whenever a captain says "what am i supposed to do" you know youre sol
Why what was he suppose to do it was a freak wave that came out of no where take it you don't fish 👍
exactly, what a pos leader
For real! Watching that clip and hearing him ask that, I was thinking “You saw the freaking waves. WARN THEM!!”
Uh oh, ..not a good sign
Exactly! He came across as weak, inept and not a captain to be respected.
Jake was such a hothead in his younger years on the deck. But it’s been fantastic watching his transformation into a mature, experienced authoritative captain. He handles his crew with respect yet is unafraid to tackle older deckhands who push their luck with him - he is brilliant at handling them. Seeing him on one episode dump the belongings at the dock of crew who were drinking in the bar instead of reporting for work, was epic. I was whooping with joy 🤣. You’re a great guy Jake 🙂🇬🇧
Right now JAKE IS VERY SICK IN HIS SHIP THEY WILL NOT TREAT HIM BECAUSE OF LACK OF moneyBECAUSE THEIR BOSS REFUSES TO GIVE THEM THEIR PAY. SO IF THEY GET SICK SUCH as JAKE THEY ARe out of LUCK. THEY WILL DIE IN THOSE SHIPS BECAUSE THEY GET THEIR FOOD SUPPLIES AND ALL OTHER SUPPLIES WHEN THEIR BOSS FEELs like sending THEIR DELIVERY SOMETIMES THEY GO 6 days or more At a time without eating a thing. This is health and medical abuse from their boss I don’t know his name. I know Jake personally and he tells me these things. Please help Jake before something drastic happens to him. He has a handicap child at home. ❤️❤️❤️ THOSE MEN GO THROUGH LOTS OF DANGER AND HEALTH ABUSE BECAUSE OF THEIR BOSS JAKE A. IS VERY SICK RIGHT NOW IF SOMEONE READS THIS AND CAN HELP IN SOME WAY PLEASE DO IT ASAP PLEASE!!!!!!
The Captains support Jake as a former Crew and as a Captain. It takes a lot to get that kind of respect especially from Captain Sig of the Northwestern. These guys don’t know how fortunate they are to have Jake as their Captain. They’re so ungrateful but I believe it’s mostly constantly hearing it from one guy -Complaining constantly wears down a crew and spreads like poison. They have that 1 guy who never stops. Get rid of him and find peace & prosperity on the deck.
Jake isn't a boss... He's a leader
Agreed! He’s great
He sucks lol.
it's difficult to navigate in the darkness, let alone being in rough seas
How do you know eh
Didn't Capt. Sig have Jake dunked into the water when he was a greenhorn, too? I guess some things never change. lol. He was baptized as a deckhand by Sig and now again as a Captain. lol!
When Jake became captain I felt old, you remember Jake wanting to get their Jackets, he had to earn it. Honestly it almost feels like the other day when I watched those episodes for the first time.

@@kirara2516 SIG IS A BULLY CAPTAIN. I PERSONALLY THINK HE SEES JAKE ANDERSON AS A THREAT. I DONT LIKE SIG. 🤪🤪🤪😩😩
It seems like there's probably safety features that could be implemented on the boat, but I guess it's cheaper to hire new crew
There's only so much you can do in the middle of the wild Bearing Sea. You could be the safest boat in the fleet, but all it takes is one rogue wave.
Bro the titanic was an “unsinkable ship” and look where that got them the ocean is strong like very strong even some military ships are rendered useless when the waves are large enough
No amount of safety features can really save you if it gets bad enough on the ocean.
@@Sy7ther The titanic was designed to be unsinkable but had severe manufacturing flaws (What happens when you outsource work) and a questionably trained crew
Safety features like what?
What is the captain suppose to do, YELL at the BERING SEA and tell it not to get the deckhand wet? 🤦🏻♀️
Intercom system to warn people of an incoming wave. That's his job to protect is deckhands.
@@robinabernathy2829that’s called a rogue wave buddy, not enough time to even grab the radio before the waves hit, use your eyes lol
@@its_ball.Wasn't a rogue wave but you can't really see the wave at night and all it takes is for you to get a little crooked and for the wave to be a little bigger than the rest and you'll flood the deck
@@timothykappel198 definitely was a rogue wave, use your brain 🤡
Damn what do you even do when a wave like that hits the boat like that as a captain?
How kenny wasnt fired after the forst snide remark
If the boat is way way out in ocean there's no point quitting cause whether your your on deck or inside the boat your doomed. That was super dangerous
they urgently need oxygen masks in case of fire or smoke. The smell of burned clutch is very typical. Bad job of the Saga crew they searched so long for the soruce of the smoke. Also the clutch should be checked and replaced at regular intervals. It´s called maintenance
They acc have tanks of air that are the same as firefighters but i think they prioritise finding the issue rather than their own health and they also have oxygen which is the very opposite they need in a fire it would lead to a huge combustion but they do have some ive seen in a first aid kit type thing but the one episode ive seen it the deckhands helping the one who had just got smoke inhalation says’do you even know how to use this’ so honestly not the biggest positive lmfao
should have an oxygen mask and a few tanks of air
Them deckhand need to toughn up dame.. its a job at sea lol a warning lmao toughen up
Young guys don’t understand. Do you ever see these season captains looking for a pat on the head for every string that they do? It seems like that’s what these kids nowadays need is participation trophy kiss on the cheek and a piece of cake for doing their job, I just don’t understand.
Horrible crew. They have no clue. Go work for one of the other Captains, if they’d have you after hearing the way you talked about Jake.
I had so much respect for Sig till I saw the clip now he’s lost all respect. That was cruel, disrespectful, disgusting and not what a captain does to another captains ship. Sig you should be ashamed and begging for forgiveness. I know if that happened to him(Sig) he would take legal action. Shame shame shame.
When? What are you waffling about?
What are you on about 😅
Hu ???????
Dafuc are you on about
@@PhoenixMoth have the crew lower jake into the water most likely
dude i loathe sig
I get what Sig is saying about the captain spot but I also get why Jake wanted to do it.
The biggest thing about being a captain is your ability to handle/drive the boat all the other bs doesn't matter.

That wasn’t nice from Captain Sig. Great job Captain Jake
The fact that the crew listened to Sig is funny. Not his crew but they listen to him and don’t cross him 😆
Let's be honest Here.
If I had the chance to drop my captain in the water at the command of another captain, I would do it without thinking.
I might even drop my captain in the water just for fun, because the down control got stuck, you know.
@@jeffshackleford3152literally was thinking the same thing! I can dunk my boss without getting fired! Let’s go! Lol 😂
"I'll be down here for at least an hr!".. 8hrs later 😬
I keep seeing Captain Jake as a caring responsible multiverse version of Charlie Day
He honestly reminds me of Eljia Wood. I can't unsee Eljia every time I see his face.
@@Scott-fy7fm HE IS A VERY CARING AND KIND SOUL VERY HUMBLE TOO. THAT MAKES HIM VERY SPECIAL. ❤️❤️❤️❤️JAKE. ANDERSON
He looks like a walking cigarette.
You know what i think people forget about ol Jake here
Is this dude LITERALLY worked every position for 20 years and we all watched him do it and grow
And look where he is now
the captain from the saga remindes me of jessie pinkman for some reason and that means hes a good dude in my book
He's also a drug addict so it checks out
“What am I supposed to do”
Maybe give them a heads up 😂😂😂 🤷♂️🤦♂️
For those who don't know how big surges can be, then I hope this is fatal on pure impact.
I have worked on a Swedish crab boat for almost 12 years.
Take care!!
That should make them get some full face breathing apparatus so they have this sort of a Smoke Up much easier to work on and eliminate the danger. Its better to have the apparatus and not need it rather than need it and not have it, esp as you are so vulnerable so far from port, and that's is good weather. Imagine a raging southerly blowing the Ice Pack toward your stranded boat, OMG! Safety First Shipmates.
I saw a clip of another ship that had one so they could go into the engine room and carry out repairs.. may have been Sig’s Northwestern
They're supposed to have them!! I'm pretty sure it's a requirement for all boats! Just for this reason!!
Dam a little heads up for your crew when a ginormous wave hits the boat. All he could say was what was I supposed to do. I don’t know give the guys a heads up maybe.
He didn't see it. Its pitch black out on open water.
Captain: Doesn't expect a completely unexpected event
Crew: "and I took that personally"
*Very easy way to die!
The last thing you wanna hear from a captain over the haler is "What do I do"
Worst deckhands ever on the SAGA. Jake should fire them all.
You can't blame captain when the wave hits, obviously warning helps if you have time to give it.
Damn I love Sig 😂
What is the Captain doing in a tote over the boat
Always a drama on the Saga
There’s no way of avoiding a rogue wave!! They come out of nowhere and are impossible to predict or warn anyone about!! They’re just lucky that they even managed to survive, the boat I mean!! Most boats, even the biggest cargo container ships have been taken sometimes so quickly that they didn’t even have enough time to send a distress signal!! Brutal
They know what they sign up for, they should know what a rogue wave is, can’t point fingers in that situation at all 🤦
How do you know eh,🥱
Miss the old days of the show
I betya that we the audience all experience similar feelings when watching the show, the highs and the lows we are on their side all the way.
Jake Anderson are those types of steel ships y’all are using to crab, are they singable?❤ I know it’s singable by fire❤
The SAGA has way too much Drama. Drama is starting at the top, and is trickling down.
Why don’t they have breathing apparatus’ onboard ffs?
It looks like your gut was totally wrong
Moaning about the waves
That guys son, does NOT, want to be a captain!
Up. Up. Up. Love. Love ❤️. Up. 🙏✌️👍🍎💯
Can you also eat the body of the crabs too❤❤
Some of these guys are Baby’s!
whose the old dude who could pass as a high school science teacher running the boat with jake?
Cough why don’t you!
Have another cigarette fellas
There is not enough pats on the heads, to go around on the Saga. From the wheelhouse to the deck. A bunch of sensitive boys. All of them are addicted to drama. Middle school mentality. These men feed off of each other. I’m not there, so it shouldn’t speak on the maturity or emotions of these gentlemen. But really it’s kind of pathetic..
Being a captain you have to make those decisions for all that’s involved. That’s why you get paid the big bucks Jake!
Nick don’t let him do anything. Really Jake you think Mavar is gonna save you! Lol 😂
Theres a tick growing in the back of my head his name is people in the comments
So, he shouldnt paint the boat because makes him look weak. Sho he comes over and embarrasses him by dunking him in the water. Lmao That solidified his authority lol
lower me down in a plastic crate so i can paint my name.....lol
Why no respirators? or Oxigene.
Jake was no captain back then.
Jack Daniel's 😊
Jake has ZERO management skills.
Everyone has to start somewhere
Worked on fishing ship around 2000 and even then when we worked outside we always wear a helmet to protect our head
A helmet does not make an iota of difference with a crab boat. A single cage can take your life in the best of conditions. When you factor in the Bering Sea, Rogue Waves, hydraulic mishaps the danger increases exponentially. Losing your skull is just 1 dangee. Working on a factory ship is night & day. Insurers require A helmet, even if they will likewise do nothing.
I've been watching this show for 2 decades and that first clip was the craziest thing I've seen on this show in 20 seasons.
i hope you realize they hit this show with a thousand ad interruptions..
Watch on a laptop with Adblock plus...
All this for a thing that’s not even good without butter.
A good captain will never ask a deckhand to do something he wouldn't do himself. Sig is a bad captain.
Great catch
No. He's not.
But that doesn't mean he has to do it either. You don't make them do anything you wouldn't do but it's also not your job to do it. The biggest thing about being a captain is your ability to handle/drive the boat all the other bs doesn't matter.
Do you not notice how sig has the most steady crew while everyone else rotates out crew regularly? There's a reason for that.
What utter nonsense!
Egos and commitment keep them out there. Bless there hearts
Great show! Big balled fellas if I ever saw any! I cried when Phill passed. You got attached to those courageous and crazy crews! God bless and God speed! 😘🫂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🛥️
