This is fascinating! I knew that nuCamp RVs were well-built, but this tour of the factory goes a long way to showing and explaining exactly how well-built they are. This just confirms my choice of a TAB 400 for my new camper!
This video made me confident in buying a Cirrus truck camper here in the near future, after debating between NuCamp and Lance. Seeing the way they do quality control and organization in action of the build process sets them ahead. Plus seeing older Ohio Mennonites piecing them together vs some young guys from California makes me feel more confident in the end product. Thanks for this video!
That is one big ass solar array on the plant. Looks like they are serious about building trailers/RV's, quite the facility, very nice. What a great way to sell a product, show how well thought out the facility building them is.
We were really impressed with the facility. It takes a lot of planning and skill to run a plant like that. Hats off to them for their attention to detail and cleanliness. There was much more discussed during the tour, but I had to limit it to the key information for the sake of time. I love manufacturing technology and processes, this was the cleanest factory I’ve ever seen!
Scott, you and Sasha should feel very proud of your decision making process back when you were looking for 'the' truck camper product to meet your needs. They seem to have become the darling of the industry where innovation and quality are considered. Thank you for doing such a thorough job of documenting your Cirrus as well as the company which earned this high reputation.
This ended up being a more polished factory tour video than one normally sees on YT. I'd encourage you to think about making it available to Truck Camper Magazine in some fashion. Or at least inviting them to view it to see what they think. Nicely done!
Thanks. It was a bit of a gamble given how new the cirrus was when we bought. But nuCamps reputation gave us some confidence. We are still very happy campers. Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
I'd also like to share that when I was on my 7400 mile journey a couple weeks back the amount of times other campers that would ask to see my 820. Every person that looked at it was amazed at the quality and I was proud to share that with them. I do have mine up for adoption and I have mixed emotions of that. I have it on RV Trader and I've had 318 views and 8 emails on it. If it doesn't get adopted I will use it this winter.
We get the same thing. People see and and when we offer to give them a tour they are quite impressed! It’s an attractive rig! Good luck with your camper sale 👍
Me and the wife are looking at lances and then we came across stony boots channel and started seeing the quality and how long you’ve been in your camper and it’s really really looking like what we’re going to go with is an 820 because I own a 2018 Silverado 4 x 4 Z 71 LT and I have a suspension package I put on it I.e air-bags, fox coil overs front aftermarket control arms with 3/4 ton ball joints; just for this 820, to last a lot longer on the truck; I’d like to know your thoughts on that.
So great guys! Fantastic tour, thanks! Hope to see you on the road soon! Very nice place clean and friendly. Was there any major changes from the one you have.will be waiting on your next video.
Thanks, their factory is amazing! NuCamp has many changes coming, but I don't know what they are yet! I'll be curious to see the next generation of Cirrus 920!
Excellent video...what was the date of this tour? I have a 400 being built around this time. Did they say anything about change to composite floors on the trailers for '22 ?
August 10th 2021. They didn’t mention it during the tour. We mostly takes about the process and… the cirrus lineup. That’s where I had the most questions, since we are Cirrus owners.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to tour a 620, just poke my camera in. Those campers were not actually complete. I’ll have to take a look at the 875, thanks.
The fridge in a 620 is high on the wall above the cassette toilet. There is no fridge above the bed. Maybe you were thinking of the old 6-packs and Lance 650.
I was hoping for the same, but they really don’t have any information about the what and when of the 920. It does sound like it’s being worked on, which is good news, but no details. Soon I hope.
@@Stonyboot I'm very interested in the Cirrus and love their forward thinking and such. Very interested in when the slightly larger 920 will come back. Any plans for a dry bath option?
@@phloyboy I don't know if you are still looking for a dry bath unit...the new 920 Cirrus (2024) has a beautiful dry bath along with other fantastic and awesome features and amenities. If you found a camper, congratulations.
I know I'm late to posting comments, but didn't you have a sidewall delamination problem? You covered it in your "2 Year Review" video? Was it caused by water or heat damage, or both?
Wait a minute. Was that a vending machine for tape measures?! Where are they hiding those green teardrops with the plastic lemonade? That was a great look. Maybe it's a custom color option... That was interesting. Thanks for getting the tour. Currently, the Cirrus 820 is at the top of our list while researching our next rig.
I had an off camera conversation about the vending machines. They are indeed vending machines, workers have a card or a code they use to get replacement items like drill bits, tape measures, and other consumables. It helps track usage, minimize waste and locate inefficiencies in the production line. I’m not really up to date on modern manufacturing, but I thought that was a brilliant idea!
@@Stonyboot You'd be amazed at how many tape measures, drill bits, screw bits, etc. are mistakenly left in coverall pockets and end up at home or in the center console cup holder of a pickup truck or other vehicle. ☺
I know u have the 920 and he mentioned 920s in the manufacturing process, but do u know why there no 920s as an option on their website….only 620s and 820s? Thx
They aren’t currently building them. The rumor is that they have one in the works, but they don’t have an estimate of when it will be built. Soon I hope.
@@Stonyboot Thx. Keep up the great content. Getting my new 2022 Northern Lite in 2 months. I’ll keep an eye out for u on the road. Heading to the SW for the winter. Safe travels.
What we could see where a mixture of the 620s and 820s. Most of the campers in that lot were still waiting on interior parts that were backordered. They were waiting finish work with their shipments came in. Everyone we talk to has trouble getting parts and materials.
There is some news about a new 920 coming this year, or early next year. Also, an 820 will work on an 8' foot bed with some modifications and attention to your center of gravity. Then you would have some storage in front of the camper :). The 920 has much more space though. If you can wait, it's an awesome camper!
They aren’t in production right now. It seems like NuCamp switches out their production lines to meet the needs of the market. I’m sure it’s more complicated than that, but I’d love to see the Avia return as well. And… the Cirrus 920!
I did and most people were asking about it as well, they did put sorta like a cabinet but you could not hang anything there; it was literally a few inches deep. They need to fix the storage depth on all cabinets in my opinion.
It will be interesting to see what they have coming out next. I’m sure that you aren’t the only person with that complaint and I would imagine they will address it if the build another Avia.
I just looked at the video over and he said they were only building 7 units a week. That's not a lot which is good I believe that's why there such high quality.
The dry weight is about 3700. With everything we own, full water, fuel, food, etc, its more like 5500-6000 LBS. some of that “stuff” is in the back seat of the truck.

How is the floor designed? And how are the panels (walls, floor & roof) joined? Are all the panels sourced outside the co?
Great questions. I don't have all that knowledge right now. I'd suggest contacting NuCamp for the details.
We’ll be there next week. 😊

They have certainly made improvements to their Cirrus line. But we won't know how the next 920 will look until they release it. I can't wait!
Very very cool

So do they use the same wet bath in all the truck campers? I wonder if they do custom builds?
Same design, slightly different layout and sizes between models. I don't think they do truly custom builds, but they can offer customization.

the 620 has the fridge up on the overhead on the bed. moisture is likely to drip on tpo the mattress. So the 875 is the next model

Scott an Sasha did the happen to say how many 820s have been built and is there a waiting list? I had heard from my dealer there was quite a wait.
They didn’t give exact numbers, but they do have reduced inventory because of higher demand. So the wait times are higher than usual.
What are the dimensions of the two bunk beds at the front? Thanks

The one downside I saw with the Avia was no hanging closet space considering that it is a fairly long trailer.
I never looked that closely, I’m surprised that they wouldn’t include a hanging closet!
