I was a kid, too, but still remember those old black-and-white images. I also remember her voice and the chickens! I will share this vlog with my sister who, unlike me, actually WANTED to learn how to cook. That looks like a pretty cool place to be interred but because I am afraid of sharks I will not be laid to rest under the sea :)
Gosh Jordan you really compiled great pictures & told thorough story of Julia & her husband, all in 15 mins! I knew about Neptune burial but I too thought she had been a spy for USA. Thanks for dispelling that. In my best Julia Child voice, here is a line I remember her saying one time on her PBS show "tomatoes belong On Top of the refrigerator, & not inside of it!" Ha ha! Thanks again Jordan, good work.
I had no idea that there was such a cemetery. Very interesting thank you. I never watched Julia very much but her cookbook was a staple in most kitchens of my friends. I do like the movie Julia vs. Julia. She was a character and Dan Akroyd played her perfectly on SNL! Lol!
She was actually part of the OSS the forerunner of the CIA during World War 2 fighting against the Nazis. But yet she was actually the best cook ever made on TV program.
I loved her show on PBS. I learned to cook watching her show. I think there wouldn't be a Food Network or all these TV chefs and cooking shows if it wasn't for her. She got us away from Jell-o salads. I hope she and Paul rest in peace. Thank you for telling her story. Take care.
Thank you for that Jordan. I too like so many others did not know she is part of the Neptune Society. Julia was such a trailblazer! The food networks and Rachael Rays and Martha Stewarts of the world have her to thank.
I sure remember her when I was a lil guy watching her on TV lol I liked cooking shows as we had food but not alot in the house growing up! So it was Julia Child & also the Galloping Gourmet they were just tasty to watch lol. This was a awesome vlog & job Jordan we always learn so much Ty. Luv&Peace Sean&family. 🙂✌🏼
I have always admired Julia Child - and I don't cook! What a varied life she had. I loved watching her on PBS because she was so entertaining. And I've never laughed so hard as when Dan Aykroyd of SNL did his impersonation. Such a nice tribute and what an inspiration. Thanks Jordan!!!! ☺️😊🥰❤️☀️🌴🦩🥰
Thank you Jordan for this fascinating episode, grew up watching Julia and loved her show. So happy to know she had a wonderful life and married the man who made her so happy 😃 Julia Child is an American institution and very much admired. Love her grave, I myself am going to have my ashes along with all my cats thrown into Hampton Beach in NH, love that beach and spent most of my early life there a purrfect place for me to reside🐾😎
Thank you for this! I grew up in Glendale and Pasadena is right next door. The house where Julia grew up is the epitome of Old Money WASP upper class style. Sadly in recent years neglected
Great video. I just love Julia. I watched her as a kid on our local PBS station. Loved the movie Julie &Julia. It is really good and covers her cooking career and touches a little on her military. It does talk about Paul, a lot.
We live in the U.K. and were unfamiliar with Julia, however after watching this vlog we googled her name and found 'Favourite Moments from the French Chef' on you tube - what an amazing personality! Many thanks Jordan for introducing our family to this unique and fascinating lady. What an interesting life.
I didn't know. Julia got her tv cooking show when she was older, but the way she cooked on tv looked like she's been cooking all her life since she was a child. Julia, RIP, love you.
WOW! I never ever knew that Julia is/was buried in the bottom of the ocean!! That's definitely ONE WAY to definitely make sure that folks definitely DON'T visit your final resting place!! Thanks, Jordan, for the info!!!
Thank you, Jordan. Another fine, interesting vlog. Keep em coming. See you on the next. Shoutout from your friend at the Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Bless you and yours, brother. Go with God. Peace.
I loved Miss Child. My dear friend Meredith's brother-in-law lived next door to her in I think France and they spent several Thanksgivings at her home. Can you imagine? I had no idea her final resting place was down here. I'll have to go visit. I thought I knew all the celebrities down here. Yesterday I went to Pompano to visit the graves of two sisters and that's all I'll say because I don't want to spoil it if you are going to do it in the near future. But I have brought them flowers a couple of times out of respect and admiration. Great job as always! Oh my bad,😂 I hadn't watched the whole thing yet LOL. So now I know where she is.
I had no idea she was 6ft 2. That's crazy. I love how she found her best life. As far as being buried underwater. That is just a cool unique thing to do.
@@OliveMule except that you don’t know why Julia decided to be buried on the reef, at sea. You don’t know if she did it to be cool or what (not trying to be mean, just trying to be objective). If you’re lucky enough to choose where you’ll be buried, maybe you’ll write down WHY you’ve chosen that spot.
Thank you … again … for an amazing story! I barely remember seeing her on TV … but I remember her voice the most … and she was care free and sort of funny! And her grave is amazing … never knew anyone could be buried like that! lol Give smooches to JAH! 🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸
There is no person who has ever lived for whom I have more respect than Julia Child. She was everything a person, let alone a woman, could and should be. I asked you years ago to do a video about her and I'm so glad you finally did. I thought I knew everything but this under water grave was something I never knew. It was so like her to do something so unique and special. I'm sure she did it so that people wouldn't be desecrating her final resting place. She may have had other reasons we'll never know. Rest in peace, dear Julia. We miss you.
Underwater graves - awesome. I had no idea. Thank you for sharing this fascinating lady's life. The movie 'Julie & Julia' is a good insight into her life.
My sister took care of Paul she was a nurse at the retirement home where he passed away. Julia was in often to see him. He was in Lexington Massachusetts at Fairlawn.
I didn't know that there is a underwater burial site!! It is so interesting about her life! I loved to watch her show all the time with my mom while growing up! She had a sense of humor! MIss that show!! The old cooking shows , I missed them all!! :(
I remember watching Julia Child as a child and was fascinated by her accent and the how easy she made things look. I think she and Justin Williams (The Cagon Chief) were two of the best cooking shows.
Thanks Jordan for sharing this interesting memorial of Julia Childs. Never knew this type of formal grave existed. She was quite a lady with an adventurous way about her. Her cooking cuisine revolutionized many households. I enjoyed seeing the movie they made on her life story. ❣️❤️🐕🦺🌴
Jordan, I loved this vlog!!…I used to watch Julia on (WTTW) PBS in Chicago…I loved her so much…Thank you for all the hard work you put into bringing us such interesting stories in your vlogs!!!…Say hi to Jah!!!…☺️🥰
Fascinating piece Jordan. I had not even heard of the Neptune Society. What an incredible life she had. Thank you so much for sharing this Jordan. Great video. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
Awesome video...I grew up watching her cook. I always loved her voice and I knew she was a tall woman because some of her guests would be smaller in height. RIP Julia
oh my never knew her ashes buried underwater, how interesting. good thing there were pictures, I myself not into snorkling lol. RIP Julia. thanks Jordan...stay safe
👍👏👏👏💕 Thanks Jordan. Julia Childs is one of my Favorite French Chefs. I have seen a video of her grave..I think it's Awesome. We have scuba dived in California. I loved it. Haven't done it in years. It's not as safe as it used to be. In fact I still watch Julia on UA-cam. I heard that too she was a Spy. Thanks for Straightening that out. You the man jordan.🙂. I remember watching Julia, as a young girl! I wasn’t interested in cooking; but she was very entertaining! I think she did open people’s minds to trying different foods! Didn’t necessarily mean to try French foods; but to try any cookbook recipes.
Wow this vlog was very educational learned more about the great Julia Child i remember my parents& i watching her on PBS may she RIP yes i agree Jordan i don't do well near ocean or underwater safe travels Jordan & Jah always

WOW! THANK YOU JORDAN! You taught me so many AMAZING things about Julia I had no idea how truly interesting a live she had❤️❤️❤️ the true FIRST LADY OF TV COOKING.
Hi Jordan, Sending greetings from Minnesota! Hope you are having a beautiful day! Thank you for doing this video loved watching Julia Child with my grandmother and my great aunt. Besides having cooks in my family she got me into cooking as well. And I love it. Love all your content and binge watch it on my spare time. You rock!
Hi New Sub✌️You really know your stuff and are very well spoken. It was so nice to stumble upon your video today. I learned so much from you. What a unique way to be remembered. I wonder why she would choose to be not buried with Paul? She led such an amazing long life. 🍽
Wow, I thought I knew all about Julia Child. I had no knowledge she was buried underwater. Everything you mentioned sounded correct except I disagree about whether or not she was a spy with the OSS. I believe the jury is still out on that. I know there are credible sources who claim she was. I'm not sure myself. I'm open to the possibility she was. Regardless, to this day she's the cook I like watching more than any other.
I watched her early cooking shows, and truly loved how she would laugh at herself so much, but always showed what happened. The videos she did with Jacques Pepin are such an education.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful story. I just had to watch. I learned to cook watching her in the 1980 on PBS. But my mother was watching her show in the 1950s. or the 60s.😂

I didn't know you could do that. That's pretty cool. Kind of strange she wanted that though.

Another great video and topic!
I work in her grandfathers old paper mill in Dalton Massachusetts. She live in town as a teenager for a bit. Her mother was Byron Weston’s daughter.
Such a sweet video of Julia child life
She was an amazing woman!
Another great find by you
I told my husband when he was having self esteem issues, "I didn't marry you for your hair, I married you for your nice butt and deep voice" 😊 I love hearing he told Julia that about her legs, thats love.
Apparently she used to say about him, "I keep him happy with the three F's.. feed him, flatter him, and _____ him" lol
