Crisp, clean, complete to the last note. The perfect fade after Gadd's legendary solo. There's nothing "jive" about you OR this impressive piece of work. It's perfect 👌!!!
Much comment about Gadd and rightly so, however the piano part played by Michael Omartian is quite amazing on its own. He read from charts written by Fagan while adding a few embellishments of his own. They rehearsed the song a couple of times, then recorded it in two takes! During the rehearsal, Gadd played straight and simple. No one knew what he had planned for the final take.
Wonderful piece of CLASSIC Steely Dan, minus the Fagen vocal…and the weird coach’s whistle… It’s just missing Shorter’s sax, but awesome, nonetheless….
Such a wonderful track and you dive deep into the world of this track without the lyrics. Really appreciate you posting
Love you Wayne Shorter, but hearing the pristine Steve Gadd fills in all their glory is ASTONISHING.

This is my new favorite channel! I've been binging all these cool remixes you've done - great stuff.
sounds like the rhythm section extracted from the final mix; Gadd’s drum coda is beat for beat identical…amazing
PROPER!!!!!!
I hear references to "Rikki Don’t Lose That Number".
I think it happens to be the same Piano Player - Michael Omartian (a God), and he is also the same guy with Chris Cross. He produced that LP
The best song!!!

I like the coach's whistle because it is such a surprise. The sax is missed.
Is this an alternate take, or is this just the rhythm section on its own?
Jon, it’s the lp version sans vocals, marimba, tenor sax, guitar solos and Donald’s whistle.
And without Donalds' synths at the coda. @@Dan-o-Steely2000
