be.
hey we've talked before about buying the old version from D.I.C English dubbed. are ADV DVDs still good to buy that had the D.I.C entertainment voices and music or is that the new Viz media crap they selling in Walmart?????
Will you be doing a review of the new Viz medias Blu-rays? I heard that they’re visually different and is not as heavily edited.
Mig Scre it's just the plastic.
Viz is more nice colors and bright and closest to HD like the German but with soft modern colors.
The case can do some work compared to the others but it’s quite nice
Be sure to see in the Sailor Venus DVD it's written V2 on the edge. They did a little mistake on the audio (french box)
Really helpful information if u want to get sailor moon first season, thanks 😊👍😁
6:58 Actually ADV did release Boxsets for the DiC dub the ones for the first season had CDs. Each of the four contained 16-24 Episodes on 3-4 discs. Sorry just wanted to clear up something.
Do you mean the UK boxed set? I’m not aware of another but I’d love to see pics!
There are ones released in the US I have Part 3 and 4 both are Region 1.
I heard that Viz Media will be releasing the complete first season of Sailor Moon on Blu-ray on June 14.
Yep! No word on the video master though.
Love the Mexican talk box. Wish I had one, even if I don’t understand Mexican. XD
I like all of them, yes even the Viz release.
Hi there! 👋
Your video looks really detailed and fantastic!
Great question! I did not however buy any new version of the movies.
Australian's Blu-rays from Madman Entertainment is simply Amazing! 🤩 I hope they'll be able to reacquire the sailor moon license and release all of sailor moon sailor stars 😭
they eventually did, but it was quite a long wait between stars parts 1 and 2! Now we need SM Eternal, which hasn't been released outside Japan.
@@MiguelGonzalez-ov3xy oh I know, this comment is old 🤣 can't believe it's took so long though lol
@@MiguelGonzalez-ov3xy sm eternal is on Netflix, there probably won't be a physical release
The best quality is in the early episodes of the Classic series on the Italian DVD. I do not know why subsequent episodes were poor quality. There are rumors that the Japanese sent to the Italian original first master, and it was lost somewhere. There, the image quality was significantly better than on any other DVD release.
Lumperator I have the Italian version of Stars and it looks superb. I don't have this experience at all.
I’m very curious to see those Blu-ray boxes!
Germany finally got the Japanese hd masters too.
The reason for the German dvd in this video is that the German tv version, wich is on the dvd, runs a bit faster than the Japanese version.
But finally we in Germany can watch it in hd with German dub or Japanese
What are your thoughts on the newer Vis media releases from 2022 to 2024?
You can actually use that blu box to store five of the Dic DVD’s (that’s what I use mine for just because I couldn’t let that blu outer box go
they actually have a description of the bad guys! Instead of the Bad Guy... just sitting there
my favorite part
Also, not sure if i could get used to black Luna instead of purple Luna
We need a release for uk/Ireland. We are always forgotten...
I thought you had the Madman's Australian set too? I thought you would show comparisons of it too
+Cucas Nerdy Corner I have a link to the review for that one in the description. When I filmed this I didn't have it yet and the other video has pretty good comparisons already.
Sailor Aije Tortilla do you know if the original sailor moon hands fit other senshi sh figuarts???
Hey Aije, I just got my very own Proplica Cosmic Heart Compact for Christmas!
+dmuldoon22 congrats! Do you love it?
Sailor Aije Tortilla I sure do!
I LOVE the posters in the back! Could I ask where you purchase them? Thanks a lot. Love the channel :)
I got those back in around 2014 from AnimeOsaka.
Sailor Tortilla thank you :)
3:10 Okay, France why the fuck did you had to put a 7+ on there when rated TV-14 and TV-PG?
Viz went cheap with sailor moon blu rays. It's sad because funimation gave us the amazing Dragon ball z dragon boxes.
Well I'm glad viz is improving sailor moon blu rays. Planning on getting sailor moon r blu ray re-release. Are you planning on making a review when all 5 seasons get re-released blu rays?
I hope to! I adore the first new set already and it looks amazing.
@@SailorTortilla yeah I was wondering if you could do a comparison with the original and re-released viz blurays in a video?
I've the viz version on DVD and the viz version movies..❤❤❤🌸.
A 9:29 ACTUALLY the Italian company that released Sailor Moon is I though owned by Viz!! So how did they get good masters and the US get bad masters??!!
Sailor Moon 90s Anime
I am not happy with the Viz Media color Quality If the
Official French Dub does not
have English subtitles Can you. recommend a seller that uses the Original unedited
Japanese good high quality master discs with English Subtitles
and the original Japanese Language?
It does not mot matter if it is bootleg copy with
English Subtitles Just as long as it is a high quality product with beautiful art artwork
Thank You So Much for your time as well as patients
I am a anime fan as well as a big Sailor Moon fan as well as an artist this is why I care so much about quality
Neil Barron
P.S. I am interested in the 90$
anime movies
as well as the series I hard thiete Iis even Sailor Moon special movie about Ami or Amy but I think this aired only in Japan 😁
And I just got a Irwin doll white dress Sailor Moon doll too.
Ironically I've never bought the adv set since I thought it was bootleg!!!!
These videos are excellent! Super helpful and informative; thanks for making them :D
DAMN, FRANCE. o_____O
+SukiNoKoe damn, France. Back at it again with the nice boxes.
Lol I wonder if my favorite shoujo series got pretty boxes from France too.....XD it's way more underground though....;_;
By the way the German Anime Label responsible for the sailor moon disc release „Kazé Anime“, is technically also Viz Media.
This is insightful. So glad to hear there is now a better version out there for Germans!
i just saw some of your Moon stuff. its pretty dope. do you have that 4,000 sealed box set that I saw on ebay? And do you know how often this company reprints their DVD's and trading cards?
Thanks! I do have those sets but whatever you do, don’t buy those. That listing is extremely overpriced. There are no reprints as Viz owns the license now.
@@SailorTortilla was it true that the reason Sailor Moon stopped coming on in the states because the creator fell out with the company. btw I saw the creator and shes fine as hell...
Nope, it was because the licenses expired
@@SailorTortilla but if they wanted to continue business they wouldve renewed them. just sayin
sgr7th That wasn’t a possibility in the early 2000’s. Toei stopped international licenses altogether until about 2014 when Viz and Funimation were bidding for them.
ok im going to straight in the japanese names than the usa/european titles the japanese titles are pretty soldiers sailormoon. in japan just like resident evil and megaman . biohazard and rockman in japan thats where they got it from. originally.
Do the french DVD’s have french closed captioning in french that correspondas to the french tracks? How about the Italian and German editions?
I really enjoy the new french stars dub. The classic french dub sounds really good too! Did you know that in SMS Haruka is a man in civilian form in the french dub? I am still scratching my head over that...Would love to have the french sets someday.
It's because they didn't want to let child know about homosexuality (yes it's stupid) but it's strange in France cuz some episode it's a girl other it's a man, SOmetimes it's like he is a civiian man and woman once transform...
I now need to know what dub I have >_>
Omg! Why is the French version so much better than the American one? Not fair!!! :/
i have like season 4 en the r movie in french, i live like 20minutes of the boarder to france and i can just go buy them there so yey :)
Why is the Warner Bros logo is on the back of these Sailor Moon DVDs and Blu-Rays?
They’re the distributor. They print the DVDs and Blurays.
What is distributor?
Do you know where to get a DVD or Blue Ray complete set for england which is dubbed for sailor moon.
Maaan, I just got the ADV uncut sets and you are NOT kidding about the audio being absolutely terrible. Not sure if it's even worth hanging on to. :/
I completely understand. I think the boxes are the nicest thing.
I have a question. The ADV set had episodes that were never released in the US. Does the VIS blu ray have these episodes as well?
Yep, and dubbed!
I like the colors so much better on the viz version I think it makes it look a lot better, the colors are a lot more bland on the other releases
wow luna is really closer to black in the German version compaired to the others
JLG120586 only for the dub. the sub has the remaster.
Okay I'm wondering which dvd to buy that has a good Japanese sub and the older English dub (not the newer voice actors. I want Terri Hawkes)
Help?
The version with Terri was never released with Japanese audio tracks because the editing is so hardcore that the original JP track won’t sync :(
Oh interesting! So if I bought a DVD I could either get Japanese subtitled and the new English voice actor dub; Another foreign language and Japanese subtitled; or the old English version without any additional Japanese subtitle version. Right?
At 16:52 I thought you said the German transfer sucked? Did I misunderstand and you just meant the box art was high quality stuff (with Kaze?)
The dub version had very poor video.
@@SailorTortilla I thought you said that bu you really didn't clarify things for me, are you saying that there are 2 video transfers, one for the German. or Deutsch track and one for the original Japanese track?
Correct. There are two video transfers since the German language version was edited, so the subtitles don’t match up.
Does the ADV includes all the episodes of every season? Or just one?
I am looking to buy the complete set of Season ! for my nieces in Ireland - do you have any idea what release or company make that would be? I'm having a really hard time trying to sort it out. Thanks!
I'd love to have an answer, but the best resort would be to buy the Australian version (it has English subs and dub) and play it on a region-free DVD player. Madman (madman.com.au/) ships them internationally.
I'm not happy with the way any of them look. 😔 I wish they would release Sailor Moon with rich color and more clarity. Especially clarity.
+Tobias Moser HAH, looks like Viz over there has their stuff together XD.
But isn't Luna supposed to be a black cat?
Mexcio?
