I seem to recognize most pool swimmers but hardly know any open water ones unless they also do the 1500m. Perhaps because they don’t get as much coverage on tv.
@@SocialKickSwim it was getting very popular in the UK because it feels good to swim in a cold water outdoors. However various water authorities admitted that the majority of outdoor places have had very poor quality for decades. Eg contain sewage. Generally people swim together so if one suffers a cramp others can help.

Yea, not nearly as much coverage. They swim once (not prelims, semis, finals). Also, US isn't as dominant so not as much coverage.
